HS 7230 SAFETY __________________
Please note the following instructions when using the
appliance:
█ Keep the instruction manual for future use. Should
a third party be given the appliance, please ensure
the instruction manual is included.
█ The appliance is designed for domestic use only.
█ Never use the appliance in the bath,
shower or over a wash basin filled with
water; nor should it be operated with
wet hands.
█ Do not immerse the appliance in water or let it
come into contact with water, even during cleaning.
█ Do not use the appliance near water in bathtubs,
wash basins or other vessels.
█ If the appliance is used in the bathroom, it is
essential that the power plug is pulled out after use,
as water close to the appliance can still constitute
a danger, even if the appliance is switched off.
█ If not already present, for additional protection
it is recommend to install a residual-current-
operated protective device (RCD) with a rated
residual operating current not exceeding 30 mA
in the electrical circuit of your bathroom. Ask your
plumber for advice.
█ The appliance can become very hot. Never put
your hair between the plates for longer than a few
seconds.
█ Do not allow the hot plates to come into contact
with your face, neck or head.
█ Never cover the appliance, for example with a
towel.
█ Never place the appliance on soft cushions or
blankets during operation.
█ Unplug the appliance after use. Do not disconnect
the plug by pulling on the cord. Place the appliance
on a heat resistant surface and allow it to cool
down.
█ Never use the appliance if it or the power cord is
visibly damaged.
█ If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced
by the manufacturer, a service centre or a similarly
qualified person to avoid any danger of electrical
shock.
█ Make sure that there is no danger that the power
cord could be accidentally pulled or that someone
could trip over it when the appliance is in use.
█ Never wrap the power cord around the appliance.
█ Never use the appliance in or near to combustible,
inflammable places and materials and furniture.
Do not let the appliance come into contact with
or become covered by inflammable materials e.g.
curtains, textiles, etc. Please make sure that the
appliance is always kept a safe distance away
from flammable materials and furniture.
█ Do not use paper, cardboard, plastic, inflammable,
unprotected polished surfaces under the appliance.
█ Never use the appliance outdoors.
█ Keep the appliance out of the reach of children.
█ This appliance can be used by children aged from
8 years and above and persons with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack
of experience and knowledge if they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning use of
the appliance in a safe way and understand the
hazards involved. Children shall not play with the
appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall
not be made by children without supervision.
█ Never open the appliance under any
circumstances. No warranty claims are accepted
for damage caused by incorrect handling.
█ Check if the mains voltage on the type plate (on
the handle of the appliance) corresponds to your
local mains supply. The only way to disconnect the
appliance from the mains is to unplug it.
█ Do not leave the appliance unattended when
switched on.
█ The outer surface around the plates can become

εφαρµόσιµα πρότυπα ασφαλείας και εποµένως, αν
υποστεί ζηµιά η συσκευή ή το καλώδιο ρεύµατος,
πρέπει να επισκευαστεί ή να αντικατασταθεί από
κέντρο σέρβις, ώστε να αποφευχθούν οποιοιδήποτε
κίνδυνοι. Οι λανθασµένες εργασίες επισκευών ή
αυτές από µη εξειδικευµένους τεχνικούς µπορεί να
προκαλέσουν κινδύνους για τον χρήστη.
█Όταν χρησιµοποιείτε τη συσκευή να βεβαιώνεστε ότι
δεν υπάρχει κίνδυνος ότι το καλώδιο θα µπορούσε
να τραβηχτεί κατά λάθος ή ότι κάποιος θα µπο-
ρούσε να µπερδευτεί και να παραπατήσει σ’ αυτό.
█Ποτέ µην τυλίξετε το καλώδιο ρεύµατος γύρω
από τη συσκευή, γιατί έτσι µπορεί να προκληθεί
ζηµιά. Ελέγχετε τακτικά το καλώδιο ρεύµατος και τη
συσκευή για ενδείξεις ζηµιάς.
█Ποτέ µη χρησιµοποιήσετε τη συσκευή µέσα ή κοντά
σε υλικά, χώρους και έπιπλα που είναι καύσιµα ή

The appliance has individual
temperature control Cfrom 140°C to
210°C. The appliance is ready to use
after about 60 seconds.
Depending on the hair structure,
we recommend the following settings:
7For fine, porous, coloured, bleached
hair: 140°C - 160°C.
7For normal hair: 170°C - 190°C.
7For strong, resistant, thick hair:
200°C - 210°C.

Preparation
1Place the appliance on a level,
heat-resistant surface.
2Plug the power cord Finto the
wall socket.
Caution
7 Never leave the appliance
unattended while it is plugged in.
3Press Dfor a second to switch on
the appliance.
– Display Blights up.
4Set the temperature level with the
Cbutton.
– The blue light lights up and starts
flashing until it reaches the set
temperature.
– When the appliance
has reached the desired
temperature, the blue light stops
flashing and a signal is audible,
meaning that it is ready to use.
– The blue light is also flashing
when set temperature will be
changed during operation until
new set temperature (higher or
lower) is reached.
Notes
7 The Temperature Lock Function will
be activated automatically after
turning on the appliance within
5 seconds without any changes.
OPERATION ___________________________
7 LCD color changes from blue to
red and a signal is audible.
7 To unlock the buttons, press »–«
Bfor 2 times within 2 seconds.
7 Make sure your hair is completely
dry.
7 Select the lowest temperature
setting when using for the first
time. You can find the level
which is suitable for your hair
by incrementing the temperature
level.
7 There are eight temperature levels
(140°C = min., 210°C = max.).
The appliance is ready to use in
approx. 60 seconds while it reaches
100°C within only 30 seconds.
7 The temperature level setting can
go up to a maximum temperature
of 210°C after approx. three
minutes. Hold the appliance in
your hand while it heats up.
7 If the appliance is not used for a
while after it is heated up, it switches
off automatically after 60 minutes.
7 Keep the strands of hair smooth
whilst you work, to avoid ridges
part way down the strand.
7 As with all straighteners that reach
high salon temperatures: use heat
protection spray to avoid damage
to hair.

Styling waves or curls
1 Comb or brush out a strand of your
hair about 3 cm wide, starting at
the neck.
2 Place the strand of hair between the
plates Aas near to the hair line as
you can and close them.
3 Rotate the appliance by 180° so
that the hair wraps around it at the
height of the plates A.
4 While rotating, slowly pull the
appliance towards the ends of the
hair.
– A curl is formed once the
appliance has been pulled down
and released from the ends of the
hair.
5 Repeat the procedure strand by
strand.
6 After using the appliance, press
Dfor a second to switch off and
then pull the Fpower cord
plug out.
– Mode indicator Bdisappears.
7 Unplug the power cord Ffrom the
wall socket.
Caution
7 Leave the appliance in a safe
place to cool down.
OPERATION ___________________________
Straightening hair
1 Comb or brush out a strand of your
hair about 3 cm wide, starting at
the neck.
2Place the strand of hair between the
Aplates, as close to the hair line as
you can.
Caution
7 Do not touch the styling plates as
they are very hot.
3Close the plates Aand then
immediatelly glide the straightener
down the section of hair, gently
moving from roots to tip. Avoid
making kinks in it.
Note
7 If you have thick hair, you might
have to repeat this process on the
same strand several times.
4 Repeat the procedure section by
section.
5 After using the appliance, press D
for a second to switch off.
– Display Bturns off.
6 Unplug the power cord Ffrom the
wall socket.

Storage
7If you do not plan to use the
appliance for a long period of time,
please store it carefully.
7Make sure that it is unplugged, has
completely cooled down and is
completely dry.
7Do not wrap the power cord
around the appliance.
7Keep the appliance in a cool, dry

out of the reach of children.

Cleaning and care
1 Turn the appliance off and unplug
the power cord Ffrom the wall
socket.
2 Before cleaning, allow the
appliance to cool down. The
appliance can become very hot and
may take up to 45 minutes to cool
down.
3 Clean the appliance only with a soft
damp cloth.
Caution
7 Never put the appliance or power
cord in water or any other liquid.
Do not use any cleaning agents.
7 Always allow the appliance to cool
down on a heat resistant, safe and
flat surface.
