Die EX-12001-2 ist eine USB 3.1 (Gen2) PCI-Express Karte. Sie ist mit 2 externen P rts ausge-
stattet, die jeweils 900mA Str m zu Verfügung stellen. Die EX-12001-2 unterstützt die v lle
Leistung v n 900mA an beiden externen P rts hne das Sie zusätzlichen Str m v m PC-
Netzteil benötigen. Sie unterstützt alle PCI-Express Sl ts v n x4 bis x16. Der serielle PCI-
Express Bus unterstützt ptimal die Leistung des schnellen ASMedia Chipsatz. Die EX-12001-2
gewährleistet s eine sichere Datenübertragung und exzellente Perf rmance v n bis zu 10Gbit
pr Sekunde! Die EX-12001-2 unterstützt alle USB Anschlüsse v n 1.1 bis 3.1.

Windows XP/ Vista/ 7/ Server 2003 & 2008 R2
After starting Wind ws is rec gnizes a new „USB (Universal Serial Bus)-Controller“. Start the
„setup.exe“ file which is in the „ASM3142“ f lder (see picture):

Wind ws will n w install aut matically y u right driver f r y ur particular perating system. After
the installati n the perating system detects the card and aut matically install them.
Please n te the f ll wing installati n instructi ns. Because there are large differences between the
PC’s, we can give y u nly a general installati n instructi ns f r the EX-12001-2. Please refer y ur
c mputer’s reference manual whenever in d ubt.
1. Turn ff the p wer t y ur c mputer and any ther c nnected peripherals.
2. Rem ve the m unting screws l cated at the rear and/ r sides panels f y ur C mputer and
gently slide the c ver ff.
3. If necessary please install n w the external p wer supply t the card (see at C nnect rs at
J1).
4. L cate an available PCI-Express expansi n sl t and insert the card. Make sure that the card
is plugged in c rrectly.
5. Then attach the card with a screw t the rear panel f the c mputer.
6. Gently replace y ur c mputer’s c ver and the m unting screws.
CHECK INSTALLED DRIVER
Open the >Device manager<. N w y u sh uld see at „USB-Controller“ the f ll wing new entry's:

After the hardware installati n, the perating system will rec gnize the device aut matically and
install the drivers.

Windows XP/ Vista/ 7/ Server 2003 & 2008 R2
Wind ws erkennt beim Start einen neuen „USB (Universal Serial Bus)-Controller“. Legen Sie
nun die Treiber CD in Ihr CD-R m Laufwerk (z.B. Laufwerk D:) ein und starten Sie das
„setup.exe“ welches sich im Ordner „ASM3142“ befindet (siehe Abbildung):
F lgen Sie den Installati nsanweisungen und schließen Sie die Installati n ab.
Wind ws installiert jetzt aut matisch den richtigen Treiber für das jeweilige Betriebssystem.
Nach der Installati n der Treiber erkennt das Betriebssystem aut matisch die Karte und instal-
liert diese.
Beachten Sie bitte die f lgenden Installati nshinweise. Da es gr ße Unterschiede zwischen
PC‘s gibt, können wir Ihnen nur eine generelle Anleitung zum Einbau der EX-12001-2 geben.
Bei Unklarheiten halten Sie sich bitte an die Bedienungsanleitung Ihres C mputersystems.
1. Schalten Sie Ihren Rechner und alle angeschl ssenen Peripheriegeräte aus und ziehen
Sie bei allen Geräten den Netzstecker.
2. Lösen Sie die Schrauben des Gehäuses auf der Rückseite Ihres C mputers und entfernen
Sie v rsichtig das Gehäuse.
3. Gegebenenfalls installieren Sie nun die externe Str mvers rgung zur Entlastung des Main-
b ards! (siehe Anschlüsse J1)
4. Suchen Sie jetzt einen freien PCI-Express Steckplatz und stecken Sie die EX-12001-2
v rsichtig in den ausgewählten PCI-Express Steckplatz ein. Beachten Sie, das die EX-
12001-2 k rrekt eingesteckt ist und das kein Kurzschluss entsteht.
5. Danach befestigen Sie die EX-12001-2 mit einer Schraube am Gehäuse.
6. Jetzt das C mputergehäuse mit den Schrauben wieder schließen.
