Under certain conditions hydrogen gas may be produced in a water heater that has not been used for

Checkthe Water Temperature
Tile entering water must be at least 120°1_2 and
not more than 150°E, fi)r effective cleaning and to
prevent dish damage. Check tile water temperature
with a candy or meat them_omete_: Turn on tile
hot vaster fimcet nearest tile dishwasher; place tile
theHnometer in a glass and let the water run
continuously into tile glass until tile temperature
stops rising.

Jet-Dry _ or Cascade Rinse Aid *_rinse agent removes
spots and prevents new fihn buildup on your
dishes, glasses, flatware, cookware and plastic.
Filling the Dispenser
Fill the rinse agent dispenser tmtil it reaches the
bottom of lip inside the opening. Replace cap.
To check if rinse agent is needed, remove the cap
and look into the dispensex;
A fulldispensershouldlastaboutonemonth.
If rinse agent spi//s, wipe up the excess.
ProperUseof Detergent
Use only detergent sl)ecifically ma)le fin" use in
dislmashers. Cascade _, Cascade ®Complete and
Electrasol ®Automatic Dishwashing Detergents
have been apl)rove)l fi)r rise iI) all GE dislm_ashers.
Kee t) your detergent fl'esh and dr), Don't i)ut i)owder
detergent into fl_e dispenser until votl're ready to
_tsh dishes.
The amount (ff detergent to use depends on
whether your water is hard or soft. With hard
wateL you need extra detergent, With soft wateL
you need less detergent,

Because so many detergent contninex_ look alike,
store the dishwasher detexgent in aseparate space
fi'om all other cleanex_. Show anvone who ram'
use the dishwasher the correct deteigent and
where it is stored.

adishwashing detexgent that is not fimn ulated
to work with dishwashers.

Upper Rack
The upper rack is fin" glasses, cups and
sauce_s. Cups and glasses fit best along
the sides. This is also a secure place for
dishwashe>sale plastics. The upper rack is
good fin" all kinds oI odd-shaped utensils.
Saucepans, mi_ng bowls and other items
should be placed tace down.

Wash Tower
Keepthe center areaclear in the lower rack.
The wash tower rises through the center of
the lower rack during the wash and rinse
portions of the cycle.

item such as a pot or dish handle extend
through the bottom rack. This could block
the wash am/and cause poor washing
results.

Silverware Basket
Put flatware in the removable basket with
fork and knife handles up to protect your
hands. Place spoons in the basket with
handles down. Mix knives, tbr!<s and spoons
so they don't nest together: Distribute
evenly. Small plastic items, such as
measuring spoons and lids fl'om small
containe_, should go in the bottom of the
silverware basket with silverware on top.

Toclean the control panel use a lightly dampened cloth then dry thoroughly. Toclean the exterior use a good

Never use sharp object, scouring pads or harsh cleaners on any part of the dishwasher.
