3. Intended use
The weather station displays the different measured values e.g. the inside/outside temperature, the inside/outside
humidity, air pressure, the quantity of rain, the wind speed and wind direction.
The measured data of the outdoor sensors are transmitted by radio wirelessly to the weather station.
By means of an internal air pressure sensor and the recording of the changes in air pressure, the weather station
then calculates a weather forecast for the next 24 – 48 hours, that is represented in the display based on graphical
symbols.
Time and date are set automatically per DCF-Signal; however with reception problems, manual setting is also
possible. The product also features an alarm with snooze function.
The weather station and the outdoor sensors are powered by batteries. Alternatively the weather station can be
supplied with power via the power adapter included in the scope of supply.
For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you use the product for purposes
other than those described above, the product may be damaged. In addition, improper use can cause hazards such
asshortcircuiting,re,electricshocketc.Readtheinstructionscarefullyandkeepthem.Makethisproductavailable
to third parties only together with its operating instructions.

6. Safety instructions
Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety information. If you do
not follow the safety instructions and information on proper handling in this manual, we assume
no liability for any resulting personal injury or damage to property. Such cases will invalidate the
warranty/guarantee.
a) General
• Do not use this product in hospitals or medical facilities. Although the outdoor sensors only transmit
relatively weak radio signals, there they could still lead to malfunctions of vital systems. The same may
also apply to other areas.
• The manufacturer accepts no liability for incorrect displays, measured values or weather forecasts and
the consequences that could result therefrom.
• The product is intended for private use; it is not suitable for medical purposes or for public information.
• The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. These may become dangerous playing material
for children.
• Protecttheproductfromextremetemperatures,strongjolts,ammablegases,vapoursandsolvents.
• In addition, protect the weather station and the power adapter from direct sunlight, high humidity and
wetness.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.

• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and protect it from any
accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height can damage the
product.
• Never use the product immediately after it has been brought from a cold room into a warm one. The
condensation generated could destroy the product. Allow the device to reach room temperature before
connecting and using it. This may take several hours.
• Consult an expert when in doubt about operation, safety or connection of the device.
• Maintenance,modicationsandrepairsaretobeperformedexclusivelybyanexpertorataqualied
shop.
• If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions, contact our technical
support service or other technical personnel.
b) Power adapter
• The mains outlet must be located near to the device and be easily accessible.
• Only use the supplied mains adapter as a power supply.
• Only connect the power adapter to a normal mains socket connected to the public supply. Before
plugging in the power adapter, check whether the voltage stated on the power adapter complies with the
voltage of your electricity supplier.
• Never connect or disconnect power adapters if your hands are wet.
• Never unplug the power adapter from the mains socket by pulling on the cable; always use the grips
on the plug.
• When setting up the product, make sure that the cables are not pinched, kinked or damaged by sharp
edges.
• Always lay the cables so that nobody can trip over or become entangled in them. This poses a risk of
injury.
• For safety reasons, disconnect the power adapter from the mains socket during storms.

7. Battery / rechargeable battery information
• Keep (rechargeable) batteries out of the reach of children.
• Do not leave (rechargeable) batteries lying around. There is a risk that children or pets swallow them. If a
(rechargeable) batteries has been swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.
• Replaceat(rechargeable)batteriesintime,sinceatoroutdated(rechargeable)batteriescanleak.
• Leaking or damaged (rechargeable) batteries can cause burns when in contact with skin.
• Chemicals running out of (rechargeable) batteries are very aggressive. Objects or surfaces which can come into
contact with it can sometimes be extensively damaged. Therefore keep (rechargeable) batteries in a suitable place.
• Donotshort-circuitanddisassemble(rechargeable)batteries.Donotthrowintore.Thereisariskofexplosion!
• Never attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries. There is a risk of explosion!
• Never mix batteries with rechargeable batteries.
• Do not mix any (rechargeable) batteries in a different condition (e.g. full or half full (rechargeable) batteries).
• Always replace the whole set of (rechargeable) batteries.
Please note the correct polarity (plus/+ and minus/-) when inserting the (rechargeable) batteries.
Operation of the weather station and/or the outdoor sensors is possible with rechargeable batteries.
However due to the lower voltage (battery = 1.5 V, rechargeable battery = 1.2 V) the operating time and the
display contrast decrease greatly.
Apart from this, rechargeable batteries are very sensitive to temperature, which leads to a further shortening
of the service life for the outdoor sensors at low environmental temperatures.
We therefore recommend using only high-quality alkaline batteries, both for the weather station as well as
for the outdoor sensors, and no rechargeable batteries.

11. Inserting/changing batteries
First insert the batteries in the wind sensor, rain sensor and outdoor sensor. After that insert the batteries
in the weather station. Otherwise the data will not be transmitted correctly.
a) Wind sensor
• Remove the battery compartment cover from the underside.
• Insert 4 AAAbatteries and heed correct polarity. Heed correct polarity as indicated in the battery compartment. Ared
LEDashesnexttothesolarpanel(10),whichsignalsthatthewindsensorisswitchedon.
If the wind sensor is not switched on, press the RESET button in the battery compartment.
• Close the battery compartment. Slide the cover in the direction of the arrow up to the stop. Make sure, that the seal
is installed correctly.
The solar panel is used to conserve the batteries. It is not used for charging rechargeable batteries. It is not
possible to supply the wind sensor with power exclusively via the solar panel.

b) Rain sensor
• Turn the collection container (16) in an anticlockwise direction and remove it.
• Remove the battery compartment lid.
• Insert 4 AAA batteries and heed correct polarity. Heed correct polarity as indicated in the battery compartment.
Abovethewaterrockeraredlightashesinsidethehousing,whichsignalsthattherainsensorisswitchedon.
• Close the battery compartment.
Only insert the collection container after you have mounted the rain sensor at its location.

c) External sensor
• Loosen the screw on the back side with a Phillips screwdriver and remove the battery compartment cover.
• Before you insert the batteries, set the required channel and the temperature unit (Celsius or Fahrenheit) with the
DIP-switches, that are located in the battery compartment.
If you use multiple outdoor sensors (max. 8), all outdoor sensors must be set to a different channel.
Ex works the outdoor sensor is set to channel 1 and the unit Celsius. If you use only one single outdoor
sensor, you do not need to change the channel.
If necessary set the DIP switches according to the following table:

• Insert 2 AAA batteries and heed correct polarity. Heed correct polarity as indicated in the battery compartment. The
LED(9)lightsupforapprox.4secondsthenashesonceevery60seconds.Thetemperature,thetemperatureunit,
humidity and the channel appear on the display (8).
• Close the battery compartment. Make sure, that the seal is installed correctly. Secure the cover with the screw
previously loosened.
d) Weather station
• Remove the battery compartment cover from the back of the device.
• Insert 4 AA batteries and heed correct polarity. Heed correct polarity as indicated in the battery compartment. The
weather station beeps once, apart from that all display elements are displayed for a short time and the background
lighting changes colour.
• Close the battery compartment.
Do not press any buttons until the weather station has received the data from the sensors. Otherwise the
search mode will be aborted. As soon as the weather station has received the data from the sensors, you
can perform the necessary settings.

You can also supply the weather station with power via the power adapter included in the scope of supply.
First connect the DC connector with the power adapter socket (3). Then connect the mains plug with a
common household power outlet.
Even if batteries are already inserted, the weather station is still supplied via the power supply adapter; the
batteries are conserved.
When using the power adapter, instead of the time the indicator AC ON appears on the display for approx.
3 seconds. If you disconnect the power supply unit, the indicator AC OFF appears.
12. Function test
 Beforeyoumountthesensorsattheirnallocation,checkthattheyfunctioncorrectly.
• Swing the rain sensor to and fro a few times, so that the water rocker moves. If the function is correct, the indication
0.0 should not appear on the weather station.
• Turn the anemometer (15) manually or with the help of a fan that rotates at a constant speed. If the function is
correct, the indication 0.0 should not appear on the weather station.
• Place the weather station and the outdoor sensor in the same room, to verify the temperature and humidity. Wait
for 30 minutes, until the values have stabilized. The difference in temperature between weather station and outdoor
sensor should be max. 2 °C (4 °F). The difference in humidity between weather station and outdoor sensor should
be max. 10 %.
13. Installation
a) Choose the location
Observe the following points when choosing the location of all components:
• The rain sensor should be cleaned at least once a year. The batteries must be replaced after approx. 2 years. Make
sure, that the rain sensor is easily accessible, also after installation.
• Do not install the rain sensor under or close to trees and bushes, as falling leaves could block the opening in the
rain sensor.
• The wind sensor and the rain sensor should not be installed close to high buildings. Close proximity to high buildings
leads to inaccurate measured values. The minimum distance should be 4 times the height of the building.
For example: The distance to a 5 meter high building should be 20 meters.

• The range between the sensors and the weather station in the open air (with direct visual contact between
transmitter/receiver) is up to 100 m.
However the actual achievable range is less, as there are walls, furniture, windows or plants between the sensors
and the weather station.
Afurtherdisturbinginuencethatgreatlyreducestherangeistheproximitytometalparts,electrical/electronic
devices or cables. Also problematic are reinforced concrete ceilings, metalized insulating glass windows or other
devices on the same transmission frequency (433 MHz).
• We therefore recommend positioning the weather station at least 3 m and at most 30 m away from the sensors, in
order to receive the signals correctly.
b) Wind sensor
• Thefourcompasspointsarespeciedonthebaseofthewinddirectionindicator(14).Installthewindsensorso
that e.g. the letter S is aligned precisely to the direction South. Use a compass to help you.
• For the horizontal alignment there is a small spirit level (11) on the top side. Install the wind sensor, so that the small
air bubble in the spirit level is situated in the middle of the circular marking.
• Insert the mounting pole (12) into the receptacle on the underside of the wind sensor. Insert the other end of the
pole in the assembly foot (13). Secure each of the two connections with a small bolt and the associated small nut.

• Youcanmounttheassemblyfootonamast.Todothisusethe4largeboltswithnutsandthexingplate.
Alternatively you can mount the assembly foot directly on a wall with the 4 screws.
c) Rain sensor
• For the horizontal alignment there is a small spirit level on the top side. Install the rain sensor, so that the small air
bubble in the spirit level is situated in the middle of the circular marking.
• You can mount the rain sensor on a mast. To do this, use the two U-shaped bolts with 2 nuts on each. Then replace
the collection container (16) and turn it in a clockwise direction.

• Alternatively you can mount the rain sensor directly on a wall with the 4 screws.
• Aftertheinstallation,placethelterinthecollectioncontainer.
d) External sensor
• Install the outdoor sensor in an area that is in shadow the whole day, e.g. on a wall facing North. Direct sunlight and
heatradiatedfromobjectsfalsiesthetemperaturemeasurement.
• You can install the outdoor sensor on a wall with a suitable screw or nail (both not included in the scope of supply).
• You can also mount the outdoor sensor on a clean, smooth wall protected from rain with the supplied suction cup.
e) Weather station
• Swing out the foot and place the weather station on a even and stable surface.
• You can install the weather station on a wall with suitable screws or nails (both not included in the scope of supply).
14. Radio clock reception
• Directly after inserting the batteries, press any button on the weather station to initiate the search for the DCF time
signal.Thereceptionsymbolashes.
• If the search for the signal is still unsuccessful after several minutes, the search is aborted. A new attempt takes
place automatically after 6 hours.
• To abort the search, press any button. The reception icon disappears.
• After you have set the time manually and exited the Setting Mode, the weather station searches automatically for
the DCF time signal.
