P-9956-Modbus Configurable RS
Modbus Card
Features
Photoelectric isolation RS232, RS485 and
RS422 interfaces.
Supporting for MODBUS RTU
communication protocol.
Description
P-9956-Modbus is an optional card for
GST-IFP4M control panel, providing
photoelectric isolation interfaces of RS232,
RS485 and RS422.
This card shouldn’t be inserted and
removed when it is energized.
Refer to the control panel manual for
following settings.
1) Define the quantity of Modbus cards.
2) The panel address is set to slave rather
than main address.
LEDs
1) P-9956-Modbus has RS485, RS422
and RS232 ports. Illuminating HL1 and
HL2 mean that a port is fault.
2) Flashing HL1 and HL2 mean that
P-9956-Modbus Card works normally.
P-9956-Modbus can be used any port of
RS485, RS422 or RS232 through a jumper.
The loop shouldn’t exceed 1200m when
RS485 or RS422 is used. The loop
shouldn’t exceed 15m when RS232 is used.
A P-9956-Modbus can connect with third
party devices through RS485, RS422 or
RS232. A panel connects up to two
P-9956-Modbus cards. Refer to Fig. 2 for
installation position.
Connection & Wiring
Its connection is shown in Fig. 1 as
P-9956-Modbus is inserted in S2 slot.

P-9956-Modbus is inserted into mother board
slots of the control panel as shown in Fig. 2.
Connection with the third party devices is shown
in Fig. 1.

1. Check if the
communication is normal
according to status of LED
HL1 and HL2.
2. Check if the connection is
correct according to Fig. 1.
3. Check addresses of control
panels in turn.
