Information for these operating instructions
These operating instructions are a component of the Round Barbecue FKG 48 A1
(hereafter referred to as the appliance or grill) and they provide you with important
information on the intended use, safety and assembly as well as operation of the
appliance.
These operating instructions must constantly be kept available close to the appliance.
They are to be read and applied by everyone occupied with operating the appliance.
Retain these operating instructions and pass them on, with the appliance, to any
future owner.

illustrations, even in an altered state, are only permitted with the written approval of
the manufacturer.
Intended use
This round barbecue is intended exclusively for the preparation of grilled foods.
It is suitable only for use outdoors. This round barbecue is intended for use only
in domestic environments, not for commercial applications.
No liability will be assumed for damages caused by misuse or improper handling,
the use of force or unauthorised modification.

In this chapter you will receive important safety information regarding the handling
of the appliance.
This appliance complies with the statutory safety regulations.
Incorrect usage can lead to personal injury and property damage.
Basic Safety Instructions
WARNING
Warnings about burns!
1. During use, place the grill on a secure, level and firm surface, otherwise it
could tip over.
2. CAUTION! For igniting and reigniting, do not use spiritus, petrol or similar
liquids! Use only ignition aids complying with EN 1860-3. The deflagration
could cause an uncontrollable development of heat.
3. ATTENTION! During use the round barbecue will become very hot and
therefore may not be moved, otherwise it could tip over.
4. ATTENTION! Keep children and pets well away from it!
5. Wear appropriate barbecue gloves when grilling and use grill tongs.
6. NEVER leave a hot grill unattended.
7. Let the grill cool completely before cleaning it.
8. NEVER use water to extinguish the charcoal.

Warning in regard to suffocation!
Use the round barbecue ONLY outdoors!►
Do not operate the round barbecue in indoor rooms or roofed-over areas.►

Preparing for assembly
Allow yourself plenty of time for the assembly of the round barbecue. Secure a
level workplace of about two to three square meters. Remove all individual items
from the packaging and place them where they are conveniently handy.
Required assembly material
Phillips head screwdriver
Open-ended spanners SW 8 mm, SW 13 mm
WARNING
To avoid possible injury, the screw heads should always face outwards.►
First tighten all screw connections down when the assembly is complete,
this will help avoid undesirable material tensions.

Step 1
Screw the handle♦ and the hood bracket 4with M5 x 12 screws B ,
Ø6 washers E , Ø6 washers F and nuts M5 G to the hood 3. Secure the
ventilation plate 2to the hood 3using a M5 x 12 screw B , Ø6 washer F
and M5 nut G .
Step 2
Place over each upper leg end (♦ 13 + 16 ) an ash collector tray holder 11 and
a leg cap 10 and then assemble the legs in the arrangement depicted onto
the firebowl 8. For this, use the M6 x 30 screws

and Ø6 washers D .
Guide the ends of the wire shelf♦ 15 through the holes in the wheeled legs 13
and hook the curved end of the wire shelf 15 into the support leg 16 . Fit the
wheels 14 using Ø8 washers C and the M8 H self-locking nuts.

Secure the ventilation plate♦ 9with a M5 x 12 screw B , Ø6 washer F
and M5 nut G to the firebowl 8.
Secure the two handles♦ using M5 x 12 screws B , Ø6 washers F ,
Ø6 washers E and M5 nuts G to the firebowl 8.
Step 4
Clamp the ash collector tray♦ 12 in the ash collector tray holder 11 between
the legs (13 + 16 ). Place the charcoal grill 7and the cooking grill 5into
the firebowl 8. If needed, place the charcoal divider 6on the charcoal
grill 7.
To finish the assembly, tighten all screw connections firmly.♦

NOTICE
Before the first use, the grill must be warmed up for at least 30 minutes.►
WARNING
Warnings about burns!
During use, place the grill on a secure, level and firm surface, otherwise it►
could tip over.
Warning! For igniting and reigniting, do not use spiritus, petrol or similar liquids!►
Use only ignition aids complying with EN 1860-3. The deflagration could
cause an uncontrollable development of heat.
Build up a small pile of charcoal in the firebowl.■
Place one or two solid firelighters on the existing layer of charcoal and ignite■
the solid firelighters with a match or lighter.
Allow the firelighters to burn for 2 to 4 minutes. Then slowly start filling the■
firebowl with charcoal.
After about 20 minutes the charcoal will display a white coating of ash.■
The optimal burning temperature has now been reached.
Spread the charcoal evenly in the firebowl with a suitable metal implement.■
Insert the grill grate and start the barbecue.■
Direct cooking
Direct cooking is similar to frying. The food item is cooked directly over the heat
source (coal), so it is the usual grilling. With this method the heat radiation onto
the food item is at its strongest and keeps the cooking time low.
Use the direct cooking method for foods that require max. 25 minutes of grilling
time, e.g. steaks, chops or sausages. You can open the hood with direct grilling,
then you can see your food being cooked. With the hood closed and the ventilation
plates in the hood and firebowl open, the cooking time can be further shortened.
When direct cooking there is always the possibility that fat or marinade could fall
into the heat source from the food item and burn there. In the cases of highly
fatty or marinated food items, it is recommended that you use a drip tray made
of aluminum or an enameled steel tray.

Indirect cooking
Indirect cooking is similar to roasting. The difference is that your food item is grilled
and therefore receives a better flavour and appearance than in the oven.
Use the indirect cooking method for foods which need longer than 25 minutes to
grill, or for food items which are too sensitive for direct cooking, otherwise they
would dry out or sear, such as roasts, ribs, whole chicken or fish fillets.
To prepare the grill for indirect cooking, the charcoal divider needs to be placed
on the charcoal grill (see Fig. Placing the charcoal dividers). The coal divider
may not be fitted parallel to the handles, rather, it must be turned through 90°
when fitting it. The amount of fuel (charcoal) must be limited to 2 x 500 g. With
the fitting of the coal divider the firebowl is divided into three zones. Zones 1 and
3 are the spaces between the charcoal divider and side walls of the firebowl.
Zone 2 is the space between the charcoal divider. This space remains empty.
Here you can if necessary place a drip tray to collect the juices and drippings
that can accumulate. On the one hand this facilitates the cleaning of the grill, on
the other, the meat juices can be used for a sauce/gravy. Put some water into the
drip tray to avoid the juices burning on.
Fill the zones 1 and 3 with charcoal and ignite it. For slow and gentle indirect
cooking, you always need the hood. With this, the firebowl is covered and thus
creates an enclosed cooking chamber. The ventilation plates on the firebowl and
the hood must be opened so as to obtain an oxygen supply. The grilling time for
indirect cooking is significantly longer than it is for direct cooking.

WARNING
Warnings about burns!
Before cleaning it or putting it into storage, allow the round barbecue to cool►
down completely. NEVER use water to extinguish the glowing charcoal.
TAKE NOTE
Do not use abrasive or aggressive cleaning agents, they can damage the►
enamelled pieces.
For normal cleaning, use a cloth and water with standard detergent.
For heavy soiling on the enamelled parts, use a standard commercial enamel cleaner.
Pay heed to the instructions supplied by the manufacturer of the cleaning agent being
employed. Clean the cooking grill with detergent and a household sponge.
Disposal
Dispose of flammable materials carefully and with regard to the
environment. Dispose of remaining waste fundamentally only into
containers made of metal and intended for this purpose or made of
non-flammable materials.
Dispose of the Round Barbecue through an approved disposal centre or at your
community waste facility. Observe the currently applicable regulations. In case of
doubt, please contact your local waste disposal centre.
Dispose of all packaging materials in an environmentally friendly manner.

Only in this way can a post-free despatch for your goods be assured.
NOTICE
The warranty covers only claims for material and manufacturing defects,►
not for transport damages, wearing parts or for damage to fragile compo-
nents, e.g. switches.
This appliance is intended solely for private domestic use, not for commercial
applications. If this product has been subjected to improper or inappropriate
handling, abuse, or modifications not carried out by one of our authorised service
centres, the warranty will be considered void. This warranty does not affect your
statutory rights.
The warranty period is not extended by repairs effected under warranty. This
applies also to replaced and repaired parts. Damages and defects discovered
on purchase are to be reported directly after unpacking, at the latest by two
days after the date of purchase. On the lapse of the warranty period, all repairs
carried out are liable to charges.

Informacje o niniejszej instrukcji obsługi
Niniejsza instrukcja obsługi stanowi część grilla ogrodowego FKG 48 A1
(zwanego dalej urządzeniem lub grillem) i zawiera ważne wskazówki o użytko-
waniu urządzenia zgodnie z jego przeznaczeniem, bezpieczeństwie, budowie
oraz obsłudze urządzenia.
Instrukcję obsługi należy przechowywać stale w pobliżu urządzenia. Instrukcję
powinna przeczytać każda osoba, która będzie zajmowała się obsługą urządzenia.
Przechowuj instrukcję obsługi i w razie odsprzedaży produktu przekaż ją wraz z
urządzeniem nowemu właścicielowi.

OSTRZEŻENIE
Ostrzeżenie przed oparzeniami
1. Podczas używania grill ogrodowy należy ustawić na stabilnym i twardym
podłożu, gdyż w przeciwnym razie mógłby się wywrócić.
2. OSTROŻNIE! Do rozpalania grilla nie należy używać spirytusu ani benzyny!
Można stosować wyłącznie podpałki zgodne normą EN 1860-3. W przeciw-
nym razie może nastąpić niekontrolowany wzrost temperatury wskutek
wybuchów.
3. UWAGA! W trakcie używania grill ogrodowy mocno się nagrzewa, dlatego
zabrania się jego przemieszczania w tym czasie, gdyż w przeciwnym razie
może się on wywrócić.
4. UWAGA! Trzymać z dala od dzieci i zwierząt domowych!
5. Podczas grillowania należy zakładać specjalne rękawice ochronne i stosować
szczypce do grilla.
6. W żadnym razie nie należy zostawiać włączonego grilla ogrodowego bez
nadzoru.
7. Przed czyszczeniem grilla ogrodowego należy poczekać, aż będzie on zimny.
8. Do gaszenia węgla drzewnego nie wolno stosować wody.

Przygotowanie do montażu
Zarezerwuj sobie odpowiednią ilość czasu na montaż grilla ogrodowego. Miejsce
montażu powinno mieć powierzchnię dwóch do trzech metrów kwadratowych.
Wyjmij wszystkie części składowe z opakowania i rozłóż je w pobliżu.
