HVS-49PSO units and their accessories are fully inspected and adjusted prior to shipment.
This manual is intended to help the user easily operate this product and make full use of its functions
during operation. Before connecting or operating your unit, read this operation manual thoroughly to
ensure you understand the product. Afterwards, store this manual in a safe place for future reference.

1. Prior to Starting
The HVS-49PSO power supply unit is specifically designed for HVS-492OU, HVS-492WOU, and
HVS-492ROU units. A standard HVS-492OU/HVS-492WOU/HVS-492ROU comes with a single power
supply unit installed into one of its two power slots. The optional HVS-49PSO power supply unit allows
you to operate the unit continuously, even if one power supply unit fails.
CAUTION
Installing this option, which requires accessing the unit interior by opening the
panel, should only be done by qualified technical personnel. Power should be
turned OFF and all power cords disconnected from the unit before performing
this installation.

2. Installing the HVS-49PSO
2-1. Removing the Power Supply Slot Blank Panel
Remove the two screws on the blank panel covering power slot 2 on the right side of the back
panel, then remove the blank panel.

2-2. Installing the Redundant Power Supply Unit
1) Unpack the redundant power supply unit from its packing. Align and carefully insert the unit
into its slot.
2) Make sure the unit is inserted completely and properly, then secure the unit with the screws as
shown below
2-3. Verifying the Power LED
1) Connect all AC cords, then turn both power supply switches on.
2) Verify that both POWER1 and POWER2 LEDs are lit green.
IMPORTANT
Contact your sales representative if the POWER LEDs do not light green, which likely
indicates a problem in the power supply unit/s.

3. Replacing Power Supply Units
3-1. Removing a Power Supply Unit
This procedure is needed only when replacing an existing defective power supply unit.
1) Unfasten the two screws securing the defective power unit as shown below.
2) Gently pull the power unit straight out, grasping the unfastened screws, until it is completely
removed from the main unit.
3-2. Installing a Replacement Power Supply Unit
1) Unpack the replacement power supply unit from its packing. Align and carefully insert the
power supply unit into its slot.
2) Make sure the unit is inserted completely and properly, then secure the unit with the screws as
shown below

3-3. Verifying the Power LED
1) Connect all AC cords, then turn both power supply switches on.
2) Verify that both POWER1 and POWER2 LEDs are lit green.
IMPORTANT
Contact your sales representative if the POWER LEDs do not light green, which likely
indicates a problem in the power supply unit/s.
