Introduction
To enjoy your new Quarz 2000S terrace radiator for as
long as possible, please read carefully the Operating
Instructions and the enclosed safety instructions before
putting it into operation. Further, it is recommended to
keep this manual for future reference – when features of
this product are required to be recalled. Because of the
continuous development of our products, we reserve the
right to make technical changes to develop them.
This document represents the original Operating
Instructions.

General safety instructions
When using electric devices, basic safety regulations
must be followed to prevent a risk of fire, electric
shock and injuries to persons including the following:
Please read and follow all these instructions before putting
the appliance into operation.
Keep the safety instructions for future reference!
Safe work
Keep the place of your work clean!
Mess in the place of work can result in injuries.
Consider the surrounding influences
Do not expose the appliance to rain.
Do not use the appliance in a wet or moist environment.
Ensure good lighting.
Do not use the appliance near flammable liquids or gases.
Protect yourself against electric shock!
Avoid getting in touch with earthed parts.
Keep other persons in a safe distance!
Do not let other persons, especially children, touch the
cable. Keep them in a sufficient distance from the place of
your work.
Store the appliance properly!
An appliance that is not being used should be stored in a
dry, locked place inapproachable to children.
Do not overload the appliance!
Working will be better and safer in the power range for
which the appliance has been dimensioned.
Use the right appliance!
Do not use the appliance for purposes for which it has not
been designed.
Do not use the cable for purposes for which it has not
been designed!
Do not use the cable to pull the plug out of outlet and
protect it against excess temperatures and sharp edges.
Secure the appliance!
Fix the appliance professionally as described in the
“Installation“ chapter.
Look after your appliance!
Follow the maintenance regulations and instructions.
Check regularly the appliance cable and have it replaced
by an authorised expert if damaged.
Check regularly the extension cable and replace it if
damaged. Keep the handles dry, with no oil and fat.
Pull the plug out of outlet!
When the appliance is not being used, before maintenance
or during installation work.
Avoid unintentional appliance switch-on!
Make sure the switch is in the “off“ position when plugging
the appliance.
Extension cable for outdoor use:
Approved extension cables with an appropriate marking
should only be used outdoors.
Be careful!
Pay attention to what you are doing. Use common sense
when working. Do not use the appliance when you are
tired.
Check whether the appliance is not damaged!
Before the appliance is operated, protective devices and
slightly damaged parts need to be carefully inspected
whether still working perfectly.
Check whether the rotating parts are working all right and
whether they are not jammed or damaged.
All parts must be fitted properly and must meet conditions
so that perfect appliance operation is guaranteed.
Any damaged protective devices and parts need to be
repaired or replaced by an authorised service centre
unless provided otherwise in the Operating Instructions.
Have any damaged switches replaced in a service centre.
Do not use appliances with a defective switch.
CAUTION!
Use of other extensions and other accessories may result
in a risk of injury.
Have your appliance repaired by an electrician only!
This appliance corresponds to appropriate safety
provisions. Repairs may only be executed by an electrician
using original spare parts; otherwise, there might be a risk
of injury to the user.
This appliance must not be used by persons (including
children) with reduced physical, sensory and mental
abilities and persons lacking experience and knowledge,
not even when supervised by a person responsible for
their safety.
Children must be supervised to make sure they do not play
with the appliance.
If the feeder cable of the appliance is damaged, it must be
replaced by the manufacturer or its customer service
centre or a similarly qualified person to prevent risks.
Appliance-specific safety instructions
The appliance must necessarily be protected
against moisture and rain.
Make sure the appliance is fitted safely at all
times. Check the fitting before putting the
appliance into operation.
Do not use the appliance near baths and
swimming pools.
Do not use the appliance indoors.
Do not use the appliance near gas bottles.
Do not put any items in the heating grid.
Never touch the heating grid.

It is necessary to wait until the appliance has
completely cooled down before disassembling
and maintaining it.
Never touch the heating head when the
appliance is being operated.
Never let the appliance switched on or
unattended when you are not around.
Do not let children or pets get in the immediate
vicinity of the appliance.
The appliance should never be installed near
flammable materials.
The terrace radiator should never be covered.
Prevent vibrations and impacts on the appliance.
Have any appliance damage repaired by an
electrician only.
In any case, do not use the appliance as a
clothes-horse, etc.
Do not use the appliance for room heating.
If the appliance is not in the standard installation
position, e.g. the stand has fallen upon a
parasol, the automatic emergency switch will
provide immediate switch-off.
Installation and starting up instructions
Unpack the Quarz 2000 S terrace radiator and
check whether the supply is complete.
Remove all packing materials, especially off the
heating heads.
Plug the appliance only after all installation
works have been finished.
In any case, do not put the appliance into
operation if you detect any damage to the
appliance or feeder cable.
Now fix the terrace radiator to the firm vertical
rounded rod (ø 25mm-58mm) with its legs being
in a sufficient contact with the ground as shown
in picture 1, e.g. a terrace parasol anchored by
weight.
Now insert the part B – see picture 2 – to the
gap from below and tighten the wing screw
(picture 3).
The appliance should be fixed at a minimum
height of 1.80 m with at least 30 cm distance
from the roof/parasol.
The construction stability must necessarily be
provided, taking into account the additional
weight load.
Plug the terrace radiator. First, tip the appliance
out as it does not work when in a tipped position.
Now tip the three heating elements out to click in
the operating position.
After the heating elements have clicked in,
proceed according to pic. 4.
The switch in the appliance body is used to
check the three heating levels.

Warranty
The warranty exclusively applies to material or
manufacturing defects. The original proof of purchase with
the purchase date must be submitted when lodging a claim
in the warranty period. The warranty does not include any
unauthorised use, e.g. appliance overloading, violent use,
damage by a third party or foreign item. The failure to
follow the Operating Instructions and ordinary wear and
tear are not covered by the warranty, either.
Residual risks and protective measures
Direct electrical contact
A defective cable or plug may lead to life-threatening
electric shock.
Have any defective cables or plugs replaced by an expert.
Use the appliance only on connection with a back-up
circuit breaker against stray current (RCD).
Indirect electrical contact
Injuries by conductive parts at exposed electrical or
defective construction parts. Unplug the appliance for any
maintenance work. To be used with the RCD switch only.
Behaviour in case of emergency
Provide necessary first aid treatment corresponding to the
injury nature and seek qualified medical help as soon as
possible
Protect the injured person from other injuries and calm
him/her down.
First aid kit must always be available in the place of
your work in case of accident in accordance with DIN
13164. Material taken out of the first aid kit needs to be
supplemented right away.
If help is needed, please provide the following details:

3. Number of injured persons
4. Injury type
Use as designated
The QUARZ 2000 S TERRACE RADIATOR is appropriate
for the generation of heat in a dry outdoor environment on
a form vertical rod with legs being in contact with the
ground. Following all the mentioned safety and installation
instructions is absolutely necessary. Any other use is in
conflict with designation.
Disposal
The disposal instructions are based on icons placed on the
appliance or its package. The description of the meanings
can be found in the “Marking” chapter.
Transport package disposal
The package protects the appliance against damage
during transport. Packing materials are usually chosen
depending on their environmental friendliness and disposal
method and can therefore be recycled.
Returning the package to material circulation saves raw
materials and reduces waste disposal costs.
Parts of packages (e.g. foils, styropor) can be dangerous
to children. Risk of suffocation!
Keep parts of packages away from children and dispose
them as soon as possible.
Operating staff requirements
The operator must carefully read the Operating
Instructions before using the appliance.
Qualification
No special qualification is necessary for using the
appliance apart from detailed instruction by a qualified
person.
Minimum age
The appliance may only be operated by persons over 16
years of age. An exception includes youngsters operating
the appliance within their professional education to
achieve necessary skills under teacher's supervision.
Training
Using the appliance only requires appropriate instructions
by a professional or reading the Operating Instructions. No
special training necessary.

Maintenance table
Before you start
working Check generally the feeder cable and
lighting medium for any sign of
damage.
Make sure the appliance is fitted
safely at all times. Check the fitting
before putting it into operation.
After finishing
work After being used, wipe the appliance
with a well squeezed cloth so that the
surface and extensions are always
with no dust and dirt.
Planned change

Make sure the new lighting medium is
handled and installed carefully and
not by bare hands.
Halogen tube
change Always check that the voltage in the
system is off when the halogen tube
needs to be replaced. Caution: The
radiator may reach high
temperatures.
Let the bulb and body cool
down.
Release the fastening screw on
the radiator body and unscrew
the body.
Hold the defective halogen rod
firmly and take off the holder.
In any case, do not touch the
tube that is being changed by
hands without gloves, cloth.
Fit the halogen tube in the
holder.
Screw the body and make sure
the gasket ring is inserted
properly.
