• The device must be installed in such a way that the warning texts are easy to read
after installation.
• The device must not be installed in a wall recess, unless otherwise stated in the
instructions.
• Do not place the supply air vent so that the air flow cools the temperature sensor (see
temperature sensor installation instructions!)
• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturers’ service person
or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
• Use of a PVC-insulated cable as a connection cable for the heater is prohibited due to
its thermal fragility.
• Do not connect power supply to electric heater via a residual current device.
• If device is connected to water supply, there must be a floor drain on the floor of the
sauna room and/or washroom in case of hose breaks or leaks.
• If device is used in public saunas without a timer, the indicator light, which tells if the
device is on, must be placed in the room where the device is controlled.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE AND BATHING
Always check that there are no objects on the heater or near the heater before
switching it on.
Beware of hot heater. The stones and metal parts of the heater may burn the
skin.
Do not cover!
• Sea air and a humid climate may corrode the metal surfaces of the device.
• Do not hang clothes to dry in the sauna, as this may cause a risk of fire. Excessive moisture
content may also cause damage to the electrical equipment.
• Do not press the overheating protection button before the cause of the fault has
been found. Only persons authorised to carry out electrical installations can reset the
overheat protector, unless otherwise stated in the instructions manual.
• Always check that the heater has switched off and stopped heating after the on-time
period has elapsed.
• In public saunas, where the heater is used without a timer or continuously for longer
than the timer of the heater or the control unit allows with the factory settings, the
device must be constantly supervised.
• The sauna room and surroundings of the heater must always be checked before the
heater is switched on again or it is switched on with the remote-control system.
• The sauna room and surroundings of the heater must always be checked before
the device is brought into standby mode required by remote control or pre-timed
operation.

TECHNICAL DATA
Table 1a. Technical data, Xenio WiFi control panel / MyHarvia mobile application

9
EN
Harvia Xenio WiFi control panel is designed to control Harvia sauna devices: control center, electric
heater or combi-heater. With the control panel it is also possible to control accessories like the lighting
and ventilation of the sauna room. The ability to control accessories depends on the connection options
of the device being controlled. Xenio WiFi control panel can only be connected to compatible Harvia
products. See the manual of controlled device for more device-specific information.
The Xenio WiFi -control panel can be controlled by using MyHarvia mobile application. With the mobile
application you can, for example, see the status of the heater, temperature of the sauna room and
remaining heating time anywhere, anytime.
The control panel is splashproof and has a small operating voltage. The panel can be installed in the
washing or dressing room, or in the living quarters. If the panel is installed in the sauna room, it must
be at the minimum safety distance from the heater and at a maximum height of one metre (1m) from
the floor. Conductor tubing (ø 30mm) inside the wall structure allows you to thread the data cable
hidden within the wall – otherwise the installation will have to be on the wall surface. If the control
panel is exposed to water splashes, flush mounting is recommended. The existing Xenio control panel
can be replaced with Xenio WiFi panel without an electrician.
» See Figure 2 Installing the control panel
Install the control panel in a location with a good WiFi connection. You can ensure an adequate
WiFi connection with your phone:
» Disable mobile data on your phone.
» Turn on your phone’s WiFi.
» The WiFi connection at the installation location is adequate if the WiFi connection of your phone
is good and other applications that require data transfer work properly.
If the connection is not adequate:
» Try another location.
» If possible, change the location of your WiFi base station so that the connection to the Xenio WiFi
control panel is better.
Building structure, building materials, flush mounting and other similar issues may reduce the
quality of the WiFi connection.
Tip! A WiFi network extender can be used to enhance the network reach.

Using the Heater and the Steamer
When the device is connected to the power supply and the main switch (
further information
System
components
) is switched on, the control unit is in standby mode and ready for use. I/O buttons’
background lights glow on the control panel. (Device = power unit / Harvia XE-heater)
Heater and/or Steamer On:
Heater and steamer are switched on and off independently.
Start the heater by pressing the heater I/O button on the control panel.
Start the steamer by pressing the steamer I/O button on the control panel.
When the heater and/or steamer starts, the display will show previously set values for five seconds. The
shown values (temperature/humidity/on-time) differ depending on which devices are started.
When the desired temperature and/or humidity has been reached in the sauna room, the heating
elements are automatically turned off. To maintain the desired temperature and/or humidity, the control
unit will automatically turn the heating elements on and off in periods. If the heater efficiency is suitable
and the sauna has been built correctly, the sauna takes no more than an hour to warm up.
Heater and/or Steamer Off:
The heater and/or steamer turn off and the control unit switches to standby mode when:
• the I/O button is pressed
• the on time has elapsed or
• an error occurs.
If the water container runs empty, the steamer will be turned off, the water level warning light will
blink, and the display will show the text “OFF”. If the water level sensor develops a failure, the steamer’s
overheat protector will engage, the water level warning light will blink, and the display will show the text
“OFF” (
further information
Error Messages).
NOTE! It is essential to check that the control unit has cut off power from the heater after
the on time has elapsed, the dehumidification has ended or the heater has been switched off
manually.
Changing the Settings:
The settings menu structure and changing the settings is shown in figures 3a and 3b. The programmed
temperature and humidity values and all values of additional settings are stored in memory and will
also apply when the devices are switched on next time.
Note! The humidity value determines the maximum temperature in the sauna. The sum
of temperature and humidity values can be 140 at maximum (temperature 60 °C +
humidity 80 rH). This is due to safety reasons. If the steamer is activated and you try to
set the temperature too high, the humidity value will blink in the display.
3. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Note! The sauna room and surroundings of the heater must always be checked
before the heater is switched on again or it is switched on with the remote-control
system.
Remote use with the safety switch: The heater can be turned on remotely if the safety switch circuit is
closed. If the circuit is open, ”SAFE” is displayed and the heater will not start.
Preset time: If the control unit is on preset delay time, it cannot be controlled with a remote switch. After
the preset delay has passed and the heater is turned on, it can be turned off with a remote switch.
Dehumidifying: When the heater is turned off remotely and dehumidifying is enabled, dehumidifying
starts and cannot be stopped remotely. When dehumidifying is in progress and a safety switch is used, the
heater can be turned on remotely. If a door switch is used, the heater cannot be remotely started, as the
remote use mode must be re-activated by pressing and holding the control unit’s heater button for three
seconds.
Power saving mode: If no buttons are pressed in 30 minutes, power saving mode
is activated. Only the heater button (and ”rc on”, if remote use mode is active) is lit.
Pause time: When the heater is switched off, status message rESt. appears on the
control panel display. This feature prevents the heater from turning on automatically
during a timed start or weekly clock if it has been less than 6 hours since the
heater was last turned off.
