Upon Receipt
MV-4300PS units and their accessories are fully inspected and adjusted prior to shipment. Check your
received items against the packing lists below. Check to ensure no damage has occurred during
shipment. If damage has occurred, or items are missing, inform your supplier immediately.

Installing the AC Cord Retention Clip
Secure the AC cord with the supplied ladder strap/retention clip assembly to prevent accidental
removal from the unit.
Installing the clip
1) Wrap the retention clip around the AC cord (with the anchor of the ladder strap toward the
unit).
2) Insert the anchor into the hole next to the AC IN socket.
3) Lightly fasten the clip around the AC cord.
4) Plug in the power cord.
5) Slide the clip on the ladder strap toward the plug.
6) Fasten the clip tightly.
7) Gently pull on the AC cord to ensure it is secured.
Unpluging the AC cord
1) Push the tab on the retention clip up to unfasten the clip.
2) Push the tab on the ladder strap up and slide the clip back.
3) Unplug the AC cord.

1. MV-4300PS (Option) Installation
IMPORTANT
To avoid electric shock, make sure that the grounding terminal is grounded before operation and/or
pull out the AC cable from the outlet.
A redundant power supply unit can be installed while the power is on, although the main unit’s power
should normally be turned off when doing so.
MV-4300 Series supports hot swappable power supplies.
How to install a new MV-4300PS into the MV-4300 Series is explained below.
(1) Completely release the screw on the right side of the front panel and open the front panel toward
the left.

(2) Remove the screws on both sides of the blank panel as shown and remove the blank panel.

(3) Insert the power supply unit (MV-4300PS) all the way to the end.
(4) Fasten the screws on both sides of the power supply (MV-4300PS).
(5) Close the front panel and refasten the screw removed from Step (1) on the right side.
(6) Plug in the AC cord into the back adapter and install the AC cord clamp.

2. Replacing a Power Supply Unit
How to replace standard Power Supply Unit 1 of an MV-4300 Series unit to a new one is explained
below.
When a Power Supply Unit 2 (MV-4300PS) is installed, perform replacement while the main unit’s power
is on.
(1) Turn off the POWER1 power supply switch.
(2) Completely release the screw on the right side of the front panel and open the front panel toward
the left.
(3) Remove the screws on both sides of Power Supply 1 and pull out the power supply unit slowly.

(4) Insert the new power supply unit (MV-4300PS) all the way to the end.
(5) Fasten the screws on both sides of the new power supply (MV-4300PS).
(6) Close the front panel and refasten the screw removed from Step (2) on the right side.
(7) Turn the POWER1 power switch on.
(8) Verify that the POWER1 status lamp on the front panel lights.
MV-4300PS replacement is now complete.
