2. Positioning the WSAB1 External Sounder
The WSAB1 is a wireless external sounder powered by natural daylight. Therefore it is recommended that

from roof overhangs or shadows from trees. Because the sounder is wireless it is also recommended to
avoid positions close to metal gutters or drainpipes.
3. Mounting the WSAB1 Converter
The WSAB1 converter should be mounted vertically adjacent to the alarm control panel.
Connect the following terminals:
WSAB1 Converter Alarm Control Panel
+12v Permanent 12v Supply
GND Permanent 0v Supply
Bell Siren Trigger Output
STB Strobe Trigger Output
TAMP Tamper Return
F/L Fault Circuit / Zone

(See Section 7 & 8)
4. Mounting the WSAB1 External Sounder.
Mount theWSAB1 externally using fixings applicable to the mounting surface. Ensure that an additional
screw is used adjacent to the tamper switch to provide wall removal detection.
5. Programming the WSAB1
The WSAB1 converter and sounder are already pre-programmed. Normally you do not need to
reprogram.
To reprogram:
1. Switch off the Sounder battery switch. Ensure both batteries are connected.

colour and then switch off to indicate the converter has reset.
4. Press the learn button once. The LED on the converter will light a green colour for 20 seconds.
5. Switch on the Sounder battery switch during the 20 seconds. The converter LED will flash twice to
indicate the sounder is programmed.

1. Switch off both Sounders battery switch.
2. Ensure the converter is connected to panel
3. Press the converter ‘Learn’ button for 5 to 10 seconds. The LED on the converter will light a green

7. Supervision
The WSAB1 sounder will send supervisory signals to the converter every hour to ensure integrity of the
radio link.
If the converter does not receive any supervisory signals from the WSAB1 sounder within 4 consecutive
hours a fault signal will be generated at the fault output.
8. Low Battery Signal
If the low battery jumper is set to ‘on’ then during a low battery condition a red LED will signal on the
converter and a fault signal will be generated at the fault output.
