Stunning in design and simplicity
itself to use, this diminutive little
unit is stuffed with the latest in
digital signal processing
technology.

Analogue signals are converted
into digital via 20-bit Delta-Sigma
converters which feature a 64x
oversampling technique to
enhance sonic integrity. From there
on, all data is processed at full
24-bit resolution with a 44.1kHz
sampling rate.
Quality digital processing doesn’t
come any better than this.

And Fostex have made all this
sophisticated technology easy to
master utilising illuminated
buttons and a large LCD graphic
screen clearly displaying all mix
and effects settings.
4 inputs are provided (2 mic/line, 2
line), each featuring individual
2-band shelving equalisation, pan,
level and internal effects send,
pre-post switching control, effect
type and parameter for each effect
on each channel. - All of which can
be automated by means of the 20
‘mix scene’ memory.
Stereo analogue and digital
(S/P-DIF) outputs are available with
a headphone output for monitoring.
This makes the VM04 ideal for
use as a keyboard sub mixer, a
small PA mixer, for adding
simultaneous recording tracks and
digital effects to multitrackers
such as the FD-4 and FD-8 and for
digital recording direct to a DAT
or professional CD-R.

The innovative A.S.P. technology
combines a special Harmonics
Feedback Algorithm (H.F.A.) with
Hi-Density Logarithmic Processing
(H.D.L.P.), to offer higher gain in the
early reflection characteristic and
ambient effects which are free from
the ‘grittiness’ associated with
lesser technologies.
