2.Get Started
Before you begin, you need to prepare your phone by installing the
SIM card, which is supplied by the service provider.
Notice:
1. The SIM card can be easily damaged by scratching or bending, so be careful
when handling, inserting or removing the card. Follow the SIM manual
supplied by the manufacturer.
2. Please keep SIM card out of the reach of children. If the card is lost, please
contact your service provider.
Install The SIM Card and Battery
(1) Press and hold for about 2 seconds to switch off the
phone.
(2) With the back of the phone facing you, slide the cover in the
direction of the arrow to remove it. Then, remove the battery.
(3) Insert the SIM card into the holder as shown, unbeveled corner
first, with the gold colored contacts on the SIM card facing
down.

(4) Position the battery so the gold colored contacts match
up with those in the battery slot. Snap the bottom part of
the battery into place. Then, re-install the battery cover.
Notice:
1. When inserting the SIM card, make sure the beveled corner matches up with
the card holder.
2. If you can not switch on the phone after installing the battery, please check
the battery power or re-install the battery.
Charge The Battery
Your phone is powered by a rechargeable Li-ion battery. A travel
charger is supplied with the phone when you purchase. When
charging is in progress, you can still use your phone as usual.
CHARGE WITH A TRAVEL CHARGER
(1) Install the battery properly.

(2) Plug the connector of the travel adapter into the jack at t
he bottom of the phone.
(3) Plug the adapter into a standard AC wall outlet.
(4) If your phone is on, the battery power indicator appears on the
screen and starts scrolling.
(5) When battery charge is complete, disconnect the charger from
the standard wall outlet first and then from the phone.
Notice:
1. If the battery power is completely used up, the battery power indicator
appears 2 or 3 minutes after you start charging. In general, the charging
time should be 2 to 5 hours.
2. The full performance of a new battery is achieved only after two or three
complete charge and discharge cycles. It’s suggested that each of the first
two or three charging times lasts for over 10 hours. Don’t charge the
battery until the battery charge gets too low to operate the phone.
3.When the phone battery is removed or the battery power gets too low,
reinstall a new one or charge the battery as soon as possible; otherwise,
the phone time will be reset.
Important:
Use batteries and chargers approved by Meridian Mobile for use only. Using
unapproved batteries or chargers may cause explosion.

Battery Strength Indicator
When the battery is low, the empty battery icon blinks, the
“Battery low” message displays on the screen and a warning tone
sounds.
When the battery charge level is too low for operation, the phone
switches itself off and all data that has not been saved will be lost.
Switch On/Off Your Phone
SWITCH THE PHONE ON
Press and hold to switch on the phone.
Warning:
Do not switch the phone on or activate any auto power-on function when
wireless phone use is prohibited or when it may cause interference or danger.

Warning:
Your phone has a built-in antenna. Do not touch the antenna unnecessarily
when the phone is switched on; otherwise, it may affect call quality and may
cause the phone to operate at a higher power level than otherwise needed.
If your phone asks for a PIN code, enter the PIN code. You can
obtaine the PIN code from your service provider. The default
code is 0000.
If you enter an incorrect PIN code three times in succession, PIN
code is locked. You need to enter a PUK code to unlock it. Read
“Safety information” on page 49 for more details.

phone. You can also set a time for the phone to automatically switch
itself off by using [Auto power] menu. Read “Auto power” on page
38 for details
Shortcut Keys
You can use some shortcut keys to access specific menus directly
from the standby mode. Refer to the table below for shortcut keys
available with your phone.

3.Call Functions
Make a call
Before making a call, check the signal strength to make sure you
are in a place with strong enough signal for communication.
(1) In the standby mode, enter the area code and phone number.
(2) Press to dial.
Notice:
When entering a phone number, you can press and hold to insert a
pause (P) between the switchboard and the extension number. The extension
number will be dialed after the switchboard number is put through.
MAKE AN INTERNATIONAL CALL
Enter the country code, area code and phone number. Then, press
to dial. If necessary, press and hold to insert a Plus (+)
symbol before entering the country code.
HOLD A CALL AND MAKE ANOTHER (NETWORK SERVICE)
You can put the current call on hold, and then make another call.
(1) When you are on a call, use the keypad to enter another phone
number.
(2) Press to make the new call and the first call is
automatically put on hold.
SWITCH CALLS (NETWORK SERVICE)
When you have one active call and one on-hold call, you can press

key and select[Swap]to switch between the active call and the
on-hold one.
USE SMART DIAL
In the standby mode, enter a phone number and press to
access the following options:
Append number: Enter [Smart dial].
Send message: Edit a message to be sent to the phone number
you entered.
Guide: Turn on or off the smart dial guide. When set to [On], the
phone displays “*: smart dial” when you enter any numbers in the
standby mode.
REDIAL A DIALED CALL
In the standby mode, press to open a list of your recent
outgoing calls. Select your desired call record and press to
dial.
LISTEN TO YOUR VOICEMAIL
When you have a new voice message, a warning tone sounds. You
can dial the voice mail box number to listen to the voice message
received.
In the standby mode, press and hold key to dial the voice
mailbox number.
MAKE AN EMERGENCY CALL
Enter the emergency phone number and press to dial.
ADJUST CALL VOLUME
During a call, you can simply press / to adjust the call volume,
