Compatibility Requirements: Moto Z Phone with
Moto Mods Platform 1.0 or later
Attach your Moto Mods™
Align the camera lens on the back of your phone
with the speaker, and then align the sides and
bottom of the phone with the speaker until they
snap together.
Note: Make sure the connectors are clean and dry.
Also, remove your phone case if you use one.
Caution: Before using your device, please read
the safety, regulatory, and legal information at
the back of this guide.

Quick setup
When you attach the speaker, your phone
automatically guides you through setup. Follow
the on-screen instructions to get started.
Play media
Once your speaker is attached, begin using your
phone as usual to play music or watch videos.
Media will automatically play through the JBL
SoundBoost speaker when attached to the phone.
Adjust volume
To change the volume for your speaker, use your
phone’s volume controls.

Charge it
Fully charge before using your speaker.
Tip: If your phone is still attached to the speaker,
charging the phone is the best way to charge both
at the same time.

prohibit certain hazardous substances and to
improve environmental performance of batteries

Disposal of Used Batteries
To remove the batteries from your equipment or
remote control, reverse the procedure described in
the owner’s manual for inserting batteries.
For products with a built-in battery that lasts for the
lifetime of the product, removal may not be possible
for the user. In this case, recycling or recovery
centers handle the dismantling of the product and
the removal of the battery. If, for any reason, it
becomes necessary to replace such a battery, this
procedure must be performed by authorized service
centers.
In the European Union and other locations, it is
illegal to dispose of any battery with household
trash. All batteries must be disposed of in an
environmentally sound manner. Contact your local
waste-management officials for information
regarding the environmentally sound collection,
recycling and disposal of used batteries.

LIMITED WARRANTY
HARMAN International Industries, Incorporated
(“HARMAN”) is the manufacturer and through its
local subsidiary, warrants to you that the Product
(including components provided in/with the
Product) will be free from defects in workmanship
and materials for a period of ONE year from the
date of retail purchase by you (the “Warranty
Period”). During the Warranty Period, the Product
(including components), will be repaired or replaced
at HARMAN’s option, without charge for either
parts or labor OR at HARMAN’s sole option, the
price of the Product may be refunded, subject to

fixed installation, setup or adjustments, claims
based on misrepresentation by the seller,
performance variations resulting from installa-
tion-related circumstances such as source quality or
AC power or Product modifications, any unit on
which the serial number has been effaced, modified
or removed, or units used for other than home use.
This Limited Warranty is valid only for JBL products
purchased from an authorized dealer.
Except to the extent expressly prohibited in your
jurisdiction by applicable law, all implied warranties,
including fitness for a particular purpose and
merchantability are hereby excluded and in no event
shall HARMAN or any HARMAN subsidiary be liable
for any indirect, direct, incidental, special or
consequential loss or damages whatsoever
(including, without limitation, other pecuniary loss)
arising out of the use of or inability to use the
Product, even if HARMAN and/or a HARMAN
subsidiary have been advised of the possibility of
such damages. To any extent that HARMAN cannot
lawfully disclaim implied warranties under this
Limited Warranty, all such implied warranties are
limited in duration to the duration of this warranty.

invoice or other proof of ownership and date of
purchase. Do not return your Product without prior
authorization from the corresponding dealer or
HARMAN. Warranty repair of the HARMAN Product
must be carried out by an authorized dealer or
service center. Unauthorized warranty repair will
void the warranty and is performed at your sole risk.

WHO PAYS FOR WHAT
This Limited Warranty covers all expenses for labor
and materials required for the repair OR replace-
ment of the Product that is found to be defective,
and a reasonable return shipping charge within the

shipping carton(s), because a charge will be made
for additional cartons/packaging.
You will be charged for the cost of examining a unit
that is not in need of repair (including resulting
shipping costs), or for necessary repairs not covered

Cet appareil respecte la Partie 15 des règles de la
FCC.
Son utilisation est sujette aux deux conditions
suivantes :
(1) Cet équipement ne doit pas créer d'interférences
dangereuses, et (2) cet appareil doit accepter toute
interférence reçue, incluant celles pouvant entraîner
un mauvais fonctionnement.

Commission concernant les interférences
Cet équipement a été testé et est déclaré conforme
aux limites d'un appareil de Classe B, selon l'article 15
des Règles FCC. Ces limites ont étés mises en place
pour offrir une protection raisonnable contre les
interférences dans un complexe résidentiel. Cet
équipement génère, utilise et contient de l'énergie
de fréquence radio, si inutilisé incorrectement
pourrait créer des interférences dangereuses pour
les communications radio. Mais il n'existe aucune
garantie que des interférences ne seront pas
produites dans une installation particulière.
Si cet équipement crée des interférences pour la
réception radio ou télévisuelle, ce qui peut être
constaté en l'allumant et en l'éteignant, alors il vous
est conseillé d'y remédier d'une des manières

• Réorientez ou déplacez l'antenne de réception.

Conformité RoHS
Ce produit est conforme à la directive 2011/65/EU
du parlement et du conseil européen du 8 juin 2011
concernant les restrictions d'utilisation de certains
produits dangereux dans les produits électriques et
électroniques.
Directive 2013/56/EU pour les produits compor-
tant des piles.
Une nouvelle directive concernant les piles
immatriculée 2013/56/EU applicable au remplace-
ment des piles et accumulateurs est entrée en
application le 1 juillet 2015. La directive est
applicable à tous les types de piles et d'accumula-
teurs (AA, AAA, piles bouton, acide de plomb,
packs rechargeables), y compris ceux qui sont
intégrés dans des appareils à l'exception des
équipements militaires, médicaux et des outils
électriques.
La directive définit des règles concernant la collecte,
le traitement, le recyclage ainsi que la mise au rebut
des piles, et a pour but d'interdire certaines
substances et d'améliorer les performances
environnementales des piles et des acteurs de leur
chaîne de production.
Instructions aux utilisateurs concernant le retrait, le
recyclage et la mise au rebut des piles usagées
Pour retirer les piles de votre équipement ou
télécommande, appliquez les étapes d'installation
décrites dans le mode d'emploi, dans le sens
inverse.
Dans le cas des produits équipés de piles intégrées
conçues pour durer pendant toute la durée de vie
du produit, il se peut que l'utilisateur ne puisse pas
les remplacer. Dans ce cas, les centres de recyclage
et de valorisation peuvent se charger de démonter
le produit pour en extraire la batterie. Si, pour une
raison quelconque, il se révèle nécessaire de
remplacer ce type de pile, prenez contact avec un
centre de services agréé.
Attention: tout changement ou modification
effectué sans l'autorisation expresse de HARMAN
peut révoquer vos droits d'utilisation de cet
équipement.
Déclaration DEEE
La directive Déchets d’Equipements Electriques et
Electroniques (WEEE en anglais), qui est devenue
loi applicable à partir du 14 février 2014 en Europe, a
entraîné des changements majeurs en ce qui
concerne le traitement des équipements électriques
en fin de vie utile. Le but de cette directive est,
comme première priorité la prévention DEEE, et
particulièrement de promouvoir la réutilisation, le
recyclage et d'autres formes de valorisation de ces
déchets, de manière à en réduire les rejets. Le logo
WEEE apposé sur le produit ou sa boîte indiquant
que ce produit doit être mis au rebut comme un
produit électrique ou électronique ressemble à une
poubelle sur roues barrée, comme illustré
ci-dessous.
Ce produit ne doit pas être jeté ni mis au
rebut avec les déchets ménagers classiques.
Il est de votre responsabilité de jeter les
produits électriques et électroniques dans
les points de collecte dédiés au recyclage
de tels produits dangereux.
La mise au rebut correcte et la revalorisation des
produits électriques et électroniques nous
permettra de participer à la conservation des
ressources naturelles. De plus, le recyclage
correctement effectué des produits électriques et
électroniques permet de garantir la sécurité de la
santé humaine et de l'environnement. Pour en savoir
plus sur la mise au rebut des produits électriques et
électroniques, leur recyclage et sur les points de
collecte dédiés, prenez contact avec vos autorités
locales, le service de collecte des déchets, le
magasin où vous avez acheté l'équipement ou le
fabricant de ce dernier.
Dans l'Union Européenne et dans d'autres régions, il
est illégal de jeter une pile de n'importe quel type
avec les déchets ménagers. Toutes les piles doivent
être mises au rebut d'une manière sûre pour
l'environnement. Prenez contact avec les autorités
en charge de la gestion des déchets pour en savoir
plus sur comment effectuer correctement la
collecte, le recyclage et la valorisation des piles
usagées.
MISE EN GARDE: danger d'explosion si une pile est
incorrectement insérée. Pour réduire les risques
d’incendie ou de brûlure, ne pas démonter, écraser,
perforer, court-circuiter les contacts externes, exposer
ce produit à des températures dépassant 60°C
(140°F), ou jeter ce produit dans un feu ou dans l’eau.
Remplacer uniquement avec le type de pile spécifié.
Le symbole indiquant « Collecte séparée » pour toutes
les piles et accumulateurs doit être une poubelle sur
roues barrée comme illustré ci-dessous:
