1.2 Safety
1.2.1 Applied symbols
During normal heat pump system design work or unit installaon, greater aenon must be paid
in certain situaons requiring parcular care in order to avoid injuries an damage to the unit, the
installaon or the building or property.
Situaons that jeopardise the safety of those in the surrounding area or that put the unit itself a
risk will be clearly indicated in this manual.
To indicate these situaons, a series of special symbols will be used to clearly idenfy these
situaons.
Pay close aenon to these symbols and to the messages following them, as your safety and that
of others depends on it.

• The text following this symbol contains informaon and instrucons relang directly to your
safety and physical well-being.
• Not taking these instrucons into account could lead to serious, very serious or even fatal
injuries to you and others in the proximies of the unit.
In the text following the danger symbol you can also nd informaon on safe procedures during

NOTE

1.2.2 Addional informaon about safety
!DANGER
• Do not pour water over the unit electrical parts. If the electrical components are in contact
with water a seri ous electrical shock will take place.
• Do not open the service cover or access inside the YUTAKI CASCADE CONTROLLER without
disconnecng the main power supply.
• In case of re Turn OFF the main switch, put out the re at once and contact your service
contractor.
!CAUTION
• Do not use any sprays such as inseccide, lacquer, hair spray or other ammable gases within
approximately one meter from the system.
• If installaon circuit breaker or the unit fuse is oen acvated, stop the system and contact your
service contractor.
• Do not make service or inspecons tasks by yourself. This work must be performed by a qualied
service person.
• This appliance must be used only by adult and capable people, having received the technical
informaon or instrucons to handle this appliance properly and safely.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

1.3 Important noce
• PLEASE READ THE MANUAL CAREFULLY BEFORE STARTING TO WORK ON THE INSTALLATION
OF THE YUTAKI CASCADE CONTROLLER. Failure to observe the instrucons for installaon,
use and operaon described in this documentaon may result in operang failure including
potenally serious faults, or even the destrucon of the air to water heat pump system.
• YUTAKI Commissioning, Servicing and Main safety devices are explained in its own technical
documentaon.
• Verify, in accordance with the manuals which appear in the unit, that all the informaon
required for the correct installaon of the system is included. If this is not the case, contact your
distributor.
• Hitachi pursues a policy of connuous improvement in product design and performance. The
right is therefore reserved to vary specicaons without noce.
• Hitachi cannot ancipate every possible circumstance that might involve a potenal hazard.
• No part of this manual may be reproduced without wrien permission.
• If you have any quesons, contact your service contractor of Hitachi.
• Signal words (NOTE, DANGER and CAUTION) are used to idenfy levels of hazard seriousness.

GENERAL INFORMATION
1.5 Introducon
The YUTAKI CASCADE CONTROLLER is designed as an extension of the hydraulic control of YUTAKI
range to establish a larger and ecient heang or cooling system.
When YUTAKI CASCADE CONTROLLER funcon is acve, system separate water generaon (hot or
cold) from water distribuon and consumpon.
NOTE
Water generaon and water distribuon and consumpon are generic names, specic input and
output distribuon is explained below.
Water generaon is performed on YUTAKI Sub units, and water distribuon and consumpon is
done on Main YUTAKI CASCADE CONTROLLER unit.
YUTAKI CASCADE CONTROLLER
• is a central control device capable to control Sub units that produce hot or cool water.

3.1 Installaon
!CAUTION
• Transport the products as close as possible to the place to be installed before unpacking.
• Do not put any material on the product.
!DANGER
• Install the device with enough clearance and space around it for operaon and maintenance.
Install the YUTAKI CASCADE CONTROLLER where good venlaon is available
• Do not install the YUTAKI CASCADE CONTROLLER where there is a high level of oil mist, salty
air or sulphurous atmosphere.
• Install the unit as far as praccal (being at least 3 meters) from electromagnec wave
radiator (such as medical equipment).
• For cleaning, use noninammable and nontoxic cleaning liquid. Use of inammable agent
should cause explosion or re.
• Work with sucient venlaon. Working in an enclosed space should cause oxygen
deciency. Toxic gas should be produced when cleaning agent is heated to high temperature
by, e.g., being exposed to re.
• Cleaning liquid shall be collected aer cleaning.
• Pay aenon not to clamp cables when aaching the service cover to avoid electric shock or
re.
!CAUTION
• Install the device in the shade or not exposed to direct sunshine or direct radiaon from high
temperature heat source.
• The device installaon and connecons must be performed by qualied professionals and
following the local direcves.
• Check to ensure that the eld supplied electrical components (mains power switches, circuit
breakers, wires, connectors and wire terminals) have been properly selected according to the
electrical data indicated on this document and they comply with naonal and local codes. If it is
necessary, contact with your local authority in regards to standards, rules, regulaons, etc.

3.2 Fix the unit to the wall
The YUTAKI CASCADE CONTROLLER is a simple-to-install device. To make this operaon even
simpler, the YUTAKI CASCADE CONTROLLER disposes of 4 key slots to ease the operaon of xing
to a wall.

INSTALLATION
3.2.2 Notes for installaon
The YUTAKI CASCADE CONTROLLER is designed in a way that wiring must be route through the
boom side of the unit. Rubber bushing have been placed for such purpose. Aer roung the
cables through the rubber bushing, the cables should be placed in a simple manner inside the
Electrical box, so the idencaon should be easy and at rst sight. Addionally, cables should be
xed to the plasc cord located inside the Electrical box, before the TB1.
