Cavitationdependsonthevaporpressureofthe
pumpedliquid,thesystemsuctionpressure,andthe
velocitypressure.Itcanbereducedbychangingany
ofthesefactors.
1.Reducevaporpressure:Decreasethe
temperatureofthepumpedliquid.
2.Increasesuctionpressure:

life.Approximately3–5psi(0.02–0.03MPa,

tieboltscomeinfromoppositesidestohelpkeep
everythingtogetherbeforeclamping.

8.Placea󰘱atwasher(26),twobellevillewashers
(27),withthewasherclosesttothenuthaving
theroundedsidetowardthenutandtheother
washerwiththeroundedsideawayfromthenut,
andanut(28)oneachtiebolt.Tightenthebolts
hand-tight.Donottightentotorquespeci󰘰cation
yet.
9.Assemblethebottomchecks.Inserttheinletball
