WARNING
Risk of fatal injury from electrocution
Damaged power cords, lines or plug connections can lead to electrocution.
aDo not connect any damaged power cords, lines or plug connections to
the power supply.
bReplace damaged power cables, lines or plug connections.
If the power cord is permanently attached, contact the service techni-
cian. If the power cord is not permanently attached, order and use a new,
original power cord.
cEnsure that the machine and the power cord are not near any hot sur-
faces such as gas or electric stoves or ovens.
dEnsure that the power cord is not pinched and does not chafe on sharp
edges.
WARNING
Risk of fatal injury from electrocution
Disconnect the device from the power supply before cleaning, maintaining or
replacing parts. Secure the disconnection against reconnection.

WARNING
R600a is used as a refrigerant.
Therefore, special precautions must be taken:
– Installation may only be performed by an authorized Franke specialist.
– The device must be set up in an environment with sufficient space.
– Do not use the device if it seems to be damaged.
– To avoid damages of the refrigeration circuit, do not use mechanical de-
vices or any other means to accelerate the defrosting process.
– Keep ventilation openings always free of obstacles.
– In case of refrigerant leaks, avoid any naked flames. Move anything
flammable away from the device and ventilate the room immediately.
– Do not store explosive substances such as aerosol cans containing a
flammable propellant in the cooling unit.
Do not place or use any electrical appliances inside the cooling unit.
In case of a malfunction, disconnect the cooling unit from the power supply.
Maintenance work may be performed by qualified service personnel only.
Some parts of the condensing unit inside the cooling unit may be hot or
sharp-edged. Before performing maintenance work, disconnect the power
supply, secure against accidental reconnection and wait for the device to
cool down. When performing maintenance work, always wear appropriate per-
sonal protective equipment compliant with valid regulations.
Do not expose the cooling unit to jets of water and never use harmful sub-
stances for cleaning.
Do not expose the cooling unit to sources of heat.

In case of fire, use powder extinguishers.
Dispose of packaging material in accordance with locally applicable regula-
tions and guidelines.
CAUTION
Irritation from cleaners
Cleaning tablets, milk system cleaning agent, and descaler can lead to irrita-
tions.
aObserve the hazard warnings on the label of the respective cleaner.
bAvoid contact with your eyes and skin.
cWash your hands after coming into contact with cleaner.
dCleaners must not find their way into drinks.
CAUTION
Spoiled milk
Spoiled milk could represent a health hazard.
aUse only fresh, refrigerated milk.
bObserve the storage conditions for milk.
cObserve the shelf life of the milk used.
CAUTION
Germs in unpasteurized milk
Germs in unpasteurized milk could pose a health hazard.
aDo not use any unpasteurized milk.
bOnly use pasteurized or long-life milk.

NOTICE
Spoiled milk
Insufficient cooling or hygiene can cause milk to spoil.
aOnly use pre-cooled milk (2.0−5.0 °C).
bOnly store milk in the cooling unit when the cooling unit is in operation.
When the cooling unit is not in operation, e.g. overnight, store the milk in
a refrigerator.
cClean the machine and cooling unit once a day.
dOnly touch the suction hose, the inside of the milk container, and the milk
lid after sanitizing your hands, or wear disposable gloves.
ePlace the container lid with the suction hose on a clean surface only.
NOTICE
Damage to the machine
Connection lines could be damaged by tensile load.
Incoming moisture could cause damage.

An unsuitable location could lead to damage.
aNever pull on the connection lines.
bLay the connection lines in such a way that they do not form tripping haz-
ards.
cDo not use jets of water or steam for cleaning.
dDo not expose the machine to the elements, such as rain, frost or direct
sunlight.
ePlace the machine only on a level, stable subsurface.

2 INSTRUCTIONS
2.1 Installation
Installation may only be performed by an authorized Franke specialist.
Tasks
– Unpack the device
– Check that the required free space (50 mm) has been left behind the de-
vice
– Check the electrical power connection
– Connect connection lines and connection hoses
– Attach the device
– Connect the power supply
– Switch on the device
– Put the device into operation with the coffee machine
2.2 Intended use
– The cooling unit is used exclusively to keep milk cool for the preparation
of coffee drinks with a Franke coffee machine.
– Only use pre-cooled milk.
– Remove the milk when the cooling unit is not in use. Store the milk in a
suitable cooling unit.
– Use only the recommended cleaners. Other cleaners may leave residues
in the milk system.
– The cooling unit is intended exclusively for operation indoors.
– Please also observe the Declaration of Conformity delivered with the de-
vice.

2.3 Non-authorized use
– Children under the age of 8 years are not permitted
to use the device.
– Children or persons who are challenged with respect
to physical, sensory or mental abilities must not use
the device except under supervision, nor should they
play with the device.
– Alcoholic or explosive substances must not be used or stored in the ma-
chine.
– Do not use the machine:
– If you are not familiar with its functions.
– If the machine, power cord or connection lines are damaged.
– If the machine has not been cleaned or filled as specified.
2.4 Function
The cooling unit has the following functions:
– Keeping the milk cool
– Cooling temperature adjustable
– Fill level monitoring for milk
– Preventing unauthorized access via a lockable door
2.5 Operation and maintenance
Regular cleaning is a prerequisite for the pure and safe enjoyment of milk
drinks. You can find more detailed information on operating, configuring,
cleaning and caring for your cooling unit in user manual supplied with your
coffee machine.

WARNING

Disconnect the device from the power supply before cleaning, maintaining or
replacing parts. Secure the disconnection against reconnection.
Cleaning
Clean the milk system daily or when prompted by the coffee machine. Clean
the device and device parts with warm water and a mild cleaner. Use a dry
cloth for drying or leave to air-dry. Do not use hot air.
Clean daily:
• Interior chamber, inner side of the door and lip seal
• Milk container
• Intake hose
2.6 Malfunctions
Error messages will appear on the coffee machine's display in the case of
malfunctions. The error messages contain information regarding the cause
and resolution of the malfunction.
2.7 Transport, storage, decommissioning
– Clean the device
– Secure the device against accidents and do not set it up in an inclined
position
– Use suitable packaging for transport and storage
– Comply with the ambient conditions provided in the technical data

2.8 Disposal
– Observe the information on the label when disposing of any unused
cleaning agent.
The machine complies with European Directive 2012/19/EU regarding Waste
Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and must not be disposed of with
household waste.
Dispose of electronic parts separately.
Dispose of plastic parts in accordance with their marking.
When decommissioned, the cooling unit must not be disposed of as municipal
waste but has to be taken to a refuse recycling center. This is indicated by the
symbol on the product label.
Use recycling centers that are certified according to valid regulations.
If not correctly disposed of, the device can be harmful to the environment due
to specific substances it contains. The refrigerant used in the cooling unit
must not be disposed of with household waste.
Incorrect or illegal disposal will lead to severe administrative and/or criminal
penalties, as envisaged by valid laws.
