Engine exhaust fumes can cause sickness or death. If it is necessary
to run an engine in an enclosed area, use an exhaust pipe extension
to remove the fumes. Always try to work in a well ventilated area.

Handle fuel with care, it is highly flamma le: Do not refuel machine
while smoking, when machine is near an open flame or sparks, or
when the engine is running. Stop the engine.

Dear customer,
thank you for choosing our wheeled trimmer. We are sure that your new machine's performance will
fully meet your requirements. To ensure optimum service and maintenance over time, read this
manual carefully and follow the instructions. This will give you the best result and will protect your
investment. lease keep this manual, which must always accompany the machine.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION AND INTENDED USE
The wheeled trimmer has been designed to cut grass, small bushes, to carry out finishing works
alongside sideways, plants and walls.
CAUTION! Read this manua carefu y before starting the engine.
The fo owing warnings are very important for the operator's safety.
WARNINGS
Caution is the main safeguard in preventing accidents!
We urge you to read the warnings that follow when using the rotavator, before starting any work at all.
Improper use of the rotavator and its equipment can be dangerous; to reduce the risks to the
minimum, observe the necessary precautions set out below:
1) Read the whole of this manual before starting the machine or putting it in motion.
2) ay special attention to the safety warnings and labels.
3) Rotation of the trimmer strings is extremely dangerous; never put hands or feet under the
trimmer!
4) Before other people are allowed to use the machine they must first be informed about the safety
regulations and how to use the machine.
5) Before starting the engine, make sure that there is no-one nearby, particularly children (minimum
safety distance 15 metres).
6) Never use the machine when tired and do not drink alcohol.
7) Check the ground before cutting and remove sticks or foreign bodies which might damage the
machine or be flung dangerously to some distance during operation.
8) Before starting work, put on suitab e working c othes, g oves, heavy footwear and gogg es.
9) ay attention to cars and people when working near to streets.
10) Never allow the machine to be used by anyone under 16 years of age.
11) Never keep the engine running indoors; you may inhale poisonous gases.
12) Always switch off the engine before filling up with fuel, keep away from sparks or flames and do
not smoke!
13) Avoid fuel spills and after filling the tank clean all spills before starting the engine.
14) Work only in sunlight or with good artificial light.
IMPROPER USES TO BE AVOIDED
15) Any improper uses causes the machine to become null and void and the constructor will decline
all liability.
16) Do not work on steep slopes.

FURTHER SAFETY ADVICES
17) Never tamper with or deactivate the safety devices.
18) Never make any adjustments or do any c eaning with the engine running.
19) The user is always responsible for injury or damage to third parties.
20) Always use original Grillo spare parts.
21) Before starting any work with the machine, check that all the accident prevention systems with
which it is equipped are in perfect working order. They must never be disabled or tampered with.
22) All protective fittings (hoods, mudguards, etc.) must be kept in place during operation.
23) Never use the machine barefoot.
24) Never change the engine settings, especially the max. rpm.
25) Allow the engine to cool before placing the machine indoors.
26) CAUTION: to reduce the risk of fire, keep the engine, the exhaust pipe and the exhaust manifolds
free from grass, leaves, dust, etc…
27) If you have to empty the fuel tank, do this outdoors.
IDENTIFICATION AND SERVICING
IDENTIFICATION
The vehicle’s serial number is to be found on the
machine's frame. Always state the serial number
when ordering spare parts.
AFTER-SALES SERVICE
This handbook provides instructions for use of the wheeled-trimmer and for correct basic servicing
which the user can carry out himself.
For all procedures not described in this handbook, contact your local dealer.
SPARE PARTS
Always use original spare parts, as they are the only ones to offer complete safety and
interchangeability. Always state the serial number when ordering.
For engine parts, refer to the specific handbook.
GUARANTEE
The guarantee is given in compliance with the current law. The dealer will have to give the client a
copy of the registration card of the machine, which they will print up from the Grillo website.
For the engine the guarantee of the relative manufacturers apply.
ORDERING SPARE PARTS
Always state the machine serial number and the code number of the part to be replaced. Contact your

PUTTING THE MACHINE INTO SERVICE
- Check that the machine has not been damaged in transit.
- Fit the front grass protection.
- Fit the handlebar and adjust its inclination
- Fill in the engine oil (see engine manual)
- Fill up the petrol tank. Use a funnel with a very fine filter.
Before starting the engine always check:
- the oil level inside the engine. The level cap is on the top casing (fig. 3) and the oil level must be
between the two rims.
- that all nuts and bolts are firmly tightened.
- that all levers are in neutral position.
- that the air filter is clean.
- fill the tank with fuel using a funnel with a very fine filter. Once the engine has started, accelerate
gradually. Allow the engine to warm up for a few minutes before starting work.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
STARTING THE ENGINE
ull the pull-start handle slowly until resistance is felt, then give a sharp pull (always follow the
instructions in the engine manual (fig. 1, no. 3).
STARTING WORK
Bring the engine to the maximum r.p.m. Make sure there is nobody in the area to be cut, engage the
string rotation lever and start working (fig. 1, n. 2). This model does not have a wheel-drive system
and is push-type.
FINISHING WORK
To stop the engine move the throttle lever (fig. 1, n. 1) to the stop limit position (fig. 2).
CHANGING THE STRINGS
Caution! Never replace the strings with the engine running. If the cutting string is worn, it must be
replaced. Always use original strings with square section 3×3, length 430 mm. If the engine is under
strain, slightly shorten the strings. To replace the strings proceed as follows:
- tie the string in the centre (fig. 5).
- insert the two strings from the inside towards the outside (fig. 6). CAUTION: do not fit the strings at
different heights as the engine will be under strain and cutting quality will be poor.
ADJUSTING THE CUTTING HEIGHT
To adjust the cutting height, insert the strings in the holes at various heights (fig. 7, pos. A-B).
TROUBLESHOOTING
The following is a list of small problems which may occur during the use of the TRIMMER brush-
cutter, which the operator himself can remedy:
1) If the engine does not start carry out the fo owing checks
- the fuel tank must be at least half full.
- the fuel must reach the carburettor
- the vent hole on the tank cap must not be blocked.
- the carburettor nozzles must be clean. To check them, unscrew and clean them if dirty.
- the plug must provide a spark. To check if it works, remove the plug reconnect it to the power
supply cable, rest the metal part on an electrical ground and turn the engine pulley as if to start it. If
no spark is seen between the two electrodes, try checking the plug cable connections and if power
is still not received, replace the plug. If the new plug still fails to work, the problem is in the
electrical system and you should contact your nearest service centre or authorized dealer.
2) When the ever is engaged the string cutter p ate does not turn:
- adjust the string register (fig. 1, n. 4).
- make sure that the belt has not come out of its seat on the pulley.
- check that the engaging cable has not slipped out of the clamp on the tightener lever.

3) The machine does not cut we :
- make sure that the cutting diameter is at least 250 mm; if it is less than this, replace the strings
with new ones.
- the belt may be slipping: in this case, the clutch wire register can be adjusted.
LONG-TERM STORAGE
If the machine is to be out of use for more than 30 days (models with petrol engine), drain the fuel
from the engine to prevent sticky deposits from forming in the fuel intake system or in vital parts of
carburettor. To avoid this procedure, it is possible to save fuel in storage up to 12 months by using
an appropriate fuel stabilizer. Add the such additive to the fuel in the tank or in the fuel container.
Run the engine for a while to let the stabilizer get into the fuel system. Caution: if the engine is fed
with petrol containing alcohol, drain the fuel tank and run the engine until there is no fuel left.
MAINTENANCE AND LUBRICATION
CAUTION!
- Disconnect the p ug before performing any c eaning, maintenance or repair operation.

- When the machine or part of it is ifted to carry out maintenance operations, a ways
remember to use suitab e fixing too s such as ho ders and safety ocks.
- When carrying out maintenance operations and/or when the machine is ti ted without safety
ocks or supports, never eave it unguarded in p aces where inexperienced peop e and
chi dren cou d have easy access to it.
- Protect the environment: carefu y dispose of used oi s, petro and any other po utant
product!
- Effective maintenance and correct ubrication he p to keep the machine fu y efficient.
LUBRICATION
These operations must be carried out with the machine in horizontal position. NOTE: Always replace
the oil when the machine is warm to allow oil to drain completely.
ENGINE OIL
Always follow the instructions provided in the engine manual. It is generally recommended to check
the oil level every four working hours and to replace it every 50 working hours. Always use oil SAE 30.
Check the air filter after each use and clean the air filter element of grass residues (fig. 4). Replace the
air filter element if stained with oil and never wash it. Frequently check that the fins of both the
cylinder and cylinder head are not clogged. To do so remove the guards (always follow the
instructions in the engine manual).
HELPFUL HINTS FOR PROPER USE
1) Never leave the out in the rain.
2) Never strain the engine: if smoke comes out of the exhaust, the engine is toiling and must be
slowed down.
3) Frequently clean the air intake filter (fig. 4).
4) Remove any grass deposits form the engine cooling grid.
5) A ways use square-section strings or strings with sharp edges.
6) If the engine strains, use shorter strings.

GRASS-GUARD BAFFLE
This baffle is recommended when cutting along streets and avenues to avoid the grass to be thrown
away (fig. 8). The side baffle can be adjusted to direct the mowed grass. Remove this baffle when the
grass to be cut is very high, by using the knob (fig. 8, ref. A).

DESCRIZIONE GENERALE E USO PREVISTO
Il decespugliatore a filo TRIMMER è indicato per il taglio dell'erba e di piccoli arbusti, per lavori di
rifinitura lungo marciapiedi, vicino a piante e muretti.
ATTENZIONE! Leggere attentamente prima di avviare il motore.
Le seguenti avverten e sono importanti per l'incolumità dell'operatore!
AVVERTENZE
La prudenza è l'arma principale nella prevenzione degli incidenti!
La preghiamo vivamente di leggere con attenzione le seguenti avvertenze, prima ancora di iniziare il
lavoro. L'uso improprio del decespugliatore può risultare pericoloso. er questa ragione osservare le
precauzioni necessarie di seguito riportate:
1) Leggere questo manuale interamente, prima di accendere e mettere in movimento il
decespugliatore.
2) Dare particolare attenzione alle ammonizioni e alle etichette di sicurezza attorno alla macchina.
3) La rotazione dei fili del decespugliatore è altamente pericolosa, non mettere mai le mani o i piedi
sotto al decespugliatore.
4) rima di fare lavorare con il decespugliatore altre persone bisogna metterle al corrente delle norme
di sicurezza e di come si usa la macchina.
5) rima di accendere il decespugliatore verificare che non ci siano persone intorno; specialmente
bambini (distanza di sicurezza 15 metri).
6) Non usare il decespugliatore quando si è affaticati e non bere alcoolici.
7) Controllare il terreno prima di procedere al taglio dell'erba, che non vi siano sassi, bastoni o corpi
estranei, che potrebbero danneggiare la macchina o essere scagliati lontano, e risultare quindi molto
pericolosi.
8) Prima di ini iare il lavoro, indossare indumenti appropriati da lavoro, guanti, scarponi,
occhiali.
9) Se lavorate vicino alla strada o ai bordi di essa, fate attenzione alle persone e alle auto di
passaggio.
10) Non fare lavorare ragazzi troppo giovani. E' vietato l'uso ai minori di 16 anni.
11) er evitare il pericolo di esalazioni velenose, non adoperare il motore acceso in un locale chiuso.
12) Spegnere sempre il motore prima di fare rifornimento di combustibile, stare lontano da scintille o
fiamme, non fumare!
13) Evitare fuoriuscite di combustibile e dopo aver riempito il serbatoio pulire ogni fuoriuscita prima di
avviare il motore.
14) Lavorare solo con la luce del sole o con buona luce artificiale.

15) Ogni utilizzo improprio comporta il decadimento della garanzia ed il declino di ogni responsabilità

di cui essa è dotata siano perfettamente funzionanti. È severamente vietato escluderli o manometterli.
22) L'attrezzatura protettiva (cofani, parafanghi, ecc.), va assolutamente mantenuta durante il taglio.
23) Non utilizzare la macchina a piedi nudi.
24) Non cambiare le regolazioni del motore, in modo particolare il numero di giri massimo.
25) Far raffreddare il motore prima di mettere la macchina in locali chiusi.
26) ATTENZIONE: per ridurre il pericolo di incendio mantenere il motore, la marmitta e i collettori di
scarico liberi da erba, foglie, polvere ecc..
27) Se dovete svuotare il serbatoio carburante eseguite l’operazione all’aperto.

MESSA IN OPERA DELLA MACCHINA
- Controllare l'integrità della macchina e che non abbia subito danni durante il trasporto.
- Montare il paraerba anteriore.
- Montare il piantone e regolare l'inclinazione del manubrio di guida.
- Inserire l'olio motore (si veda il libretto motore).
- Riempire il serbatoio di carburante. Utilizzare a tal fine un imbuto con un filtro molto fine.
rima di avviare il motore controllare sempre:
- il livello dell'olio nel motore. Il tappo del livello è posto sul coperchio superiore (fig. 3): l'olio deve
arrivare tra i due bordini.
- che tutte le viti e i dadi siano ben serrati.
- che tutte le leve siano in posizione di folle
- che il filtro dell'aria sia ben pulito.
- riempire il serbatoio di carburante servendosi di un imbuto munito di filtro molto fine. Una volta
avviato il motore e accelerare progressivamente. Lasciare scaldare il motore per qualche minuto
prima di iniziare il lavoro.

ISTRUZIONI D'USO
AVVIAMENTO DEL MOTORE
Tirare la manopola dell'avviamento auto-avvolgente lentamente fino a che si avverte la resistenza (fig.
1. rif. 3) quindi dare uno strappo energico (attenersi sempre alle norme contenute nel libretto motore).
INIZIO DEL LAVORO
ortare il motore a regime massimo. Assicurarsi che non vi siano persone nei pressi della zona di
taglio, innestare la leva di rotazione dei fili e iniziare il lavoro (fig. 1, n. 2). Il presente modello è senza
trazione sulle ruote e funziona a spinta.
FINE LAVORO
Terminato il lavoro per arrestare il motore, portare il manettino acceleratore (fig.1, n.1) a fine corsa
nella posizione stop (fig. 2).
SOSTITUZIONE FILO
Atten ione! Non sostituire il filo con il motore in moto. Se il filo risulta usurato occorre sostituirlo.
Utilizzare fili originali a sezione quadrata 3x3, lunghezza 430 mm. Se il motore va sotto sforzo
accorciare leggermente i fili. er la sostituzione procedere come segue:
- annodare il filo centralmente (fig. 5).
- inserire i due fili dall'interno verso l'esterno (fig. 6). ATTENZIONE: non inserire i fili ad altezze
diverse, il motore va sotto sforzo e la qualità del taglio risulta scadente.
REGOLAZIONE ALTEZZA DI TAGLIO
er regolare l'altezza di taglio inserire i fili nei fori alle varie altezze (fig. 7, pos. A-B).
POSSIBILI INCONVENIENTI ED I LORO RIMEDI
Di seguito un elenco di piccoli inconvenienti che possono avvenire nell'uso del decespugliatore
TRIMMER cui il cliente può porre direttamente rimedio:
1) Se il motore non parte, eseguire nell'ordine i seguenti controlli:
- che il serbatoio del carburante sia pieno almeno per metà.
- che il carburante arrivi al carburatore
- che il foro di sfiato sul tappo del serbatoio non sia otturato
- che i getti del carburatore siano puliti. er controllarli, svitarli e se sporchi, pulirli.
- che la candela dia la scintilla. er effettuare questo controllo, smontare la candela, ricollegarla al
cavo che le porta la corrente, appoggiare la parte metallica a massa e far girare la puleggia del
motore come per avviarlo. Se non si vede scoccare la scintilla tra i due elettrodi, provare a
controllare i collegamenti del cavo della candela e se la corrente non arriva ancora, sostituire la
candela. Se anche quest'ultima sostituzione non desse effetto, il guasto è da ricercarsi
nell'impianto elettrico ed è conveniente rivolgersi al centro di assistenza più vicino o ad un'officina
specializzata.
2) Innestata la leva, la piastra portafilo non ruota
- regolare il registro del filo (fig. 1, n. 4).
- assicurarsi che la cinghia non sia uscita dalla sede delle pulegge
- controllare che il cavo d'innesto non si sia sfilato dal morsetto sulla leva galoppino - tenditore.

3) La macchina non taglia bene
- assicurarsi che il diametro di taglio non sia inferiore a 250 mm. Se risulta inferiore sostituire i fili
con fili nuovi.
- possibilità che la cinghia slitti: in questo caso si può intervenire nel registro del filo di innesto.
RIMESSAGGIO E INATTIVITA' PROLUNGATA
Se la macchina non viene utilizzata per più di 30 giorni (motori a benzina) occorre svuotare del
carburante il motore onde prevenire la formazione di depositi gommosi nel sistema di
alimentazione o in parti vitali del carburatore. Nel caso si volesse evitare questa operazione, è
possibile prolungare la conservazione del carburante in rimessaggio fino a 12 mesi aggiungendo
uno stabilizzante per benzina adatto allo scopo. Miscelare l'additivo al carburante nel serbatoio o
nel recipiente del carburante. Accendere il motore per far circolare l'additivo nel sistema di
alimentazione. Nota: se il motore utilizza benzina contenente alcol, svuotare il serbatoio facendo
funzionare il motore fino ad esaurire il carburante.
MANUTENZIONE E LUBRIFICAZIONE
ATTENZIONE!
- Scollegare la candela prima di ini iare qualsiasi intervento di puli ia, manuten ione o
ripara ione. Indossare indumenti adeguati e guanti da lavoro.
- Qualora si sollevi la macchina o parte di essa, usare sempre strumenti idonei quali
supporti fermi di sicure a.
- Non lasciare la macchina in manuten ione, priva di sicure e o sollevata, in luoghi
accessibili a persone inesperte, specialmente bambini.
- Non disperdere mai nell’ambiente olii esausti, ben ina, gasolio ogni altro prodotto
inquinante!
- Un’efficiente manuten ione e una corretta lubrifica ione contribuiscono a mantenere la
macchina in perfetta efficien a.
LUBRIFICAZIONE
Eseguire le seguenti operazioni tenendo la macchina in posizione orizzontale. NOTE: La sostituzione
dell'olio va effettuata a macchina calda per favorire la fuoriuscita totale dell'olio.
OLIO MOTORE
Attenersi scrupolosamente alle norme contenute nel libretto motore. È comunque opportuno
controllare il livello dell'olio ogni 4 ore di lavoro e sostituirlo ogni 50 ore. Utilizzare sempre olio SAE 30.
Controllare la cartuccia del filtro aria dopo ogni utilizzo (fig. 4). ulire la cartuccia da eventuali residui
di erba e sostituirla se macchiata con olio. Attenzione: non lavare mai il filtro dell'aria.
Controllare periodicamente che le alette della testata e del cilindro non siano intasate, smontando gli
appositi carter (attenersi sempre alle istruzioni contenute nel libretto del motore).

REGOLE UTILI PER IL BUON USO
1. Non lasciare mai la macchina sotto la pioggia.
2. Non forzare mai il motore: quando esce fumo dallo scarico è sotto sforzo e occorre rallentare.
3. ulire frequentemente il filtro d'aspirazione dell'aria (fig. 4).
4. Togliere eventuali residui di erba dalla griglia di ventila ione del motore.
5. E' preferibile usare fili di taglio di sezione quadra o comunque spigolosa, lo sforzo di taglio
risulterà minore.
6. Se il motore va sotto sforzo utilizzare fili più corti.

PROTEZIONE PARAERBA
Questa protezione (fig. 8) è consigliata per lo sfalcio nei bordi di strade e vialetti per evitare che l'erba
venga lanciata lontano. La paratia è regolabile per direzionare il getto dell'erba tagliata. In presenza di
erba molto alta è consigliabile rimuovere la paratia agendo sul pomello (fig. 8, rif. A).

ATTENTION! Lire attentivement les instructions avant de mettre le moteur en

MISES EN GARDE
La prudence est la meilleure arme pour la prévention des accidents!
Nous vous demandons de lire attentivement les normes suivantes avant même de commencer le
travail. L’utilisation inadéquate du motoculteur et de son équipement peut être dangereuse. our
réduire ces éventualités de danger, veuillez respecter les précautions nécessaires décrites ci après:
1) Lire entièrement ce manuel avant d’allumer et de mettre en mouvement la machine.
2) Suivre avec une attention particulière les mises en garde et les étiquettes de sécurité placées
autour de la machine.
3) La rotation des fils de la débroussailleuse est extrêmement dangereuse, ne jamais mettre les
mains u les pieds s us la fraise.
4) Avant de confier votre débroussailleuse à d’autres personnes, il faut leur illustrer aussi bien les
normes de sécurité que le mode d’emploi.
5) Avant d’allumer la débroussailleuse, vérifier qu’il n’y a personne aux alentours et, en particulier,
qu’il n’y a pas d’enfants (distance de sécurité 15 mètres).
6) Ne pas utiliser la débroussailleuse en cas de fatigue et ne pas boire d’alcools.
7) Contrôler le terrain avant d’effectuer le fraisage, vérifier qu’il n’y a pas de pierres, de bâtons ou de
corps étrangers qui pourraient endommager la machine ou être lancés au loin et donc être très
dangereux.
8) Avant de c mmencer le travail, revêtir des vêtements de travail appr priés, des gants, des
b ttes et des lunettes.
9) Si on travaille près de rues faire toujours attention aux personnes et aux voitures.
10) Ne pas faire travailler des personnes trop jeunes; l’utilisation de la machine est interdite aux
mineurs de moins de 16 ans.
11) our éviter le danger d’exhalaisons toxiques, ne pas faire tourner le moteur dans un local fermé.
12) Éteindre toujours le moteur avant de faire le plein de combustible; s’éloigner des étincelles ou des
flammes et ne pas fumer!
13) Éviter les fuites de combustible; après avoir rempli le réservoir, nettoyer soigneusement les fuites
avant d’activer le moteur.
14) Utiliser la débroussailleuse uniquement en plein jour ou avec un bon éclairage artificiel.

25) Laisser refroidir le moteur avant d’entreposer la machine dans des locaux fermés.
26) ATTENTION: pour réduire tout danger d’incendie, éliminer les herbes, les feuilles et la poussière
qui pourraient obstruer le moteur, le pot et les collecteurs d’échappement.
27) Effectuer l’éventuelle vidange du réservoir du carburant en plein air.

MISE EN SERVICE DE LA MACHINE
- Contrôler que la machine soit en bon état et qu'elle n'a pas été endommagée pendant le transport.
- Monter la protection herbe à l'avant de la machine.
- Monter le guidon et en régler l'inclinaison.
- Ajouter l'huile moteur (voir toujours le manuel d'entretien du moteur).
- Remplir le réservoir du carburant. Utiliser un entonnoir muni d'un filtre très fin
Avant de démarrer le moteur contrôler toujours:
- le niveau d'huile dans le moteur. Le bouchon du niveau est placé sur le couvercle supérieur (fig. 3)
et l'huile doit arriver entre les deux bords.
- que toutes les vis et les écrous soient bien serrés.
- que tous les leviers soient au point mort.
- que le filtre à air soit bien propre.
Remplir le réservoir du carburant avec un entonnoir muni d'un filtre très fin. Après le démarrage du
moteur accélérer progressivement. Laisser chauffer le moteur pendant quelques minutes avant de
commencer le travail.
