this doorbell.
ƑAll electrical work must be in accordance with
national and local electrical codes. If in doubt,
consult a qualied electrician.
ƑThis doorbell requires a 16 volt AC, 10 watt or a 16
volt AC, 15 watt transformer (included).
WARNING: This doorbell requires a low voltage electrical
connection. Do not connect directly to 120V AC.
WARNING: Turn off power at fuse or circuit breaker
before installing transformer.

WHAT IS COVERED
This product is guaranteed to be free of factory defective parts and workmanship for a period of 3 years from date
of purchase. Purchase receipt is required for all warranty claims.
WHAT IS NOT COVERED
This warranty does not include expendable items (such as light bulbs, batteries, etc.), repair service, adjustment
and calibration due to misuse, abuse or negligence. Unauthorized service or modication of the product or of any
furnished component will void this warranty in its entirety. This warranty does not include reimbursement for
inconvenience, installation, setup time, loss of use, unauthorized service, or return shipping charges. This warranty

PLANNING INSTALLATION
Before installing the doorbell, ensure that all parts are present. Compare parts with the Hardware Included and
Package Contents sections. If any part is missing or damaged, do not attempt to assemble, install, or operate this
doorbell.

Installation
1 Mounting the transformer
WARNING: Turn off power at fuse or circuit breaker
before installing transformer (C).
IMPORTANT: Do not install the transformer (C) in an attic location.
ƑLocate or install a junction box (not included)
close to the selected mounting location for
your doorbell. For new installations, remove the
cover plate and knockout from the junction box.
ƑFrom the exterior of the junction box, pass the
transformer (C) wires through the knockout
hole in the junction box.
ƑFasten the locknut (1) to the transformer’s (C)
threaded shaft on the inside of the junction box to
secure the transformer (C) to the junction box.
2 Wiring the transformer
ƑIf needed, strip 1/2 in. of insulation from power
supply wires.
ƑConnect the transformer (C) wires to the power
supply wires in the junction box using UL
approved wire connectors (not included).
ƑConnect all white wires together.
ƑConnect all black wires together.
ƑConnect all ground (green or bare copper)
wires together.
ƑCheck all connections and replace the cover
plate.
IMPORTANT: For metal junction boxes, it is required to connect the
green ground wire from the transformer (C) to the metal junction box
or clamp it to the metal conduit.
3 Installing new doorbell wire
(not included)
ƑIf new wiring, route bell wire (not included)
from the transformer (C) to the doorbell
base(B) and both push buttons (D). Attach the
transformer (C) end of the three bell wires to
the low voltage screws on the transformer (C).
ƑRoute bell wire from the doorbell base (B) to
each of the push buttons (D).
ƑUsing masking tape, label all bell wire ends as
follows:
Ƒ“F” - Front door push button wire
Ƒ“T” - Transformer wire
Ƒ“R” - Rear door push button wire

4 Mounting the doorbell base
ƑRoute the wires through the wire entrance hole
in the doorbell base (B).
ƑUsing the “UP” arrow indicator, place the
doorbell base (B) against the wall and mark
the two screw hole locations.
ƑDrill two 7/32 in. pilot holes and insert wall
anchors (BB).
ƑAttach the doorbell base (B) to the mounting
surface using the two large screws (AA) and
tighten securely.

5 Wiring the doorbell
ƑConnect the doorbell wires to the doorbell
base (B):
ƑWire “F” to screw terminal “FRONT”
ƑWire “T” to screw terminal “TRANS”
ƑWire “R” to screw terminal “REAR”
ƑPress the doorbell cover (A) onto the doorbell
base (B).
NOTE: To remove doorbell cover (A) after doorbell
base(B) is mounted, rmly grasp doorbell cover (A) and
pull.
NOTE: Push button(s) wired to the screw terminal
marked “FRONT” will play the “Ding-Dong” sound. Push
button(s) wired to the screw terminal marked “REAR” will
play the “Ding” sound.

6 Installing the push buttons
ƑPlace one of the push buttons (D) on the
mounting surface where the bell wire exits and
verify it is level. Mark the mounting surface
through the two mounting holes and drill two
1/16 in. pilot holes.
ƑAttach the two bell wires to the screws on the
rear of the push button (D).
ƑPlace the push button (D) on the mounting
surface and attach using two small screws (CC).
ƑRepeat the steps above for the other push
button (D).
ƑTurn power back on at fuse or junction box and
test system to verify it is working properly.

Care and Cleaning
ƑUse a dry cloth to clean the doorbell cover and base.
ƑDo not use cleaners or polishes.
ƑDo not use any uids on the doorbell base.
Troubleshooting
Problem Possible Cause Solution
The doorbell does
not sound.
ƑThe transformer may
not be working properly.
ƑTest transformer voltage output with a volt meter. Set
the volt meter to read A/C voltage. Voltage should read
between 18 - 22 volts A/C on the low voltage side of the
transformer when the doorbell is NOT playing. If the volt
meter reads below 18 volts, replace the transformer.
ƑThe push button may
not be working properly.
ƑRemove the push button that is not working from the
door frame. Disconnect the wires from the terminals and
touch the bare wires together. If the doorbell sounds, the
push button is defective. Replace the push button.
ƑThe doorbell may not be
working properly.
ƑDisconnect the wire from the terminal marked “TRANS”.
While someone presses the push button at the front
door, quickly touch the “TRANS” wire to the terminal
marked “FRONT”. You will see a small spark if the push
button, wiring, and transformer are operating properly.
Repeat the steps for the “REAR” terminal and the rear
push button. If the wiring between the transformer and
the push button(s) checks out properly, replace the
doorbell.

Instalación
1 Montaje del transformador
ADVERTENCIA: Corte la alimentación en el fusible o
disyuntor antes de instalar el transformador (C).
IMPORTANTE: No instale el transformador (C) en el desván.
ƑUbique o instale una caja de conexiones (no
incluida) cerca de la ubicación de montaje
seleccionada para su timbre. Para instalaciones
nuevas retire la placa de la cubierta y la pieza
removible de la caja de conexiones.
ƑDesde el exterior de la caja de empalme, pase
los conductores del transformador (C) por
el oricio del disco removible de la caja de
empalme.
ƑFije la contratuerca (1) al eje roscado del
transformador (C) en el interior de la caja de
conexiones para asegurar el transformador (C)
a la caja de conexiones.
2 Cableado del transformador
ƑSi es necesario, pele 1/2 pulgada de
aislamiento de los cables de suministro de
alimentación.
ƑConecte los cables del transformador (C) a
los cables de suministro de alimentación en
la caja de conexiones usando conectores de
cables aprobados por UL (no incluidos).
ƑConecte todos los alambres blancos.
ƑConecte todos los alambres negros.
ƑConecte todos los cables de tierra (verde o
desnudo) juntos.
ƑRevise todas las conexiones y vuelva a colocar
la placa cubertora.
IMPORTANTE: Con cajas de empalme metálicas, se requiere
conectar el conductor verde de tierra del transformador (C) a esta
caja o sujetarla a la tubería metálica conduit.
3 Instalación de un nuevo cable
para el timbre (no incluido)
ƑSi es un nuevo cableado, pase el cable de
campana (no incluido) desde el transformador(C)
a la base del timbre (B) y ambos botones
pulsadores(D). Conecte el extremo del
transformador (C) de los tres cables de campana a
los tornillos de bajo voltaje en el transformador (C).
ƑPase el cable de timbre desde la base del
timbre (B) a cada uno de los pulsadores (D).
ƑUsando cinta adhesiva, etiquete todos los
extremos del cable del timbre de la siguiente
manera:
Ƒ“F” – Conductor del pulsador frontal
Ƒ“T” – Conductor del transformador
Ƒ“R” – Conductor del pulsador posterior

4 Montaje del timbre
ƑPase los cables por el oricio de entrada de
cables de la base (B) del timbre.
ƑUsando la echa indicadora “ARRIBA”, coloque
la base del timbre (B) contra la pared y marque
la ubicación de las dos oricios para tornillos.
ƑTaladre dos oricios guía de 7/32 pulgadas e
inserte las anclas de pared (BB).
ƑFije la base del timbre (B) a la supercie de
montaje con los dos tornillos grandes (AA) y
apriételos rmemente.

5 Cableado del timbre
ƑConecte los cables del timbre a la base del
timbre (B):
ƑEl cable “F” al terminal de tornillo “FRONT”
ƑEl cable “T” al terminal de tornillo “TRANS”
ƑEl cable “R” al terminal de tornillo “REAR”
ƑCierre a presión la tapa del timbre (A) sobre la
base del timbre (B).
NOTA: Para sacar la cubierta del timbre (A) después de
que se coloca la base del timbre (B), agarre rmemente la
cubierta del timbre (A) y tire.
NOTA: El (los) botón (es) conectado (s) al terminal de
tornillo marcado “FRONT” (ANTERIOR) reproducirá el
sonido “Ding-Dong”. Los botones conectados al terminal
de tornillo marcados “REAR” (POSTERIOR) reproducirán el
sonido “Ding”.

6 Instalación de los pulsadores
ƑColoque uno de los pulsadores (D) en la supercie
de montaje donde sale el cable del timbre y
verique que esté nivelado. Marque la supercie
de montaje en los dos oricios de montaje y
taladre dos oricios guía de 1/16 pulgadas.
ƑColoque los dos cables de la campana a
los tornillos en la parte posterior del botón
pulsador (D).
ƑColoque el pulsador (D) en la supercie
de montaje y fíjelo con dos tornillos
pequeños(CC).
ƑRepita los pasos anteriores con el otro
pulsador (D).
ƑVuelva a conectar la energía en el fusible
o caja de unión y pruebe el sistema para
vericar que funcione correctamente.

Cuidado y limpieza
ƑUse un paño seco para limpiar la tapa y la base del timbre.
ƑNo use limpiadores ni pulidores.
ƑNo use ningún líquido sobre la base del timbre.
Análisis de averías
Problema Causa Probable Solución
El timbre no
suena.
ƑEl transformador
puede no estar
funcionando co-
rrectamente.
ƑPruebe la salida de voltaje del transformador con un voltímetro.
Ajuste el voltímetro para que lea el voltaje CA. La lectura del
voltaje debería estar entre 18-22 voltios CA en el lado de bajo
voltaje del transformador cuando el timbre NO está sonando. Si el
voltímetro lee menos de 18 voltios, reemplace el transformador.
ƑEl botón pulsador
puede no estar
funcionando
correctamente.
ƑRetire el botón pulsador que no está funcionando desde el marco
de la puerta. Desconecte los cables de los terminales y toque
los cables desnudos juntos. Si el timbre suena, el pulsador está
defectuoso. Reemplace el botón pulsador.
ƑEl timbre puede
que no esté funcio-
nando correcta-
mente
ƑDesconecte el cable del terminal marcado “TRANS”. Mientras
alguien presiona el botón pulsador en la puerta delantera, toque
rápidamente el cable “TRANS” con el terminal marcado “FRONT”
(DELANTERA). Verá una pequeña chispa si el botón pulsador, el
cableado y el transformador están funcionando correctamente.
Repita los pasos para el terminal “REAR” (POSTERIOR) y el botón
pulsador posterior. Si el cableado entre el transformador y el o los
pulsadores está bien, reemplace el timbre.
