Information
This draft inducing collar can be used with any wood or coal burning appliance that uses single
wall or double wall stove pipe using a 6” flue ONLY.
This collar may not be installed in an attic, closet, floor, ceiling, or any other concealed space, or
on the roof.
Before installing this product, clean the stove pipe or chimney according to the heating appliance
manufacturer specifications.
Installation Instructions
Existing installation:
1. Select an installation location inside the same room as the stove.
2. Remove approximately a six inch section of stove pipe from the existing flue system.
3. Replace the removed flue section with the 90-99099 Draft Inducing Flue Collar, install the collar body
with the crimped edge downward (toward the stove). Ensure clearance is 16.5” minimum from the
outermost part of the Draft Inducing Flue Collar to any combustible material when using single wall
stove pipe, and 4.5 ” when using double wall stove pipe.
4. Re-connect flue system to the top of the collar as per applicable building codes in your area.
New Installation:
1. Begin installation of the Draft Induction Flue Collar after your licensed flue installation agent has
designed your flue, marked and installed any applicable wall/ceiling pass through systems and
indicated the appropriate location for your stove on the hearth
2. Install your stove on the applicable hearth (meeting or exceeding local codes for R-value).
3. Center the stove under the installed ceiling or wall penetration.
4. Install the Draft Inducting Flue Collar directly onto your stove outlet flue collar with the crimped edge
downward (toward the stove). The Draft Inducing Flue Collar may be mounted to your flue pipe some
distance away from the stove body; however, for ease of service attempt to locate the collar in the
same room as the stove and within about 4’ from the stove outlet. Ensure clearance is 16.5” minimum
from the outermost part of the Draft Inducing Flue Collar to any combustible material when using
single wall stove pipe, and 4.5 ” when using double wall stove pipe.
5. Contact your licensed flue installation agent and have them complete the flue installation from the
termination of the Draft Inducing Flue Collar out as per applicable building codes in your area.

Operation
From a Cold Stove:
1) Plug the unit into a standard 120VAC wall outlet. The collar may take on average 15 minutes to
create draw due to the wide variety of installations and environmental conditions.
2) Start a fire in the stove as you normally would.
From a Warm or Hot Stove:
1) After initial ignition from a cold stove, a temperature sensor installed in the collar will automatically
turn off power to the collar itself when the temperature is high enough to maintain draw. The
temperature sensor will also turn power back on to the collar as the fire dies down and the
temperature drops.
2) If you plan to let an existing fire die down and leave the stove cold for any period of time, unplug
the collar. To restart, follow the instructions listed above under From a Cold Stove.
If the temperature sensor needs replacement, contact the dealer for service. DO NOT attempt to
replace the collar or temperature sensor without first unplugging the unit.

door is shut while creating draw.
This collar plugs into a standard three-pronged outlet and is powered by 110-120 VAC at
approximately 500 Watts. If a longer cord is required, insure the cord is minimum 16AWG and
rated for at least 1875 Watts. The cord that comes with this product is manufactured with high
temperature materials and may lay directly on the collar itself or the heating appliance. A remote
control outlet or timer may be used with the draw collar.

Warranty
WARRANTY / RETURNED MATERIAL POLICY LIMITED PARTS WARRANTY Hearthstone QHHP, Inc.
warrants the components of its products for one(1) year from date of purchase from Hearthstone or an
authorized retailer. This warranty covers defects in material and workmanship. This warranty does not
cover normal maintenance, transportation or installation charges for replacement parts or any other
service calls or repairs. Products that are tampered with, damaged or defective due to malfunctioning
appliances are not covered under this warranty. This warranty does not cover the complete unit if it is
operative, except for the defective part.
WARRANTY CLAIM PROCEDURE Hearthstone QHHP, Inc. will issue credit or provide a free part to
replace one that becomes defective during the one(1) year warranty period. All receipts should include
the date code of the unit to ensure that the defective component corresponds with the complete unit. This
will help prevent possible credit refusal. Please direct any contractor who wants to make a warranty claim
to follow these instructions:
1) Contact your nearest Hearthstone Dealer or the Hearthstone QHHP, Inc. Technical Service
Department toll free at 800-508-3344 for troubleshooting assistance.
2) After the faulty component is determined, return it Hearthstone at 31 Stafford Ave., Morrisville, VT
05661. Credit or replacement will only be issued to a customer after the defective part has been returned
prepaid to Hearthstone.
3) RETURNED MATERIAL AUTHORIZATION # If you wish to return defective or unused merchandise, a
return authorization # from Hearthstone QHHP, Inc. is required. To avoid a higher restock charge, refusal
of credit or delays in credit, an RMA # is necessary. All returns should have the RMA # clearly marked on
the outside of the package or delivery will be refused.
CREDIT OR REPLACEMENT REFUSAL - It is the installer’s or owner’s responsibility to call our toll free
customer service number for assistance. Hearthstone QHHP, Inc. will not replace or issue credit for a
complete unit that is repairable at the job site. Easily replaceable components include: thermal disc.
Complete units that test ok may be returned to the sender. Hearthstone QHHP, Inc. will not issue credit
for materials that have been damaged or tampered with. This damage may occur during installation, your
handling, shipment to you or upon return to us. All units should be inspected upon receipt for visible
damage on the outside of the carton. If it is determined that the units have been damaged during
shipment, the damage claim should promptly be taken up with the freight carrier. All returned materials
should be properly packaged and marked with an RMA # on the carton exterior for return to Hearthstone
QHHP, Inc. Materials that are refused credit or replacement will be held for 30 days from date of the
returned materials analysis report. If no response is received during that period, the materials will be
scrapped. HEARTHSTONE QHHP, INC. ONE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY –Hearthstone QHHP, Inc.
warrants to the original purchaser of this product that the product will be free from defects due to faulty
material or workmanship for a period of one(1) year from the date of original purchase or delivery to the
original purchaser, whichever is earlier. Remedies under this warranty are limited to repairing or
replacing, at our option, any product which shall, within the above stated warranty period, be returned to
Hearthstone QHHP, Inc. at the address listed below, postage prepaid. THERE ARE NO WARRANTIES
WHICH EXTEND BEYOND THE DESCRIPTION ON THE FACE HEREOF, AND HEARTHSTONE QHHP, INC.
EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM THE
USE OF THIS PRODUCT. THIS WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER EXPRESS WARRANTIES AND NO
AGENT IS AUTHORIZED TO ASSUME FOR US ANY LIABILITY ADDITIONAL TO THOSE SET FORTH IN THIS
LIMITED WARRANTY. IMPLIED WARRANTIES ARE LIMITED TO THE STATED DURATION OF THIS LIMITED
WARRANTY. Some states do not allow limitation on how long an implied warranty lasts, so that limitation
may not apply to you. In addition, some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or
consequential damages, so that above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. This warranty gives
you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which may vary from State to State. Send all
