Lithium-Ion Battery Pack

A Warning identifies conditions and procedures that are
dangerous to the user. A Caution identifies conditions and
procedures that can cause damage to the Product or the
equipment under test.
Warning
To prevent possible electrical shock, fire, or personal
injury, use only the Fluke 1730 Energy Logger to charge
the battery.
Caution
To prevent decrease of battery capacity, charge it at
least twice a year.
The battery pack, Fluke BP1730, has been tested in accordance
with:
•UN Manual of Tests and Criteria Part III Subsection 38.3
(ST/SG/AC.10/11/Rev.3) – more commonly known as the
UN T1..T8 – tests, and has been found to comply with the
stated criteria
•IEC62133

Safe Storage
•Do not remove a battery pack from its original packaging
until required for use.
•Keep the battery pack out of the reach of children and
animals.
Warning
To prevent possible electrical shock, fire, or personal
injury:
•Read all safety information before you use the
Product.
•Use the Product only as specified, or the protection
supplied by the Product can be compromised.
•Carefully read all instructions.
•Charge the battery only when installed in the Fluke
1730 Energy Logger.
•Do not use the Product around explosive gas, vapor,
or in damp or wet environments.
•Examine the case before you use the Product. Look
for cracks or missing plastic. Carefully look at the
insulation around the terminals.
•Batteries contain hazardous chemicals that can
cause burns or explode. If exposure to chemicals
occurs, clean with water and get medical aid.
•Remove the batteries if the Product is not used for
an extended period of time, or if stored in
temperatures above 50 °C. If the batteries are not
removed, battery leakage can damage the Product.
•Do not short the battery terminals together.
•Do not disassemble or crush battery cells and
battery packs.
•Do not put battery cells and battery packs near heat
or fire. Do not put in sunlight.
•Do not continuously charge battery packs when not
in use.
•Do not expose battery pack to mechanical shock.
•Do not open the battery pack. There are no user
serviceable parts inside.
•Refer to the Product manual for proper instructions
on charging the battery pack.
•Do not transport damaged batteries by air.

Safe Disposal
•A failed battery pack shall be properly disposed of in
accordance with local regulations.
•Dispose of properly: do not dispose of the battery as
unsorted municipal waste. Go to Fluke’s website for
recycling information.
•Dispose in discharged condition and cover the battery
terminals with isolation tape.

recycling information.
This product complies with the WEEE Directive
(2002/96/EC) marking requirements. The affixed
label indicates that you must not discard this
electrical/electronic product in domestic household
waste. Product Category: With reference to the
equipment types in the WEEE Directive Annex I,
this product is classed as category 9 "Monitoring
and Control Instrumentation” product. Do not
dispose of this product as unsorted municipal waste.

LIMITED WARRANTY AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
This Fluke product will be free from defects in material and
workmanship for one year from the date of purchase. This warranty
does not cover fuses, disposable batteries, or damage from accident,
neglect, misuse, alteration, contamination, or abnormal conditions of
operation or handling. Resellers are not authorized to extend any
other warranty on Fluke’s behalf. To obtain service during the
warranty period, contact your nearest Fluke authorized service center
to obtain return authorization information, then send the product to
that Service Center with a description of the problem.
THIS WARRANTY IS YOUR ONLY REMEDY. NO OTHER
WARRANTIES, SUCH AS FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR
PURPOSE, ARE EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED. FLUKE IS NOT LIABLE
FOR ANY SPECIAL, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL OR
CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR LOSSES, ARISING FROM ANY
CAUSE OR THEORY. Since some states or countries do not allow the
exclusion or limitation of an implied warranty or of incidental or
consequential damages, this limitation of liability may not apply to you.
