3.1 | Anleitung lesen und aufbewahren
Diese Gebrauchsanleitung gehört ausschließlich zu diesem Produkt.
Sie enthält wichtige Hinweise zur Handhabung und Wartung.
Lesen Sie die Anleitung, insbesondere die Sicherheitshinweise,
sorgfältig durch, bevor Sie das Vorhängeschloss verwenden. Die
Nichtbeachtung dieser Gebrauchsanleitung kann zu Verletzungen
oder zu Schäden am Schloss bzw. Fahrzeug führen.
Die Anleitung basiert auf den in der Europäischen Union gültigen
Normen und Regeln. Beachten Sie im Ausland auch landesspezi-
fische Richtlinien und Gesetze. Bewahren Sie die Anleitung für die
weitere Nutzung auf. Wenn Sie das Vorhängeschloss an Dritte weiter-
geben, geben Sie unbedingt diese Gebrauchsanleitung mit.

Die folgenden Symbole und Signalwörter können in dieser Anleitung
verwendet werden.
4 | Sicherheit
4.1 | Bestimmungsgemäßer Gebrauch
Das Hartmann Vorhängeschloss dient dem Schutz vor Gelegenheits-
dieben und sichert schnell und einfach Gepäck, Sportausrüstung
und Reißverschlüsse von Taschen aller Art, soweit eine Schlossöse
vorhanden ist.

Dieses Signalsymbol/-wort bezeich-
net eine Gefährdung mit einem
mittleren Risikograd, die, wenn sie
nicht vermieden wird, den Tod oder
eine schwere Verletzung zur Folge
haben kann.
HINWEIS! Dieses Signalwort warnt vor mögli-
chen Sachschäden.

Verwenden Sie das Hartmann Vorhängeschloss nur wie in dieser
Anleitung beschrieben. Jede andere Verwendung gilt als nicht be-
stimmungsgemäß und kann zu Sachschäden führen. Der Hersteller
oder Händler übernimmt keine Haftung für Schäden, die durch nicht
bestimmungsgemäßen oder falschen Gebrauch entstanden sind.
4.2 | Sicherheitshinweise
Gefahren für Kinder und Personen mit verringerten
physischen, sensorischen oder mentalen Fähigkei-
ten (beispielsweise teilweise Behinderte, ältere
Personen mit Einschränkung ihrer physischen und
mentalen Fähigkeiten) oder Mangel an Erfahrung
und Wissen im Umgang mit Motorrädern (bei-
spielsweise ältere Kinder).
• Zum Lieferumfang gehörende Verpackungsfolie
halten Sie fern von Kindern, da Erstickungsgefahr
besteht.
Beschädigungsgefahr!
• Achten Sie bei der Verwendung des Schlosses
darauf, dass dieses nicht an heißen Fahrzeugtei-
len oder vor der Auspufföffnung angebracht wird.
• Schützen Sie Fahrzeugteile und deren empfind-
liche Oberflächen, die mit dem Schloss in
Berührung kommen können, grundsätzlich gegen
Kratzer aufgrund Reibung, Vibration usw. Dieses
gelingt Ihnen z.B. mit transparenten, selbstkle-
benden Schutzfolien.

• Halten Sie die zum Motorrad gerichteten Flächen
des Schlosses zusätzlich stets sauber. Sand,
Staub und andere Verschmutzungen können auf-
grund des Schleifeffekts Oberflächen (besonders
Lackierungen) schädigen.
5 | Einstellung
5.1 | Kombination einstellen
• Stellen Sie die richtige Zahlenkombination zum Öffnen ein (Werk-
seinstellung 0-0-0 an der Schmalseite des Schlosses mit den
Feilmarkierungen fluchtend).
• Drehen Sie den Bügel um 90 Grad nach rechts. Drücken Sie den
Bügel mit der Nase in die vorgesehene kleine Nut.
• Halten Sie den Bügel gedrückt, während Sie Ihre Wunsch-Zahlen-
kombination einstellen.
• Wenn Sie Ihre Wunsch-Zahlenkombination eingestellt haben (an
der Schmalseite des Schlosses mit den Feilmarkierungen fluch-
tend), lassen Sie den Bügel los. Das Schloss ist nunmehr auf Ihre
Zahlenkombination eingestellt.
5.2 | Verschließen
• Wählen Sie ein Objekt zum Verschließen. Schließen Sie das
Schloss mit einrastendem Bügel und verstellen Sie die Zah-
lenkombination willkürlich. Es kann nunmehr nur noch mit der
Wunschkombination geöffnet werden.

5.3 | Öffnen
• Stellen Sie Ihre Wunsch-Zahlenkombination (an der Schmalseite
des Schlosses mit den Feilmarkierungen fluchtend) zum Öffnen
ein.
• Das Schloss kann nun geöffnet werden.
6 | Anwendung
Das Schloss wird z.B. an den Ösen eines verschließbaren
Gepäckreißverschlusses eingehängt und fest verschlossen, sodass
der Reißverschluss für Unbefugte ohne Gewaltanwendung nicht mehr
zu öffnen ist.
7 | Lagerung
Lagern Sie das Vorhängeschloss in einem vor Witterung und
Feuchtigkeit geschützten geschlossenen Raum. Die Luftfeuchtigkeit
von max. 80% (nicht kondensierend) sollte nicht überschritten
werden.
8 | Reinigung und Pflege
Reinigen Sie das Vorhängeschloss ausschließlich mit warmer

Seifenlauge und einem weichen Tuch per Hand. Verwenden Sie auf
keinen Fall scharfe Reinigungsmittel oder ähnliches. Ölen Sie den
Schließmechanismus nach der Reinigung ggf. mit etwas Feinöl.
9 | Gewährleistung
Für Ihr Hartmann Vorhängeschloss gilt die gesetzliche Gewährleis-
tung von zwei Jahren. Der Gewährleistungszeitraum beginnt ab dem
Kaufdatum. Gebrauchsspuren, Zweckentfremdung, nicht bestim-
mungsgemäßer Gebrauch und Schäden, die aus einem Unfall, einer
Manipulation oder einem Reparaturversuch durch unautorisierte Kun-
dendienste oder Personen resultieren oder technisch abgeänderte
Schlösser sind von der Gewährleistung ausgeschlossen.
10 | Entsorgung
Verpackung entsorgen
Entsorgen Sie die Verpackung sortenrein. Geben Sie
Pappe und Karton zum Altpapier, Folien und Blister in die
Wertstoffsammlung.
Vorhängeschloss entsorgen
(Anwendbar in der Europäischen Union und anderen europäischen
Staaten mit Systemen zur getrennten Sammlung von Wertstoffen)
Soll das Vorhängeschloss entsorgt werden, geben Sie es bei einem
örtlichen Recyclinghof oder einer Sammelstelle für Metallschrott ab.

3.1 | Reading and keeping these instructions
These instructions for use are exclusively for this product. They
contain important information on handling and maintenance.
Read these instructions carefully, in particular the safety
instructions, before using the padlock. Failure to adhere to these
instructions for use can lead to injury or damage to the lock.
The instructions are based on the standards and regulations valid in
the European Union. If abroad, observe country-specific guidelines
and laws. Keep these instructions for future reference. If you pass
the padlock on to third parties, you must also hand over these
instructions for use.
3.2 | Explanations of symbols
The following symbols and signal words may be used in these
instructions.
4 | Safety
4.1 | Intended use
The Hartmann padlock is used to provide quick and simple
protection from opportunistic thieves, and safeguards luggage,
sports equipment, zip fasteners on bags of all kinds (provided a lock
eyelet is present).
Only use the Hartmann padlock as described in these instructions.
Any other use is considered improper use and may result in material
damage. The manufacturer or supplier accepts no liability for
damage caused by improper or incorrect use.
This signal symbol/word indicates

which, if not avoided, may result in

4.2 | Safety instructions
Danger for children and persons with reduced
physical, sensory or mental abilities (e.g.
partially disabled persons, elderly persons with
reduced physical and mental abilities) or lack
of experience and knowledge of dealing with
motorcycles (e.g. older children).
• Keep the packaging film away from children, as
there is a risk of suffocation.
Risk of damage!
• When using the lock, make sure that it is not
attached to hot vehicle parts or in front of the
exhaust opening.
• Protect vehicle parts and their sensitive surfaces,
which may come into contact with the lock, from
scratches caused by friction or vibration etc. You
can do so, for example, using transparent, self-
adhesive protective film.
• Always keep the surfaces of the lock which face
the bike clean. Sand, dust and other soiling can
damage surfaces (especially paintwork) as they
act like sandpaper.

5 | Setting up
5.1 | Setting the combination
• Set the correct combination for opening (factory setting 0-0-0
aligned with the arrow markings on the narrow side of the lock).
• Turn the shackle 90 degrees to the right. Push shackle with the
nose into the designated groove.
• Hold the shackle in the pushed position whilst you set your
desired combination.
• Once you have set your desired combination (aligned with the
arrow markings on the narrow side of the lock), release the
shackle. The lock is now set to your own combination.
5.2 | Locking
• Select an object to lock to. Close the lock with the shackle
engaged and reset the numbers to a random combination. It can
now only be opened with your own combination.
5.3 | Opening
• Set your own combination (aligned with the arrow markings on the
narrow side of the lock) to open.
• The lock can now be opened.

6 | How to use
The lock is attached to the eyelets of a lockable luggage zip fastener,
for instance, and locked so that the zip fastener can no longer be
opened by unauthorised parties without the use of force.
7 | Storage
Store the padlock in a closed room which is protected from the
weather and moisture. The air humidity should not exceed 80%
(non-condensing).
8 | Cleaning and care
Only ever clean the padlock by hand with warm soapy water and
a soft cloth. Never use harsh cleaning products or similar. Oil the
locking mechanism after cleaning as necessary with a little fine oil.
9 | Warranty
Your Hartmann padlock is covered by the statutory two-year warranty.
The warranty period begins on the date of purchase. The warranty
does not cover normal wear and tear, use for anything other than the

intended purpose, damage caused by an accident or by modifica-
tions or attempted repairs by unauthorised persons, or changes to
the technical specification.
10 | Disposal
Packaging disposal
Please dispose of the packaging properly. Dispose of card
and cardboard with the waste paper and dispose of plastic
film and blister packaging with recyclables.
Disposing of the padlock
(Applicable in the European Union and other European countries with
systems for separate collection of recyclables)
If you wish to dispose of the padlock, hand it over to a local recycling
centre or a collection point for scrap metal.
