Introduction
Thank you for choosing Hero, the full-service in-home medication management platform
that stores, dispenses, and manages medication schedules and fulfillment for you and your
loved ones. You should read this instruction manual in full before using the Hero platform as
it contains information on limitations of the Hero platform as well as important safety
information. !!
Hero and Your Health
The Hero platform brings simplicity to your health regimen through the seamless integration
of our pill dispenser , app, and fulfillment services, with the objective of improving your
adherence to your medications and supplements.
Underusing, overusing, or forgetting your medication can have severe consequences on your
health. Approximately 50 percent of Americans don’t take their medication as prescribed,
resulting in emergency room visits and medical procedures that might have been avoided.
The Hero app works alongside the Hero Pill Dispenser to provide you and your loved ones
with notifications when it is time to take your pills, as well as alerts if you skip or miss a
dose.!Additionally, Hero tracks your interactions with the Hero Pill Dispenser and app in order
to provide you with meaningful insights into a critical step in your medication adherence
activities.”.
Easy Setup and Use
!
We have designed Hero so that people of all ages (even your parents!) can set up and
operate it. All you have to do is plug the Hero Pill Dispenser in and its screen will guide you
through the rest. The Hero Pill Dispenser requires a Wi-Fi connection and can be set up using
an Android or iOS mobile device.!
About this Guide
This guide can be used in tandem with the on-screen setup, as well as a reference for the
everyday use of the Hero platform. This guide includes many important topics not included
in the on-screen setup, such as safety instructions, and guidance on cleaning and
troubleshooting.

7
Warnings and Intended Use
!PLEASE READ – IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION !
The Hero platform assists patients and their caregivers with medication management by
sorting and dispensing medicines and providing reminders to take and/or fill medicines,
whether or not they are loaded into the Hero Pill Dispenser. It is not a replacement for the
guidance of a healthcare professional, your attention to correct dosing, nor to replace an
attentive and qualified caregiver, should one be required by the medication recipient.
The Hero Pill Dispenser should not be used by a recipient of medication who is incapable of
verifying the accuracy of each dispensed dose (such as those suffering from dementia or
other cognitive or physical impairments) unless pill dispense accuracy is being verified, in
each instance, by qualified person(s) trusted by the medication recipient, i.e. a caregiver,
a healthcare aide, and/or a healthcare professional.
Even though the Hero Pill Dispenser is capable of successfully and accurately dispensing
most whole pills loaded into the device on most occasions, the Hero Pill dispenser should
not be used to dispense medicines that have high dosage sensitivity, that have a narrow
therapeutic window, that are used to treat acute conditions or that are used to treat life-
threatening events. Hero Health, Inc. cannot guarantee the accuracy of medication
dispenses from the Hero Pill Dispenser due to, among other things, the potential for human
error and/or mechanical and software limitations or failures.
The medication recipient (or a trusted qualified person) must always verify, that the types
of pills and number of pills dispensed by the Hero Pill Dispenser match the prescribed or
desired dosage before the medication recipient ingests the contents of the pill cup.
Be sure to keep track of pills inside the Hero Pill Dispenser by size, shape, color, imprint,
or form to help ensure that dispensed doses match prescribed doses. If you cannot
visually differentiate between the different types of pills you intend to store in the Hero Pill
Dispenser, do not add those medications to the device. Partial pills, liquid medications and
medications that require refrigeration cannot be stored in the Hero Pill Dispenser. Keep the
original prescriptions or pill bottles for your medications for reference and travel after
loading the appropriate medications into the Hero Pill Dispenser.
Due to the risk of cross-contamination of various medications loaded into the Hero Pill
Dispenser (including the risk of residual medication which can remain in the device after all
pills have been removed), the Hero Pill Dispenser is intended only to be used by a single
recipient of medication at one time, and must undergo factory refurbishment between
users.!If you can no longer be exposed to a medication that was once placed into the Hero
Pill Dispenser, contact customer service at 1-855-855-9962 for further assistance.!
If children or other individuals who may be harmed by gaining unsupervised access to the
medications are present, the Hero Pill Dispenser should be installed beyond their reach with
passcode protection enabled for all medication dispenses.!

8
The Hero Pill Dispenser is designed to function on a flat and level surface. If it is ever tilted
over, subject to motion or vibration or otherwise mishandled, you must open the door with
the Pill Access key and verify that the medications are in their proper cartridge before you
continue to use the device.
If the Hero Pill Dispenser or any associated mobile phones are out of audio range, or if the
WiFi connection is not functioning properly, the Hero platform notifications may not be
delivered or occur as expected.
If the Hero Pill Dispenser is used in a manner not specified in the operating instructions, then
the protection provided by the Hero platform’s security features may be impaired and
incorrect dosing may occur.
PRECAUTIONS:
Storage and Access
● Hero should be kept away from humidity and moisture and operated consistently with
the technical specifications contained in these instructions. Do not store in a
bathroom.
● Hero provides a Pill Access key to enable manual access to medications stored within
the Hero Pill Dispenser. Make sure to also keep a small amount of medication of each
type stored outside of the Hero Pill Dispenser so that it can be accessed immediately
in the event of unexpected failure of the Hero platform.
Cartridge
● When inserting a cartridge, make sure to push the bottom tab all the way in, until you
hear a click sound. This will ensure the cartridge is securely and properly installed.
● Be sure not to put any downward pressure on the cartridge door when reaching in to
retrieve a medication cartridge.
● Overfilling a cartridge can cause the Hero Pill Dispenser to not properly dispense
medication. Do not load pills above the “MAX” fill line shown on the cartridge.
● When removing a cartridge and its medication, do not put new medication in that
cartridge or any other cartridge at that time. New medication must be added by
following the Adding a New Medication instructions.
● Do not put any cartridges or the cup in a dishwasher. Wash with warm water and non-
abrasive soap, and completely rinse and dry before putting back into the Hero Pill
Dispenser.
Transporting the Hero Pill Dispenser
● All medication must be removed before transporting the Hero Pill Dispenser. Do not
tip or tilt the Hero Pill Dispenser with pills on-board as this may lead to mixing of pills

9
or failure of the device. Make sure to properly insert the travel bar before
transporting the Hero Pill Dispenser.
● Do not force the travel bar into its designated slot at the back of the Hero Pill
Dispenser. If you feel some resistance inserting the travel bar, rotate it until it slides in
farther. The compartment cover will not close unless the travel bar is properly inserted.
Resetting the Hero Platform
● Resetting your Hero will cause it to lose all data associated with your account. After
resetting, you will have to manually empty any medication stored inside, reconnect to
Wi-Fi, and re-enter your regimens into your account.
