Chapter1Open-case inspection and quick installation
1.1Open-case inspection
1.1.1Notes
Whenyou receivethe products, pleasecheckif theDVR is completeand makesure
if thereisanyaccidental damage during transportation.
Secondly,you can open the packageandcheckif the accessoriesare complete, and
then removethe protectivefilmof the DVR package.

1.3Quickinstallation
1.3.1HDD installation
(1)Open thecover of DVR, fixthe HDD intothebracket;.
(2) Connect the HDD dataandpower cabletothe HDD;
(3)Tighten the screwstofixthe HDD in thecase;
(4)Lockthe HDD case.
Note: Donot plug HDD when the DVR ison the power state.
1.3.2Connection tothecameraand monitor
Connectthe signal ofcamerawithaBNC cable tothe DVRvideo input, connectthe
signal ofDVR videooutputwithaBNC cabletothemonitor(Pleaserefertotheback
panelfigure).Connectthe RS485A(+)andtheB(-) respectivelytocorresponding
DVR interfacewithwires,ifcamerais the PTZwhichcan be controlled.
Chapter 2Softwareinterfacebasicoperation
2.1Power on and login
When the DVR ispoweron, thesystementersthepreviewstatus. If thereisvideo input,
the corresponding channel willdisplaymonitoring videoon the main interfacce.If there
is novideoinput,blue bydefault.Fullscreen and multi-screen switchcan be realized
throughdouble-click andrightclickon the main interface.Rightclickandenterthe
shortcutmenu, and select Main menu toenter correspondingMain menu interface.
Whenoperatingon relevantmenus,the systemwill remindthe usertologin,interface
asbelow(pictureontheright):

Clickmouseright buttonandselect themain menu, main menu popsup asbelow:
【Record】：“Basic”including resolution,quality,
framerate,pre-Recordsetup ；“Advanced”
including overwrite,overlay; “Recording
schedule”:settherecordingtypesofevery
periodeveryday.
【Alarm】：includingAlarmin,Motion Detection,
HDD error, passworderrorandvideo losssetup.
【Channel】：Selectchannelandsetchannel
name,PTZprotocol,PTZBaud Rate,PTZ
Addressand Color setup.

【Network】：Set IP, port number, DDNS and Mobile phonesurveillance, etc.
【User】：Add,modifyanddeleteusersand setthe userprivileges.
【System】：including Basicsetup,Advancedsetup,HDD management,and System
Maintenance.
【Display】：Main displayswitching interval, ignoringvideo loss, and displayresolution
setups.
【Log】：Information regarding loginandstarting systemwill bekept. Userscanviewthe
systemloginformation.
【RecordSearch】：Recording playbackandbackup areavailablewhen entering

2.3Recording setup
2.3.1Basic
【Main menu】à【Record】，enter the basicsetupInterface:
【Video Channel】：the channelyou wantto
setup
【Resolution】：CIF, Half-D1and D1；
【Quality】：Recording qualityis dividedinto
lowest, low, normal,high, and highestquality.
【FrameRate】：Refertotheframespersecond
ofencoding.6,12 and 25 framesrespectively
underPALsystem,and1,15,30 framesunder
NTSC system.
【Audio】Refertothe audiochannelofrelated video.Mouseclickand the drop-down
boxpopsup, and thereare1-4audio channels tochoose.(The DVR withoutaudio does
not havethisoption)
【Pre-Record】：Refertotheencodingframespersecondbeforetriggeralarmand after
finishing alarmevent when onechannelisset tobe timer & alarmrecording.
【CopyTo】：Aftersetting up the parametersofacertain channelandallparametersof
otherchannelsareconsistentwiththischannel,the parameterofthis channel can be
copied toother channelsthrough this function.
2.3.2Advanced
【Overwrite】：SelectAuto.when thecapacityof
HDD is full,the newrecordingfile will overwrite
the earliestrecording file.Ifselecting Off,itwill
not recordfor insufficient space.
【Overlay】：selectYes，theplaybackscreenwill
displaytimeanddatewhen playback the
recording file;selectNo,itwill notdisplaythe
timeand date.
2.3.3Plan
“Plan”interfaceincluding notrecording,timerrecording,alarmrecordingaswell as

timer &alarmrecordingsetup.
Plan is dividedinto 7daysa weekand 1hourper
period one day.Userscan choosetherecording
type ofeveryperiodeveryday.Afterthe
parametersaresetand saved,copytothe other
daysor otherchannels.
2.4playbackand backup
2.4.1playback
Select【Recordsearch】fromshortcutmenuorMain menu and entertheinterface,with
twotypesof Searchbytype and Searchbytime.
ByType: with5optionsofAll,manual,timer, alarm,timer&alarm.Selectthe type that
you wanttosearchin the drop-downbox,and choosefromthe recording listformthe
left picturebelow.
ByTime: enterthe specifictime,and detailedfilelist astheaboveright picturewill pop
up. Selectandplayback.
2.4.2Recordingbackup
Inthe "file list"(left pictureabove) , select therecording file tobackup.
If selectingsingle filebackup,the interfaceasthefollowingpicture(ontheleft) will pop
up;formultiplefilesbackup,selectmultiplefilesandclick “multiplefilesbackup”.The
progress of recording backupasshownin the following picture( on the right):
Note: 1. DVD-RWor USB flashdisk is optionalfor recordingdevices.

2.Donotexitorpoweroff during backup,oritwillaffectthe backupofrecording
file.
3. Pleaseseethedetailed operationmanualin the CD.
2.5Alarmsetup
2.5.1Alarmwiring diagram
The inputsideon thebackpanel ofDVR shownasbelow,pleaserefertothephysical
interfaceof the faceplate:

The above isthe1CH alarmin and 8CHalarmin figure. The backpanelof16CH is 4CH
alarmoutand16CH alarminwiththesamepriciple.Theaboveisthenormalonstatus
connection figure.
2.5.2Motion Detection
Main Menu -->Alarm
Sensitivityrefersto the motion detectionsensitivitywhichcanbe set when therecording
modeisALARMorSCHEDULE&ALARM.Choosethesensitivityfromthedrop-down
list,confirmandsavetheparameter.
Settingprocedures:
1.Selectchannel,sensitivityand detection areas.Sensitivityis off bydefaultwith1-9
options. Detectionareasareallbydefault.
2.Savetheparametersand setrecordingschedule bytime.(Pleasesee the 2.3.3
recording schedule for reference.)
(1)Selectpartial areasin thedetectionarea columnon(1)the motion detection
interface.
(2)Onthe motion detectioninterface(left picture),drawthe areastobe detected.Red

2.6PTZsetup
2.6.1Channel setup
EnterfromtheMain menu toChannelsetup.The channelsetup interfacecontainsthe
channelNo., channelname,PTZprotocol,PTZbaud rate,PTZaddress andcolor
setup.
【Video channel】:Selectthechannel.1-16 is
optional.
【ChannelName】:Enterthe channelname.
Chinese,English,digitandspecialcharacters
can be entered.
【PTZprotocol】:It susedtoachievethe
communicationwiththe PTZ.Mainlysupported
baud rate: PELCO-D ,PELCO-P and EverFocus.
【PTZBaud Rate】:Selectanappropriatebaud
rate.
【PTZID】: PTZaddresscoderangeis0-255.
【ColorSetup】:Through thebrightness,contrast,saturation,chromaticitysetup to
adjustchannel displayeffect.
【Position】: Adjust the position of the image onthechannel
【Copy】：Afterthe parametersofacentain channelandallparametersofother
channelsareconsistentwiththischannel,theparameterofthischannel can be copied
toother channelsthrough thisfunction.
2.6.2PTZControl
Right-click toenterthe previewscreen andselect"PTZcontrol" in thepop-up shortcut
menu, andenter thePTZcontrol interface(below):
Directionalkeys areusedtocontrol themoving
directionofdome.PTZbuttoncancontrol
automaticrotationofcommonPTZ.Lenszoom,
focus,IRIScan beadjustedrespectivelybyusing
increase"+"reduce"-"buttons.PTZ smoving
speedisadjustableandthe value range is 0～9.
Usethe preset: enterthecorresponding preset
value andthedomelenscanbe adjustedtothe
appropriateposition;setthepresetposition:Enterthecorrespondingpresetnumber,
the targeted position ofthe domecameracanbe setaspresetpoints.Click the “REC
PATH”on the interface(thebutton will display “END PATH”afterclicking). Click the "
TRACK"(afterclicking,itchangesto"Endtrack").The PTZ will operateaccording to
trackset andclickthe "End tracking",andthePTZwill stop.
2.7Network
2.7.1Basic
Enterfromthe Main menu toNetworksetup.Networksetup is dividedintoBasicsetup

and Advanced setup.Basicsetup interfacemainlyincludesnetworkaccess mode,IP
address,subnetmask,gatewayaddressand other parameters, asshownbelow:
【Connectmode】：withtwotypesofstaticIPanddynamicIP. IP address,gateway
address and subnetmaskshouldbeentered
manuallyforthestatic IP. Dynamic IP istheIP
allocatedbyDHCP server.
【NTPServer】：Setthe timeand correctthe
serveraddress toachievethe time
synchronization ofDVR.
【HTTPPort】：ForIE browerconnecting,enter
the URL http://192.168.1.220:8000.
【Media Port】：The port numberadopted when thereis privateprotocol between DVR
and
PC end.When ex-factory, the DVR hasadefault value.If thisportisoccupied byother
Services, modifyit toan unused port.
【Intercomport】:the intercomfunction for remotedeviceand theDVR
Note:The range ofaboveportsis between 1024 and 65535.the portscan notbethe
same.
2.7.2Advanced
【Sub stream】：Setimage qualityandframespeed.Whenthe networkisnotgood,the
secondarystreamcan reducethe imagequalityand framerateandopenbydefault.
【Email】：Support email alarmwhen aneventistriggered,DVR systemwill
automaticallyinterceptthepictureswhen aneventistriggered andthensendittothe
specified mailboxtoprompt theusers.Forspecific setup procedures, pleaserefer to the
detailed operationinthe CD.
【DNS】：Set the IP of DNS server's
【Mobile】：Set themobilephone serviceport
【UPNP】:When the UPNP is on (the UPNP attheRouterisalsoon),theDVR hostwill
map the port and IP automaticallytothe Router.
Note: IftheRouterdoesn tsupport UPNP, pleasemanuallymap the corresponding port

fromtheportforwardingorvirtualserver.Ifconflictingwithotherports,pleasemodify
the port onthe DVR. 【DDNS】：DDNS is a DynamicDomainName
Server. SetDDNS type,serveraddress,domain
name,usernameandpassword,asshownin
the picturebelow(Pleaserefertothe detailed
manual in theCD forapplication method of
domain name).
DDNS Type：withoptions of dyndns.organd
tutisddns.com.Whenyou selectthe DDNS
TYPE the lablewill showyou the registered web
sitebelow.
NOTE: When you selecttheitem“tutisddns.com”itwill showyou the domainname
automatically. You canuseittoaccess your DVR.
DomainName thedomainnameappliedbytheuser forthe DVR .
UserName: the usernameregistered on theDDNS.
Password: the passwordregistered.
【PPPOE】: Setupdialmodeand3Gfunction(support CDMA 2000and WCDMA),select
WCDMA.After successtoapply,exit fromPPPOE,and then you can see IP infoin the V
iewnet Info(if thereisIP address intheWAN-IP, it means3Gnetworkconnected).
Note: PleaseaskyourISP formoredetailsabout the dial-up parameters.
2.8Mobilephonesurveillance
2.8.1DVR end setup
Confirmthe DDNS isenabled .Donotforgetforwarding themobile port 6600 in the
router.

2.10 Client end and playingsoftware
2.10.1Client end installation&running
Open the “DVRClient.exe”in the CD, asshownin thefollowing interface：

Sub Stream Whenselected,theDVR s
networkwill transmitin substream;
otherwise,the DVR will transmitinsub

2.10.2Playback software
Since the video is inH.264 format, itwill need aspecial player.Open the playerfile
"player.exe"( ) in theCD, asshownbelow：
2.11 CentralManagement Software(TUTISCMS)
ThissystemsupportsconnectiontoDVR throughInternet, notthroughthesupport of
intermediateserver. It isconvenientfor user smanagement.
Softwareinstallation:Double click torun CD file “TUTIS CMS. msi”,andfinish as
prompted.Aftersuccessfulinstallation,doubleclickdesktop icon and run the
software. Asshownin thefollowing picture:
【User name】: Createthe user nametologin

Note:If the earlierversion ofthissoftwarehasalreadybeeninstalled orforgot, please

Files\TUTIS CMS\”.
