thermometer.Turnon thehotwaterfaucetnearest .low,orifyourwatertravelsalongdistancefromwater
thedishwasher.Putthethermometerin aglassand heatertodishwasher,youmayneedtosetyourwater
letthewaterruncontinuouslyintotheglassuntilthe heater’sthermostatup.Ifyouhavenotusedhotwater
temperaturestopsrising.Ifthewatertemperatureis forsometime,thewaterinthepipeswillbecold.Turn
below120”F.,adjustyourwaterheater. onthehotwaterfaucetatthesinkandallowittorun
untilthewaterishot.Thenstartthedishwasher.If
you’verecentlydonelaundryorrunhotwaterfor

Isyourwater“hard”or “soft”?Withhardwater,you
needextradetergenttogetdishesclean.Withsoftwater,
youneedlessdetergent.
Yourwaterdepartmentcantellyou how hard your
wateris.Socanyourcountyextensionagentoryour
area’swatersoftenercompany.Justcallandaskthem
howmany“grains”ofhardnessthereareinyourwater.
Toomuchdetergentwithsoftwaternotonlywastes
money,itcanbeharmful.Itcancauseapermanent
cloudinessofglassware,called“etching.”Anot.itside
layerofglassisetchedaway!Ofcourse,thistakessome
time.Butwhytakeachancewhenit’seasytofindoutthe
hardnessofyourwater.
Keepyour detergentfreshand dry. Underthesink
isn’tagoodplacetostoredetergentbecausethereistoo
muchmoisture.Don’tputpowderdetergentintothe
dispenseruntilyou’rereadytowashdishes,either.(It
won’tbefreshORdry.)
Hyour powderdetergentgetsold orlumpy,throwit
away.Olddetergentoftenwon’tdissolve.Ifyouusea
liquiddishwasherdetergent,theseprecautionsarenot
necessarybecauseliquiddetergentsdon’t“lump”as
theyageorcomeincontactwithmoisture.

6. Replace the entire access assembly by hanging
it back on the Fetainingtabs. Hold the access
assembly in place and replace attachment screws.
