INFORMAZIONI GENERALI
Scopo del manuale
Questo manuale è stato realizzato dal costruttore per fornire le istruzioni operative ed i criteri da
eseguire per lo smontaggio, il montaggio, la sostituzione dei componenti , le revisioni e le
regolazioni di messa a punto della lampada, nel seguente manuale denominata anche
apparecchio.
Queste istruzioni sono rivolte agli operatori esperti opportunamente addestrati dei Centri di
Assistenza Autorizzati FARO.
Le istruzioni originali sono fornite dal costruttore in lingua italiana e inglese e sono relative al
modello la cui denominazione commerciale è riportata in copertina.
Per soddisfare gli adempimenti legislativi o commerciali le istruzioni originali possono essere
fornite dal costruttore in altre lingue.
Per evidenziare operazioni con presenza di rischio ai fini della sicurezza o per indicare
informazioni importanti sono stati utilizzati i simboli di seguito raffigurati e descritti.

Indica informazioni o procedure che se non vengono rispettate possono mettere seriamente a
rischio la salute e la sicurezza delle persone.
Prudenza - Cautela
Indica informazioni o procedure che se non vengono rispettate possono mettere seriamente a

Prescrizioni generali di sicurezza
Qualsiasi azione comporta un rischio, cioè la possibilità che possa verificarsi una situazione che
porti come conseguenza un danno a persone e/o cose.
Il rischio non rappresenta l'evento dannoso ma solo la possibilità che esso si verifichi; pertanto può
essere prevenuto ed evitato usando la dovuta diligenza ed adottando adeguate misure di
prevenzione.
Il personale addetto, per operare o intervenire sulla macchina, dovrà essere ritenuto idoneo a tali
mansioni e dovrà svolgere le operazioni secondo le indicazioni descritte in questo manuale e
secondo le norme di sicurezza previste dalla legislazione vigente.
Tutti gli interventi devono essere eseguiti con apparecchiatura scollegata dalle fonti di energia e
devono essere adottati tutti gli accorgimenti necessari per operare in sicurezza.
La sostituzione di componenti usurati o danneggiati deve essere effettuata con ricambi originali.
Smaltire il materiale di scarto nel rispetto della legislazione vigente in materia di raccolta e
smaltimento differenziato dei rifiuti.
In riferimento alla normativa RAEE ( Rifiuti Apparecchiature Elettriche Elettroniche ), i componenti
elettrici ed elettronici non devono essere smaltiti come rifiuto urbano ma devono essere raccolti
separatamente e smaltiti in appositi centri di raccolta perché potenzialmente dannosi per
l'ambiente e per la salute delle persone.
Lo smaltimento abusivo dei “Rifiuti Apparecchiature Elettriche Elettroniche” (RAEE) è punito con
sanzioni regolate dalle leggi vigenti.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Aim of the manual
Aim of the manual
This manual is produced by the manufacturer to provide operating instructions and criteria to be
followed during assembly, disassembly, part replacement, servicing and fine tuning adjustments of
the steam steriliser, referred to hereinafter also as equipment.
These instructions are for expert operators who have been duly trained by FARO Authorised
Service Centres.
The original instructions are supplied by the manufacturer in english and concern the model
mentioned on the front cover.
In order to meet certain legal or business requirements, the original instructions may be translated
into other languages.
The symbols shown and described below are used in the manual to highlight important information
or operations involving a certain level of risk in terms of safety.
Danger - Warning
This indicates information or procedures which, if ignored, could seriously put the health and safety
of those involved at risk.
Caution - Care
This indicates information or procedures which, if ignored, could put the health and safety of those
involved at risk and cause economic damage.
Information
This indicates useful and important information or procedures which must not be neglected.
General safety rules
Any action involves a risk, i.e. the possibility that a situation could occur which results in injury or
damage of some kind to persons and/or property.A risk is not a harmful event in itself but simply
the possibility that it may occur; there-fore, the risk in question can be anticipated and averted by
taking the utmost care and suitable preventive measures.Personnel authorised to work on or
operate the machine must be suitable for such tasks and must carry out the operations according
to the instructions contained in this manual and in conformity with safety regulations foreseen by
the law in force.All operations must be carried out with the machine disconnected from power
sourc-es and all necessary measures must be adopted to operate safely.Worn or damaged
components must be replaced with original spare parts.Components and waste material must be
disposed of in compliance with the law in force concerning waste collection, sorting and disposal.
In compliance with the WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) directive all electrical
and electronic components must be disposed of separately from household waste; they must be
collected, sorted and disposed of in special centres because they are potentially harmful for the
environment and human health.Unlawful disposal of “Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment”
(WEEE) is punish-able by sanctions according to the laws in force.

- Prop up the unit and tighten the
ring nut (G).
Caution
Follow the tting order shown in
the illustration for the ring nut
and washer.

- Prop up the unit so that it cannot
fall and unscrew the ring nut (G).
Caution
Once the unit has been removed,
the arm will be released in an
upwards movement. To prevent
the risk of accidents, we recom-
mend you accompany the arm
in its movement through to the
stroke limit.

- Remove the lamp set (F), taking
care not to damage the guides on
the head.
If the guides are slightly dama-
ged, this will not affect lamp set
performance and safety.

- Fit the new lamp set and position
it approx. 2 mm away from the
stroke limit.
- Screw the lamp set fastening
screws (E).
- Connect the connector (D) and
switch on the lamp.
- Project the light spot onto a flat
surface located approx. 700 mm
away from the light source.
- Remove the lamp set to optimise
the light spot.
When the light spot is uniform
and clearly focused, switch off the
lamp and tighten the screws (E)
to secure the lamp set in position.
- Montare il nuovo gruppo ottico
e posizionarlo a circa 2 mm dalla
battuta.
- Avvitare le viti (E) di fissaggio
del gruppo ottico.
- Collegare il connettore (D) ed
accendere la lampada.
- Proiettare lo spot luminoso su
una superficie piana distante
circa 700 mm dal radiatore.
- Muovere il gruppo ottico per ot-
timizzare lo spot luminoso.
Quando lo spot luminoso è
uniforme e nitido, spegnere la
lampada e avvitare le viti (E) per
bloccare il gruppo ottico in po-
sizione.

Caution
Do not overtighten the screw as
this will alter the position of the
lamp set and the quality of the
light spot.
- Check the quality of the light
spot.
- Montare il copriradiatore (C) ed
avvitare la vite (B).
Prudenza
Non avvitare eccessivamente
la vite per non modificare la
posizione del gruppo ottico e
alterare la qualità dello spot
luminoso.
- Verificare la qualità dello spot
luminoso.

We recommend you tighten the
ring nut to a torque of 88 cNm.

junction for head and upwards at
the same time.
- Undo the screw (F).
- Installare il gruppo porta-inter-
ruttore esercitando una pressio-
ne contemporanea verso l’ar-
chetto e verso l’alto.
- Avvitare la vite (F).

- With a suitable tool, press down
to remove the reflector.
- Lift the reflector all around (G) to
be able to remove it completely.
- Remove the reflector.
- Repeat the same procedure for
the other reflectror (H).
- Con un adeguato utensile spin-
gere a fondo per staccare il ri-
flettore.
- Fare leva in più punti del riflet-
tore (G) per staccarlo completa-
mente.
- Rimuovere il riflettore.
- Ripetere la stessa operazione
anche per l’altro riflettore (H).
FASE DI SMONTAGGIO REMOVAL STAGE
- Applicare la colla siliconica sul
telaio nei punti estremi delle su-
perfici di contatto del telaio con
il riflettore (vedere figura).
- Ripetere la stessa operazione
anche per l’altro riflettore.
- Apply the silicone glue on the
frame at the outer portion of the
surfaces of the frame that come
into contact with the reflector
(see figure).
- Repeat the same procedure for
the other reflector.

FASE DI MONTAGGIO
- Prima di alloggiare i nuovi riflettori pulire bene le superfici di
contatto del telaio e del riflettore.
- Non utilizzare per la pulizia prodotti infiammabili (benzina,
alcool, ecc.) ma detergenti adeguati.
- Dopo aver installato i riflettori, lasciare asciugare la colla sili-
conica per almeno 3 - 4 ore.
FITTING STAGE
- Before inserting the new reflectors, thoroughly clean the con-
tact surfaces of the frame and the reflector.
- Do not use flammable products for cleaning (petrol, alcohol,
etc.), but suitable detergents.
- After having installed the reflectors, let the silicone glue dry for
at least 3 - 4 hours.

tore e i supporti maniglia.
Replace without removing the radiator cover and handle
supports.

- Insert the tab (M) into place and
install the reflector.
- Press along the entire perimeter
of the reflector so that it attaches
perfectly to the frame.
- Repeat the same procedure for
the other reflector.
- Check the quality of the light
spot.

- Undo the screw (L).
- Remove the switch holder unit,
applying slight pressure towards
the arc and downwards at the
same time (see gure).

- If featured, connect the remote
control power supply connector
(G).
- If featured, connect the horn
power supply connector (F).
- Connect the lamp set power sup-
ply connector (E).
- Connect the electronic unit power
supply connector (D).

- Place the arm In the fully extend-
ed position and provide for the
fitting of the lamp.
- By means of the spirit level (A)
check the proper levelling of the
rear arm.
In order to eliminate any errors,
adjust the arm support (see In-
structions of the arm support or
“Dental unit” manufacturer).
- Posizionare il braccio totalmen-
te disteso e la lampada comple-
tamente montata.
- Con una livella a bolla (A) con-
trollare il corretto livellamento
del braccio posteriore.
Per correggere un eventuale
errore intervenire sul supporto
del braccio (vedere informazio-
ni del costruttore del supporto
braccio o del “Riunito dentale”).

elled.
- Standing in front of the lamp, re-
move the guard (B) using a suit-
able tool.
- Controllare che i bracci siano

- Install the casing (B).- Installare il carter (B).

- Use the special wrench (A), code
T408069 on the nut (B) to hori-
zontally level the lamp.
- Rotate the nut counteclockwise
(1) to lower the unit.
- Rotate the nut clockwise (2) to
raise the unit.
Once completed the said adjust-
ment, the lamp shall be levelled
in every working position.
- Agire con la chiave speciale (A),
codice T408069, sul dado (B) in
modo da equilibrare orizzontal-
mente la lampada.
- Ruotare il dado in senso antiora-
rio (1) per abbassare la testata.
- Ruotare il dado in senso orario
(2) per fare salire la testata.
A regolazione effettuata la lam-
pada sarà bilanciata in tutte le
posizioni di impiego.
