This manual contains a number of precautions to follow in order to help promote safe use of this equipment.

To ensure safe operation, the general safety tips below must be followed.
• DISCONNECT the scale from the power source (unplug) before servicing or opening
• ONLY trained and qualied service personnel should attempt repairs
• ONLY use correct type and rating of fuses and parts
• NEVER immerse the scale in water or spray with hose
• DO NOT put the scale in a dishwasher
GROUNDING
This machine is provided with a three prong grounding plug. The outlet to which this plug is connected must be
properly grounded. If the receptacle is not the proper grounding type, contact an electrician. Do not, under any
circumstances, cut or remove the third (ground prong) from the power cord or use any adapter plug (Figure 5-1
and Figure 5-2).

Make sure the scale is placed on a stable, at surface.
Avoid the following areas when installing the machine:
• Areas subject to high temperatures or high humidity
• Areas exposed to direct sunlight
• Areas where water or other liquids can be easily spilled on the machine
• Areas subject to excessive vibration or unstable surfaces
• Areas exposed to direct cold air
• Areas subject to low temperatures
• Areas subject to a lot of dirt
• Areas with large voltage uctuations
Check the level indicator to make sure the scale is level. If the machine is not level, weighing may not be
accurate.
To adjust the machine to a level position, rotate the four adjustment feet until the level bubble is completely
centered in the round level indicator.
Plug the power cord into the AC power outlet on the bottom side of the scale.

Use only Globe Food Labels. Damage to thermal head can occur. To order labels, contact
a local Globe Representative or Globe Food Equipment.
IMPORTANT: Before installing a new roll of labels, remove 5 to 6 blank labels
so only backing paper is fed through the printer.
Loading Roll of Labels
1. Open the side cover.
2. Release the printer head by pushing the release lever down. See Figure 7-1.
3. Make sure the stopper lever of the roll holder is pulled down.
4. Load the label roll onto the roll holder.
5. Insert the label paper (with the label side up) under the guide.
6. Continue to pull the label paper through and make sure it is fed over the
metal bar shown in Figure 7-2 and under the bar*. See Figure 7-1.
7. Turn the winding bobbin counter clockwise so the slot is on the top. See
Figure 7-3.
8. Insert the paper under the slot on the winding bobbin. See Figure 7-3.
9. Pull up on the stopper lever, then slide it inwards to secure the label roll.
10. Make sure the label paper is against the edge**. See Figure 7-1.
11. Push down on the lock lever until the print head locks into position.
12. With the scale plugged in and turned on, press the Feed key on the keypad
once or twice in order to securely turn the paper around the winding bobbin.
Continue to press the Feed button until the labels are ejected
from the printer.
NOTE: If you receive an error message (1011), it indicates that the label is not in the proper position.
Press the CLR key then press the Feed key again to feed the labels through the printer. You
may need to do this step a couple of times.

1. Open the side cover.
2. Release the printer head by pushing down on the release lever. See Figure 8-1.
3. Pull the winding bobbin lever outwards to loosen the paper wound around the winding bobbin; then remove
the paper from the winding bobbin.
4. Pull the stopper lever of the roll holder to make it straight; then remove the label roll from the path and the roll
holder.

Changing Current Date And Time
IMPORTANT: Beforeusingthescaleforthersttime,followthesestepstomakesurethatthecurrent
date and time is displayed.
1. Make sure the scale is plugged in, turned on and there is nothing on the weigh platter.
NOTE: The “Clock Check” screen will display. See Figure 8-2.
2. Press the Enter key on the keypad to proceed.
3. Key in 4000 and press the Mode key. The display will show: C00 ADJUST
4. Press the Enter key. Display will show : C01 DATE TIME
5. Key in 111111 and press the PLU key.
6. Press the Enter key. Display will show: C01-01 DATE and date displayed
7. Key in new date data.
Example: April 1, 2015
Key in 04012015
8. Press the Enter key. The date will be displayed as month, day and year. If date is correct, press the Enter
key. If not correct, key in the new date and press the Enter key. Display will show: C01-02 TIME and time
displayed

9. The time will be displayed as military time with time separators between the hour, minute and seconds. If the
time is correct, press the Enter key. If not correct, key in the new time (hour, minute, seconds) and press the
Enter key.
10. After the date and time have been entered, press the Mode key. Display will show 19001-000 ENT or CLR
11. Press the Mode key three times to return to normal operation.
NOTE: To make sure that the date and time is correct, power off the scale and then power on the
scale to view the “Clock Check” screen.
Entering Shop Name And Address (optional)
1. Make sure the scale is plugged in, turned on, and there is nothing on
the weigh platter.
2. Key in 9000 and press the Mode key. The display will show: P00
PROGRAM
3. Key in 5 and press the ENTER key. Display will show: P06 STORE
4. Key in 111111 and press the PLU key. Display will show: P06 STORE
5. Press the Enter key. Display will show: P06-00 NO. 0000 >No<
6. Press the Enter key. Display will show P06-01 NAME >ED
7. Press the Edit key. Display will show 13001-0000 ENT or CLR.
8. Press the Enter key. Display will show INP 0001-0000-00

9. Use the Scale Set-Up keysheet to key in the store name
(48 character maximum).
NOTE: Only one character of the store name will display at a time. Use the right arrow key on the
Scale Set-Up keysheet to cycle through the letters of the store name.
NOTE: To enter one of the symbols (not a letter), select the symbol key. If the symbol needed is on the
top of the symbol key, select the shift key then the appropriate symbol key.
NOTE: To delete a character that is not needed, press the Back Space key or arrow keys and Char
Delete key.
10. After the store name has been entered, press the Mode key. Display will show 19001-0000 ENT or CLR
NOTE: Press Enter to save or CLR to cancel.
11. Press the Enter key. Display will show: P06-00 NO. 0001 >No<
12. Press the down arrow on the Scale Set-Up keysheet two times. Display will show: P06-02 ADDRESS >ED
13. Press the Edit key. Display will show INP 0001-0000-00
14. Use the Scale Set-Up keysheet to key in the store address (this includes the street address, city, state, and zip)
(48 character maximum).
NOTE: To enter one of the symbols (not a letter), select the symbol key. If the symbol needed is on the

Setting Up PLUs
1. Make sure the scale is plugged in, turned on and there is nothing on the platter.
2. Key in 9000 and press the Mode key. Display will show: P00 PROGRAM
3. Press the Enter key. Display will show: P01 PLU
4. Key in 111111 and press the PLU key.
5. Press the Enter key. Display will show: P01-00 PLU >No<
6. Key in the PLU number (5 digit maximum) and press the PLU key. Display will show: 13001-0000 ENT OR
CLR.
NOTE: Press the Enter key to accept the PLU number or the CLR key to cancel. CLR will return you to
the PLU number entry screen and Enter will move forward to the top of the PLU entry menu.
7. Display will show: P01-01 <SALE1>
8. Press the Edit key. See Figure 10-1. Display will show: INP 0001-0000 00
9. Use the Scale Set-Up Keysheet to key in the PLU name (24 character
maximum per line, 2 line maximum, e.g. GROUND BEEF, BANANAS). See
Figure 10-2.
10. Enter the rst line of data. If you only want one line of data, then press the
Enter key. If you want a second line of data, press the New Line key. Enter
the second line of data, and press the Enter key to complete. See Figure
10-3. Display will show: P01-01 <SALE1>
11. Press the Enter key. Display will show: P01-01-01 SALES 0
12. Key in 0 if the PLU is a weighing price item. Key in 1 if the PLU is a xed
price item.
NOTE:Forweighingpriceitems,proceedtostep13.Forxedprice
items, proceed to step 18.
13. Press the Enter key. Display will show: P01-01-04 PRICE 0.00
14. Key in the unit price (5 digit maximum do NOT include decimal) and press
the Enter key.
15. Press the Enter key again. Display will show: P01-01-10 TARE 0.000
16. Key in the tare weight (4 digit maximum/2 digit minimum - tare weight is a
three place decimal that must end in 0 or 5) or 0 if none and press the Enter
key two times. Display will show: P01-01-12 P TARE 0.0
NOTE: For a detailed explanation of tares, refer to the Tare Weight
section.
17. Key in the tare percentage (3 digit maximum) or 0 if none and press the
Enter key.
NOTE: For weighing price items, proceed to step 26.
18. Press the Enter key. Display will show: P01-01-04 PRICE 0.00
19. Key in the unit price (5 digit maximum) and press the Enter key.
20. Press the Enter key again. Display will show: P01-01-06 QTY 0
21. Key in quantity. Press the Enter key.
22. Press the Enter key again. Display will show: P01-01-07 UNIT TYPE 0
23. Key in unit type. Press the Enter key.

NOTE: The barcode can be the PLU number, which the scale defaults to, or the POS (point of sale)
number. If the PLU number is to be in the barcode simply press the Enter key. If the POS
number is to be in the barcode, key in the POS number (5 digit maximum) and press the Enter
key. The scale can be reprogrammed to accept a 6 digit PLU or POS number. Contact Globe’s
Technical Service Department for assistance.
37. Press the Mode key. Display will show: 19001-0000 ENT OR CLR.
NOTE: Press the Enter key to save or the CLR key to cancel.
38. Press the Mode key. Display will show: P01 PLU
39. Repeat steps 3 through 37 to enter additional PLU numbers. When complete, press the Mode key twice to
return to normal operation.
Deleting A PLU
1. Make sure the scale is plugged in, turned on and there is nothing on the platter.
2. Key in 9000 and press the Mode key. The display will show: P00 PROGRAM
3. Key in 1 and press the Enter key. Display will show: P01 PLU
4. Key in 111111 and press the PLU key.
5. Press the Enter key. Display will show: P01-00 PLU >No.<
6. Press the down arrow key two times. Display will show: P01-00 No. 1 >PL
NOTE: Use the down arrow to select the PLU number to delete.
7. Press the →0← Zero key. Display will show: 13002-0000 ENT OR CLR.
NOTE: Press the Enter key to save or the CLR key to cancel.
8. Press the Enter key.
9. Press the Mode key three times to return to normal operation.

Setting Up PLU Preset Keys
1. Make sure the scale is plugged in, turned on and there is nothing on the
weigh platter.
2. Key in 9000 and press the Mode key. Display will show: P00 PROGRAM
3. Key in 4 and press the Enter key. Display will show: P04 PRESET KEY
4. Key in 111111 and press the PLU key. Display will show: P04 PRESET KEY
5. Press the Enter key. Display will show: P04-01 000 0 000
6. Press the desired preset key. See Figure 12-1.
NOTE: Make sure to mark the selected preset key with the PLU name
on the Operating Keysheet. See Figure 12-2.
NOTE: Two values can be stored on each preset key. The Lower Level
preset function key is used to switch between upper and lower
level. Refer to Operating Instructions (Function Keys).
7. Key in 1 for the preset function key ag number and press the Enter key.
8. Key in PLU number and press the desired preset key. See Figure 12-3.
9. Repeat step 5 through 8 to set up additional keys. When completed,
press the Mode key three times to return to normal operation.
NOTE: In normal operation, use the Lower Level preset function key
to switch between upper and lower level.
Setting Up Cassette Preset Functions Keys
NOTE: Up to seven cassette’s can be programed. Each cassette
contains the label spec and label format for a label.
Once you have setup the cassettes, you can change your label
format by selecting the applicable cassette preset key.
1. Make sure the scale is plugged in, turned on and there is nothing on the
weigh platter.
2. Key in 9000 and press the Mode key. Display will show: P00 PROGRAM
3. Key in 4 and press the Enter key. Display will show: P04 PRESET KEY
4. Key in 111111 and press the PLU key.
5. Press the Enter key. Display will show: P04-01 000 0 000
6. Press the desired preset key. See Figure 12-4.
NOTE: Make sure to mark the selected preset key with the PLU name
on the Operating Keysheet. See Figure 12-2.
7. Key in 435 for the preset function key ag number and press the Enter key.
Display will show: P04-01 435 74 0
8. Key in Cassette number. Press the desired preset key. See Figure 12-5.
9. Press the Mode key three times to return to normal operation.

8. Key in weight of the container. Press the desired preset key. See Figure
13-3.
NOTE: Weight of the container must be entered in 3 or more decimal
places. Example, if the weight of the container is 0.5 pounds,
enter 500 with no decimal places. If the weight of the
container is 1.5 pounds enter 1500 with no decimal places.
9. Press the Mode key three times to return to normal operation.

1. Make sure the scale is plugged in, turned on, and there is nothing on the weigh platter.
2. Key in 9000 and press the Mode key. The display will show: P00 PROGRAM
3. Key in 4 and press the Enter key. Display will show: P04 PRESET KEY
4. Key in 111111 and press the PLU key. Display will show: P04 PRESET KEY
5. Press the Enter key. Display will show: P04-01 000 0 000
6. Place the Operating Keysheet over the Scale Set-Up Keysheet. Press the desired preset key. Remove the
Operating Keysheet and note which preset key was used.
7. Key in the desired preset function key ag number (see list below), press the Enter key.
8. Key in 0 (Warning: Press the number 0, below number 1, NOT the →0←Zero key.) and then press the preset
key again to recognize the entry as the function key. Refer to Operating Instructions (Function Keys).
NOTE: Display will not change. To make sure that the preset key is set, select any other key on the
scale set-up keysheet and then the desired preset key again. Display should show the
selectedkeywiththepresetfunctionkeyagjustkeyedin.
NOTE: Two values can be stored on each preset key. The Lower Level preset function key is used to
switch between upper and lower level.

9. Repeat steps 6 and 8 to set up additional keys. When completed press the Mode key three times to return to
normal operation.
Deleting Preset Keys
IMPORTANT: This procedure will delete ALL preset keys at once!
1. Make sure the scale is plugged in, turned on and there is nothing on the weigh platter.
2. Key in 9000 and press the Mode key. Display will show: P00 PROGRAM
3. Key in 4 and press the Enter key. Display will show: P04 PRESET KEY
4. Key in 111111 and press the PLU key. Display will show: P04 PRESET KEY
5. Press the Enter key.
6. Press the →0← Zero key. Display will show 14033-0000 ENT OR CLR
Note: Press the Enter key to execute or the CLR key to stop.
7. There will be a long beep which signals that all preset keys have been deleted.
8. Press the Mode key three times to return to normal operation.

Cassette Set Up for Standard (E11) Labels
Use Cassette’s to select different label sizes. After a Cassette preset function key has been assigned, follow the
steps below to program the label spec and label format for each cassette.
Before the Standard (E11) labels can be used, the scale needs to be set up for the new label size.
1. Load the labels. Refer to Loading/Unloading Labels.
2. Make sure nothing is on the weigh platter.
3. Select the desired Cassette preset function key.
NOTE: Scale will beep two times to indicate Cassette preset function key has been selected.
4. Key in 6000 and press the Mode key. Display will show: B00 SETUP
5. Enter 951753 and press the PLU key.
6. Key in 11 and press the Enter key. Display will show: B11 CASSETTE
7. Press the Enter key. The display will show: B11-01 CAST No. “01”
NOTE: Up to seven cassettes can be programed. Each cassette contains the label spec and label
format for a label.
8. Press the down arrow key on the Scale Set-Up Keysheet three times. Display will show: B11-04 FMT No.
“001”
9. Key in format number “001” and press the Enter key. Display will show: B11-04 FMT No. 001
10. Press the End key. Display will show: B11 CASSETTE
11. Press the down arrow key on the Scale Set-Up Keysheet one time. Display will show: B12 LABEL SPEC
12. Press the Enter key. Display will show: B12-01 LABEL No. “01”
13. Use the down arrow key on the Scale Set-Up Keysheet to select B12-12 LABEL GAP 2.0 mm
NOTE:Labelgapisthepitchbetweenlabels.Dependingonthelabel,asmalladjustmentmayneedto
be made.
14. Press the down arrow key on the Scale Set-Up Keysheet one time. Display will show: B12-13 SENS DIST.

16. Press the End key. Display will show: B12 LABEL SPEC
17. Press the down arrow key one time. Display will show: B13 LABEL FORMAT

19. Press the down arrow key on the Scale Set-Up Keysheet two times. Display will show: B13-01-02 WIDTH

20. Key in 560 (do NOT enter decimal point) and press Enter key.
21. Press the Enter key again. Display will show: B13-01-03 HEIGHT “440”

Cassette Set up for Safe Handling (E12) Labels
Use Cassette’s to select different label sizes. After a Cassette preset function key has been assigned, follow the
steps below to program the label spec and label format for each cassette.
Before the Safe Handling (E12) labels can be used, the scale needs to be set up for the new label size.
1. Load the labels. Refer to Loading/Unloading Labels.
2. Make sure nothing is on the weigh platter.
3. Select the desired Cassette preset function key.
NOTE: Scale will beep two times to indicate Cassette preset function key has been selected.
4. Key in 6000 and press the Mode key. Display will show: B00 SETUP
5. Enter 951753 and press the PLU key.
6. Key in 11 and press the Enter key. Display will show: B11 CASSETTE
7. Press the Enter key. Display will show: B11-01 CAST No. “01”
NOTE: Up to seven cassettes can be programed. Each cassette contains the label spec and label
format for a label.
8. Press the down arrow key on the Scale Set-Up Keysheet three times. Display will show: B11-04 FMT No.
“001”
9. Key in format number “002” and press the Enter key. Display will show: B11-04 FMT No. 002
10. Press the End key. Display will show: B11 CASSETTE

NOTE: Ingredient (E13) Labels can not be completed without the use of the ScaleLink Pro 5 Lite
Maintenance Utility Software. Refer to the Scalelink Pro 5 lite Software User Guide for
instructions on how to setup a ingredient label.

Operating Instructions (PLU’s)
Manual Label Print
1. Make sure the scale is plugged in, the weigh platter is on top of the scale, the scale is turned on.
2. Enter a PLU number and press the PLU key or press one of the PLU preset keys. The PLU information will be
displayed.
NOTE: To access the lower level of preset keys, press the Lower Level preset function key and then
the preset key. Refer to Preset Key Set Up.
3. If a tare weight was not programmed for the PLU and it is needed, do one of the following steps:
a. Place the empty container on the weigh platter and press the tare key or...
b. Enter the tare amount and press the tare key.
4. Place the product on the weigh platter and press the Print key for a label to print.
NOTE:IfthePLUisforaxedpriceditem,pressthePrintkeyforthelabel.Productdoesnothaveto
be placed on the platter.
NOTE: The scale will go back to 0.00.
Automatic Label Print (Weighed Items)

Using Function Keys

PLU - Used to select a PLU preset function key.
1. Press the PLU preset function key.
2. Place the item to be weighed on the scale.
3. Press the Print key to issue a label.
Auto Manu - Used to print labels automatically.
NOTE:MakesuretochangetheAutoManupresetkeytoMANUALbeforeselectingaxedprice,
multiple, special price, -$ price discount or -% percent discount preset function key. Labels
will not print with the updated price if the scale is set to AUTO.
1. Key in the PLU and press the PLU key
2. Press the Auto Manu preset key. The auto indicator on the display will be lit.
3. Press the Auto Manu preset key. The auto indicator on the display will go off.
4. Press the Mode key to return to normal operation.
Unit Price - Used to print labels without the use of a PLU.
1. Place product on the scale.
2. Enter the unit price and press the Unit Price preset key.
3. Press the Print key two times.
Lower Level Preset Keys - Used to select lower level preset keys.
1. Press the Lower Level preset function key to select a PLU preset key or preset function key.
2. Press the PLU preset key or preset function key.
NOTE: The scale will return to the upper level preset keys after the product has been weighed and
label has printed.
Cassette Preset Keys - Used to select label formats within a specied cassette.
1. Press the Cassette preset function key.
NOTE: Scale will beep two times to indicate Cassette preset key has been selected.
Tare - Used to nd the weight of an empty container.
1. Key in the PLU and press the PLU key or press one of the PLU preset keys.
2. Press the Tare preset key.
3. Press the Print key to issue a label.
