1. Press " λ " to switch to wavelength option function and you can choose the
needed wavelength by operating turn knob . There are 6 kinds of wavelength to
choose : 850 / 1300 / 1310 / 1490 / 1550 / 1625 nm
2.Press " Unit " to switch to unit option function and choose the needed unit by
operating the turn knob . There are 3 kinds of units to choose : dBm / dB / W
.When you choose dB , the equipment display the reference value of testing
value and REF .

3.Press " MOD " to switch to mode option function and choose the mode . There
are 3 kinds of modes to choose : power meter , Measure mode , stability mode .
4. Press " SET " to open the setting function .
During the Power meter or Measure mode , you can choose " Refer Edit " , "
Calibration " , " Blank " , " Reset " , " Setting Zero " and " Version Number " .
During the " Stability mode " , you can choose " Start " , " Stop " , " Calibration " , "
Resolution " , " Total Time " .
When you choose the above setting parameters , press insert key to setting
interface . You can change the value by operating the turning Knob and press "
Shift " to cycle the functions . Press " Insertion key " to store the settings .
5.You can press " Cancel " key to back to previous menu until getting into the
testing interface.
6. During the testing function , you can choose the wavelength by " Shift " key .

1. Refer Edit
The function of " Refer Edit " is to rectify the current reference value and the range is -80dB to 10dB .
During the power loss measure mode , press " Ok " key to set the current power value as the reference
value .
2. Calibration
The function of " Calibration " is to change the calibration value and the range is -10dB to 10dB . Every
wavelength is according with one calibration value , so the calibration value changes with the wavelength .
3. Blank
The function of " Blank " key is to choose decimal from 0 to 3 .
4. Setting Zero
When the temperature changes sharply , you should press " Setting Zero " key . Before setting zero , you
should screw the dusty proof cap firstly , then choose " Setting Zero " .
After 5 seconds , press " Yes " key to fulfil the function.
Note : Forbidden " Setting Zero " key without tighten the dust proof cap.
5. Reset
" Reset " key is used for quick parameters setting , including 1310 wavelength option , dBm unit option , 2
decimal resolution , power meter , loss testing mode .

Testing data illustration
1. During the " Measure mode " , it displays current power value , wavelength , FEF
, Modulating frequency .
2. During the " Stability Mode " , it displays the rest time , steady parameter MAX ,
MIN , AVG , DIF .
You can choose time setting " Total time " and the maximum time is 24 hours ,the
minimum is 5 seconds . Note : After staring of testing , you can not set parameter.
Stability testing parameters : Time : rest time, unit (s)
MAX : the current maximum value
MIN : the current minimum value

Interfaces illustration
1. The probe interface is FU / UPC .
2. Analog output interface can directly connect to oscillograph probe .Forbidden connecting low-resistance
load or high-voltage line .
3. The power is 100 ~ 240 V and the safety fuse is 1A .
4. There are USB and 232 interfaces. It identifys the USB interface firstly .
5. Data software is as the Fig . 11 .

Maintenance
Please disconnect the AC adapter/charger and cover the protective dust cap once you finish using.
It is a good idea to clean the connector and the instrument when they get dirty through use. Optical cleaning
pads and anhydrous alcohol is recommended. And please be careful not to get the detergent inside the
instrument.
To ensure the measurement accuracy, please send the instrument to Grandway Service
Center for calibration once a year.
