You may already be familiar with using a similar unit, but please
take time to read these instructions. They are designed to
familiarize you with the unit’s many features and to ensure you
get the very best from your purchase.

IMPORTANT NOTES
Your hearing is very important to you and to us so please take care
when operating this equipment. It is strongly
recommended that you
follow the listed guidelines in order to prevent possible damage or
loss of hearing:
ESTABLISH A SAFE SOUND LEVEL
• Over time your hearing will adapt to continuous loud sounds and will
give the impression that the volume has in fact been reduced. What
seems normal to you may in fact be harmful. To guard against this
BEFORE YOUR HEARING ADAPTS set the volume at a low level.
• Slowly increase the level until you can hear comfortably and
clearly and without distortion.
• Damage to your hearing is accumulative and is irreversible.
• Any ringing or discomfort in the ears indicates that the volume is
too loud.
Once you have established a comfortable listening level, DO
NOT INCREASE THE SOUND LEVEL FURTHER.

SOME DO'S AND DONT'S ON THE SAFE USE OF EQUIPMENT
WARNING:
This equipment has been designed and manufactured to meet safety
standards but like any electrical equipment, care must be taken if you
are to obtain the best results and safety is to be assured.
•
Do read the operating instructions before you attempt to use
the equipment.
•
Do ensure that all electrical connections (Including the mains plug,
extension leads and interconnections between pieces
of
equipment) are properly made in accordance with the
manufacturer's instructions. Switch off and withdraw the mains
plug when making or changing connections.
•
Contact the Grundig helpline if you are ever in doubt of the
installation, operating, or safety of your equipment.
•
Don't continue to operate the equipment if you are in any doubt
about it working normally, or if it is damaged in any way - switch
off, withdraw the mains plug and call the helpline.
•
Don't remove any fixed covers as this may expose dangerous
voltages.
•
Don't leave equipment switched on when it is unattended unless it
is specifically stated that it is designed for unattended
operation or
has a standby mode. Special arrangements may need
to be made
for infirm or handicapped people.
•
Don't listen to your headphones at high volume, as such use can
permanently damage your hearing.
•
Don't obstruct the ventilation of the equipment, for example with
curtains or soft furnishings.
•
Overheating will cause damage and shorten the life of the equipment.
Don't allow electrical equipment to
be exposed to rain or moisture.

Never let anyone, especially children, push anything into holes,
slots or any other opening as this could result in a fatal
electric
shock.

Never guess or take chances with electrical
equipment of any kind. It is better to be safe than sorry!

Main operation
• Insert the mains adaptor into the DC IN socket on the back of the
radio.
• Insert the mains adaptor into wall socket.
Caution: Only connect the mains adaptor to a properly installed wall
socket with a voltage matching the “Technical data” of the mains
adaptor.
Back up batteries for clock
Two batteries, type AA/1.5V, are required to provide backup power for
the clock. This will only power the internal clock and you will see no
display.
1. Unclip the battery compartment lid on the bottom of the clock radio.
2. Insert 2 batteries as shown in the battery compartment.
Observe the correct polarity (+/-).
3. Close the battery door.

Setting the Time
1.
Press the SET button once, the clock icon a nd the current time is
displayed on the LCD, the hour digit will flash, press
PRE -/+ to
adjust the hour.
2.
Press PLAY/PAUSE/BAND button to confirm the hour setting and
the minutes digits flash, press
PRE -/+ to adjust the minutes. The
minute digits cannot change the hour digits and will return to 00
after they reach 59.
3.
Press PLAY/PAUSE/BAND to confirm the minute setting. The
display will then return to standby mode.
Note :
After each step, when you release the buttons for 5 seconds, the unit will save the
settings automatically and return to the normal display (time).
Setting the Sleep function
1. When the radio is turned on, press the SLEEP button, 90 min
and SLEEP are displayed on the LCD.
2. Repeatedly press the SLEEP button to adjust the sleep timer
according to the following display order:
90 min →60 min →45 min →30 min→15 min →off →90 min …
3. Once set the radio will turn off automatically after the
selected period of time has passed.
Note :
You can press the SLEEP button to view the sleep time when the sleep timer is set. The
sleep timer display will automatically return to normal if this
key is released for 3 seconds.
Alarm Function
Setting Alarm 1
1.
Press the SET button twice, the ‘A larm 1’ icon and the Alarm 1 time
is displayed on the LCD, the hour digit flashes, press PRE -/+ to
adjust the hour.
2.
Press the PLAY/PAUSE/BAND button to confirm the hour setting
and the minute digits flashes, press
PRE -/+ to adjust the minute.
The minute digits cannot change the hour digits and will return to 00
after they reach 59.
3.
Press PLAY/PAUSE/BAND to confirm the minute setting. The
display will return to standby mode.
4.
Press ALM1/ALM2 to select the alarm model: iPod, music,
buzzer or OFF. When setting the alarm mode, there must be

more than 5 seconds between ALM 1 mode and ALM2 mode.
5.
While the alarm time is flashing press VOL -/+ button to select
the desired volume level (00-40) while the alarm is
sounding.
Note :
When no adjustments are made to the alarm volume, the volume will revert to the
last set level. The default volume level is 20, the unit will reset to this level when
unplugged from the mains.
Setting Alarm 2
1.
Press the SET button three times, the ‘A larm 2’ icon and the Alarm 2
time
is displayed on the LCD, the hour digit flashes, press PRE -/+ to
adjust the hour.
2.
Follow steps 2 to 5 above.
Notes:
• When you select alarm via iPod, ensure the iPod is connected correctly in the
socket.
• In the event of a mains power interruption before the alarm is due to sound, when
the alarm time is reached the buzzer will sound. You will need to ensure the
alarm mode is set to buzzer, and the backup batteries (2xAA) are installed.
• When you do not plan to use the radio for a week or more, please remove the
backup batteries. Leaking batteries can damage the radio and such damage is
not covered by the warranty.
• Please replace the backup batteries after 1 year.
• Replace the batteries within 30 seconds.
Snooze Function
When the alarm is sounding by pressing the
SNOOZE button you can
delay the alarm by 9 minutes.
Stopping the Alarm
When the alarm is sounding by pressing the
ALARM OFF button will
stop the
alarm. The FUNCTION or POWER button will also stop the
alarm. After 24 hours, the alarm will sound again.
Mute Function (only for remote control)
It is used to mute the audio signal coming out from the speaker. Press this
key to mute or release the mute function. Note: the following case will
release mute function:
1. Change volume
2. Power on/off (by press POWER button)
3. Alarm arrived
4. Snooze time out
5. Change function (by press FUNCTION button)

Listening to the Radio
1. Press the POWER button to turn on the radio.
2. Press PLAY/PAUSE/BAND button to select the desired band FM or
AM.
3. Press the TUNE -/+ button to tune to the desired station. Hold
TUNE -/+ button to auto search for stations.
4. Press VOL -/+ button to select the desired volume level (00-40).
Notes:
• For FM reception, fully extend the wire “T” aerial and form a “T” shape until the
best results are achieved.
•
For AM reception, there is a ferrite rod aerial inside the unit, rotate or move the
unit’s position until the best results are achieved.
Saving the Station
1. You can store a total of 30 memory stations (20xFM, 10xAM).
2. Press POWER to turn on the radio.
3. Press FUNCTION button to select RADIO.
4. Press BAND button to select your desired band AM or FM.
5. Press SELECT button, MEM flashes then press MEM -/+ to
select the station number.
6. Press SELECT button again to confirm. This station is now
saved in the memory.
Selecting Programmed Station
1. Turn on the radio, press the FUNCTION button to select RADIO.
2. Press BAND button to select the desired band.
3. Press MEM -/+ button to select the desired station.
4. The display shows the band and the frequency.
Note :
When there are no memorized stations the LCD display will show ‘Empty Preset.’
AUX IN Operation
The unit can be connected to another sound source via the Aux In socket.
1. Press the POWER button to turn on the radio.
2. Repeatedly press FUNCTION button until the AUX is displayed on
the LCD.
3. Connect the plug to the AUX IN socket on the back of the radio.
4. Press VOL -/+ to adjust the desired volume level.
Note :
In AUX IN mode, only VOL -/+ and POWER buttons are available.

AUX OUT Operation
The sound from the unit can be connected to another audio device via
the AUX OUT socket in the back of the radio.
1. Press the POWER button to turn on the radio.
2. Select your desired audio source, FM/AM or iPod.
3. The output socket requires a mini stereo jack plug. You will need
to refer to the operating instructions for the device that you are
connecting to for the connectors on the other
end of the cable.
4. Press VOL -/+ buttons to adjust the desired sound level.
IPod Function
The unit can be connected to an iPod with the iPod socket.
1. Be sure the iPod is connected. Press the POWER button to turn on
the radio. Repeatedly press
FUNCTION button to select iPod, and
the iPod will turn on automatically.
2. Repeatedly press PLAY/PAUSE to play or pause the iPod.
3. Press VOL -/+ buttons to adjust the volume.
4. Press or hold SKIP -/+ buttons to select you desired tracks.
(Press once to move to the
next or previous song; hold down
button for fast forward or fast backward.)
5. Press STOP/STEREO button to stop the iPod.
Repeat Play (only for iPod)
Repeat feature allows you to repeat one track or repeat all tracks:
Repeatedly press REPEAT button on the remote to repeat the track
as below: Repeat one
→Repeat all →Cancel repeat →Repeat one.
Random Play (only for iPod)
Press RANDOM button on the remote to toggle between random play
mode and normal play mode.
Menu function (only for iPod)
Press i. MENU to enter the iPod menu, then press iPod +/- button
to select
your desired menu, then press SELECT button to confirm.
Dimmer Function
The backlight can be selected by pressing the LIGHT button, there
are 4 levels:
Low →Medium →High →Off →Low

Using Earphones or Headphones
To listen to the radio privately, connect an earphone or headphone (not
included)
with a 3.5mm plug to the jack on the back of the radio. Plugging in an
earphone or headphone disconnects the internal speaker.
Remarks :
In case of malfunction due to electrostatic discharge and/or electrical
fast transient (Burst), just reset the product
(reconnecting of the power
source may be required) to resume normal operation.

Please keep your receipt as proof of purchase. This product is warranted
for any defect in materials or workmanship for one year after the original
date of purchase. This product is for normal domestic and office use only.
This warranty does not cover damage from misuse or neglect , accidental
damage, vermin infestation, excessive voltages such us lightning or power
surges or any alternation that affects the performance or reliability of the
product.
In the unlikely event that your product fails to work normally, please contact

Zealand) and have your receipt of purchase on hand.
This guarantee is subject to the following provisions:
●It is only valid within boundaries of the country of purchase;
