Instruction Manual

Thank you for purchasing the Hangar 9™Perfect Peak™DC TX/RX Peak
Prediction Charger.This charger uses a unique peak prediction circuitry that
ensures an accurate charge every time and protects your Ni-Cd and NiMH
batteries from the dangers of over-charging.The Perfect Peak uses a smart
chip that predicts when your batteries are fully charged, then switches to trickle
charge.The Perfect Peak allows you to charge your transmitter and receiver
batteries independently or simultaneously.
Please read through the instruction manual carefully before attempting to use
this charger. By properly following these instructions, your charger will
provide you with many years of trouble-free operation.
Perfect Peak DC Charger Features:
• Negative reflex charging that conditions batteries
• 750mAh charge rate

• Banana plugs for use with power panels
• Auto-trickle charge upon completion of peak charge
• Includes charge lead for both TX and RX
• Charges 250-1800mAh Ni-Cd and NiMH batteries

• LED light and beeper indicate when charge is complete

Supplying Power to the Charger
The Perfect Peak is powered by connecting it to a 12V power source,
such as a 12V Sealed Battery (HAN102), a 12V automobile battery,
or through your field box power panel.You can also purchase an optional
Perfect Peak AC Adapter (HAN9521).
DC Power
Attach the red (positive) banana plug to the red (positive) terminal on your
12V battery or power panel. Next, attach the black (negative) banana plug to
the black (negative) terminal. Alligator clip adapters are also provided if you
choose to choose the 12V hobby battery as your power source.

Charging 4/5-Cell Receiver Batteries
The Perfect Peak includes a universal charge lead so that you can charge all
major brands of receiver batteries.To charge the battery:
• Hook up the end of the lead to the 4-5 cell terminal of the charger,
making sure that you attach the red of the lead wire to the red of the
charger hook-up. Next, attach the black of the lead wire to the black of
the charger hook-up.
• Plug the connector to into the receiver battery pack.The charger will “beep”
once after this has been done.
• Connect the Perfect Peak to an appropriate DC power supply. LEDs
will indicate the charge cycle; a sold green light indicates the battery is
charging. A flashing green light and repeated “beep” will indicate that the
battery is fully charged and is on trickle charge.
Charging Transmitter Batteries
The Perfect Peak includes a universal transmitter plug.To charge the battery:
• Connect the Perfect Peak to an appropriate 12V power supply.
• If you are charging a Futaba transmitter pack, simply attach the red wire of
the lead to the red of the charger hook-up. Next, attach the black wire of the
charge lead to the black of the charger hook-up.
• If charging a JR®transmitter pack, you will need to attach the red wire of
the charge lead to the black charger hook-up and the black wire lead of the
charge lead to the red charger hook-up.
• Plug the connector of the lead into the transmitter jack.Your transmitter
battery pack should now be charging.
• The LEDs will indicate the charge cycle. A solid green light indicates the
battery is charging; a flashing green light and a repeated “beep” will
indicate the battery is fully charged and is now on trickle charge.
Note: The 12V input and TX/RX outputs are reverse polarity protected.
When hooked up backwards the charger will not charge.
Trickle Charge
Once the batteries are fully charged, the charger will repeatedly beep, and the
green light will flash.This will indicate that the battery is now on trickle charge.
At trickle charge, the batteries will charge at 50mA.
Re-peak
To re-peak a battery, disconnect the battery and reconnect it.Connect the
battery again to begin the charge cycle.

Safety Precautions
Do not leave the battery (batteries) and charger unattended while in use.
When charging, constantly monitor the temperature of the battery pack(s).
If the battery pack(s) become(s) hot to the touch, discontinue the charging
operation immediately by disconnecting the battery pack(s). Do not allow
children to charge battery packs unless they are supervised by a responsible
adult.The faceplate of the charger could become hot during charging,
especially if charging a TX and RX pack at the same time.
Warranty and Repair Policy
Your Perfect Peak is guaranteed against workmanship and manufacturing
defects for a period of 2 years from the original date of purchase.This warranty
is limited to the original purchaser of the charger and is not transferable.
Warranty repair will not cover units that have been modified, misused, or
serviced by an unauthorized service center.

Include your complete name and address information inside the carton, as
well as clearly writing it on the outer label/return address area. Include a brief
summary of the difficulty. Date your correspondence and be sure that your
name and address appear on this enclosure.Also, please include a phone
number where you can be reached during the business day.
Warranty Repairs
To receive warranty service, you must include your original sales receipt
verifying proof-of-purchase date. Providing warranty conditions have been met,
your charger will be repaired free of charge.
Non-Warranty Repairs
Should your repair cost exceed 50% of the retail purchase cost, you will be
provided with an estimate advising you of your options. Any return freight for
non-warranty repairs will be billed to the consumer. For non-warranty repairs,
please advise us of the credit card you prefer to use. Horizon Service Center
accepts Visa or MasterCard. Include your card number and expiration date.
Horizon Service Center also accepts money orders.
