The ENFORCER SA-027HQ Annual Timer can be programmed o opera e wo Form C relays 24
hours a day, for an en ire year for various applica ions including securi y, access con rol, ligh ing,
and environmen al con rol. Each relay can be programmed for up o 99 even s wi h each even on
a weekly or daily schedule. Block programming allows even s o be repea ed on consecu ive days.
Twen y programmable holidays disable he imer for a single day or he same day yearly.

Installation
1. Find a loca ion where he LCD display is visible, and he bu ons accessible. Mark he loca ion.
2. Connec he wires (see Overview, Terminal Layout Chart, pg. 2 and Basic Wiring, pg. 4).
3. Connec a 12~24 VAC or 10~48 VDC power supply o he power inpu erminals, 1 and 2.
4. Connec he 12VDC ba ery backup o he backup ba ery inpu erminals 3 (+) and 4 (–) if
desired (no included).
5. Connec he devices ha are being con rolled o he ou pu s of relays 1 and/or 2 as well as any
o her devices being connec ed.
NOTE: To pro ec he relay, you mus ins all a 1N4004 diode—wi h he ca hode (s riped
end , no included) wired oward he posi ive side—in parallel wi h he
power supply and as close o he lock as possible for DC powered locks unless your
lock has a diode built in. AC powered locks and elec romagne ic locks require a
varis or/MOV (05D390K or similar, no included) wired in he same loca ion if the lock
does not have one built in (all SECO-LARM elec romagne ic locks have buil -in
pro ec ion). Failure o use hese as direc ed will void he warran y.

Basic Wiring
NOTES
•When connec ing o a backup ba ery, he ba ery vol age mus be 12VDC ONLY.
•Only a ba ery can be connec ed o he backup ba ery inpu . Do no connec a power adap er.
•When i s op ional N.O. swi ch is ac iva ed, he first person-in func ion suspends he opera ion of
he imer. If he corresponding relay is urned on before first-person-in is ac iva ed, he relay will

An RF receiver can be used o rigger he egress wirelessly. The receiver’s COM erminal is connec ed o a ground and he N.O. erminal is
connec ed o he imer's egress inpu . A second ou pu on he RF can be connec ed o he first-person-in erminal.

Programming Introduction

and pro ec s programming ins ruc ions even in case of power failure and af er a full charge (abou

Programming is easier and fas er if you know exac ly how you wan o use he imer and have a
good unders anding of he func ions i has.
Programming Recommendations
1. I is recommended ha you follow he programming ins ruc ions in he order given as his will
make he ins alla ion easier.
2. De ermine which relays will opera e he devices ha will be con rolled.
3. De ermine whe her wo relays will be used in andem.
4. Decide whe her you wish o use Dayligh Savings Time or S andard Time. For a full explana ion,
see rogramming Daylight Savings Time on pg. 9.
5. Using a separa e piece of paper, wri e down your programming no es.
a. Any even s ha can be block coded. i.e., even s on consecu ive days like Monday hrough
Friday or Sa urday and Sunday.

c. Any holidays you wish o program o override he programmed even s (up o 20).

Programming Buttons
Programming is accomplished wi h wo bu ons.
1. SEL – The Select bu on is used o naviga e he menu o selec he func ion o be programmed.
2. ENTER – When a choice has been selec ed, he Enter bu on is used for changing and
confirming an op ion. Pressing once will change o he nex op ion. Pressing and holding will
cycle ahead rapidly, handy for number op ions when you need o skip much fur her ahead.

by a home screen showing he da e and ime (which you will se la er) and a reading of he imer's

Programming
The basic s eps for programming are as follows.
1. Go o he menu for he fea ure you wish o program by pressing he SEL bu on.
2. Press he ENTER bu on o en er ha menu.
3. The firs programming op ion will be flashing. Press he ENTER bu on o change ha op ion
and press he SEL bu on o move o he nex op ion and repea .
4. Move o he Return icon and press he ENTER bu on o save your changes and exi o he
home screen.
NOTES:
•In he ins ruc ions below, he PIN Code will be assumed o be disabled. If enabled, you'll need o
en er your PIN code before beginning programming.
•Holding he ENTER bu on down will cause i o quickly move hrough he op ions.
Screen Readout Description
Set Events
ENTER o se imed even s (up o 99 per relay) including even number,
relay number, how he relay will opera e, and he day and ime he even is
scheduled. Block programming for even s on consecu ive days is also
available.
Set Holidy
ENTER o program holidays (up o 20), i.e., da es when he normal
opera ion of he imer should be suspended.
Set PinCode
ENTER o se a PIN code o secure he imer from unau horized ampering
(op ional, 4-digi s, fac ory prese = 0000).

Smart Charging
The imer's smar charging fea ure con rols charging so ha he ba ery is only charged when
necessary o prolong he life of he ba ery and ensure ha a ba ery is no overcharged.
When a backup ba ery is connec ed, he imer will au oma ically de ec i and s ar charging if he
ba ery vol age is less han 11.5V.
Charging will s op when he ba ery vol age reaches 12.8V and will remain on s andby un il he
ba ery vol age again falls below 11.5V or af er 2 weeks, whichever comes firs .
Checking Power Input and Backup Battery Level
To check he power inpu and backup ba ery level, from he
home screen, press he ENTER bu on.
The power inpu vol age will be shown as Pv=xx.x where xx.x represen s he curren inpu vol age.
The curren backup ba ery level will be shown as Bv=xx.x or Bv xx.x, where xx.x represen s he
curren ba ery vol age and indica es ha he ba ery is curren ly being charged.
Troubleshooting
My backup ba ery is no
charging
•Ensure all ba ery connec ions are correc and igh .
•No e ha he ba ery will s op charging when he ba ery reaches 12.9 V
and will no resume charging un il he ba ery's vol age falls below 11.5V
or af er 2 weeks, whichever comes firs .
How can I es ha a relay
is working
•You can use he System Test (see pg. 11) o oggle each relay on and
off o es ha he relay works properly.
