General
Features
MiniBoard can be used in manual handling situations,
such as turning a client in bed, moving a client higher up
in bed, from bed to bed, and when lifting a client from
the floor. MiniBoard is available in two models: one with
7 handles and one with 11 handles. Both models are
equipped with an extra handle at the head end providing
ideal support for the client's head.

To avoid accidents and injury when moving and handling
the products, read the manual carefully.
The person described as "the client" in this user manual is
the person who is lying or sitting on the product. The carer
or carers are the people who manoeuvre the product.
The products comply with the standards applicable for
Class 1 products in the European Council Directive MDD
93/42/EEC on medical devices.
This symbol appears alongside the text in
the manual. It draws the reader's attention
to points at which there may be a risk to the
health and safety of the client or carer.
At Etac we strive to improve our products all the time and
therefore we reserve the right to make changes to prod-
ucts without prior warning. All measurements given on
illustrations and similar material are for guidance only and
Etac cannot be held liable for errors and defects.
The information given in this manual, including recom-
mendations, combinations and sizing, does not apply to
special orders and modifications. If the customer makes
adjustments, repairs or combinations not predetermined
by Etac, the Etac CE certification and Etac warranty will
be voided. If in doubt, please contact Etac.
Warranty: Two-year warranty on material and manufac-
turing defects, provided that the product is used correctly.
The product can be scrapped in accordance with national
regulations.

Use
Positioning
To position the MiniBoard under the client: Roll the client
slightly agains the direction of movement. Then fold the
functional handles alongside the client in under the Mini-
Board, and slide the MiniBoard in under the client. Roll
the client back and then roll him/her gently in the oppo-
site direction and fold out the functional handles.
Use
The carer now grasps the functional handles and can move
the client in the bed, from one bed to another, from lying
to seated and then standing, etc. (Illustrations 1 and 2).
If MiniBoard is used to lift a client from the floor, car-
ers should assess working conditions and space available
vis-à-vis correct manual handling techniques and the total
weight that can be lifted responsibly.
MiniBoard can be easily removed by moving the functional
handles to one side in under the MiniBoard, rolling the cli-
ent gently to this side, and then pulling MiniBoard out on
the opposite side.

Remember to use the client's resources.
MiniBoard is not suitable for lifting with a lift.
There is a risk that the client may slide down.
Never leave the client alone on the edge of
the bed.
Never leave the client on the MiniBoard unless there is a
guard rail.
Never leave MiniBoard on the floor.
To ensure that the client feels safe and that every manual
handling is smooth, always plan the manual handling in
advance.

Use
Always check the product before use and after washing.
Never use a defective product. If the product shows signs
of wear-and-tear, it must be scrapped.
Read these instructions carefully.
It is important that carers receive instruction in manual
handling.

The product should be checked regularly, preferably each
time it is used.
Check that seams and fabric are not damaged.
Never try to repair a product yourself. Never use
a defective product.
Washing instructions:
MiniBoard can be wiped off with disinfectant.
Remove board before washing.
Do not use fabric softener.
