Hive Camera
We’re ready to set up your account for you. It’s really simple.
Just visit hivehome.com/register and enter a few details.
Once you’ve done this, we’ll send you an email to activate your
account, just follow the instructions and you’re ready to go.
As soon as we’ve activated your account, we’ll send you an
email confirming your login details. You’ll need your account
details to install and use Hive products.
If you already have an account with us, of course, you can
skip this part.

This guide tells you everything you
need to know to use your Hive Camera
1Install your Hive Camera
You must do this using the Hive Camera app.
• Log into your Hive Camera app and tap ‘Add camera’ and follow
the on-screen instructions to install.
2Choose a location
Now you need to find a place that has a good view of the area you
want to monitor as long as it’s near enough to your broadband router
to stay connected.
You can either mount your camera or you can place on a table or
shelf. Your camera can detect motion up to 10m away and has a
130° wide angle field of view.
3Fix it in place (only if mounting):
When mounting the camera:
• Remove the rubber packing attached to the camera stand and
use the stand to mark out where the screws will need to go on the
surface where you are mounting it.
• Drill holes where you have marked and insert the rawl plugs from
the box into the holes.
Your Hive Camera will keep an eye on your home for you.
You can watch a live stream and get notifications
plus a video recording when motion
or sound is detected when
used with an SD card
(not included).
• Take the screws from the box and screw in the base of the
camera stand. Ensure the power cable is disconnected for this.
• Plug the power cable back in.
• Check your live stream in the app to see if your camera’s view
is still the right way up. If you need to, you can flip the view in
the app.
4Using an SD card
Using an SD card with your camera lets you get a video recording
when motion or sound is detected. To use an SD card:
• Disconnect the camera’s power cable and insert an SD card into
the slot on the right-hand side of the camera. The SD card can
be up to 128GB in size.
• Push the SD card all the way in to the slot until it clicks gently
into place.
• Plug the power cable back in. You can manage the SD card in
the app.
Remember: For your Hive Camera to work correctly your camera
must be kept plugged in and switched on.
Usage
Your Hive Camera is designed for indoor use only.
Maintenance
Disconnect your Hive Camera before cleaning and keep it away
from water and other liquids at all times. The camera does not
contain any serviceable parts so do not attempt to open it.
Instructions & Warranty
The manufacturer is not responsible for any loss or radio/TV
interference caused by unauthorised modification of the product.
Such modification will void the warranty of the product as well as the
user’s right of use.
WARNING
• This product must be assembled and installed by an adult.
• Before using, read all instructions and warnings in this manual
and printed on this product.
• Keep this product and its power cable out of children’s reach.
• Never use this product near a bathtub, sink, washing machine
or in a wet basement.
• This product is designed for indoor use.
• This product is not designed for medical monitoring, and requires
adult supervision to use.
• To avoid overheating, do not expose this product to direct sunlight;
do not install or use near heat sources such as heaters, radiators,
cooking devices (e.g. electric stove or oven) or other electrical
devices (e.g. audio amplifier, TV, etc.).
• Keep this product ventilated during use. Avoid pillars or furniture
that may block ventilation.
• Only use the power adaptor provided. The power adaptor must be
used with a regular household electric supply.
• Avoid sharp, pointed objects around the adaptor’s cable.
• Only authorised Centrica Connected Home service personnel may
service this product.
• This product is not designed to replace personal supervision
of children.
• This product and its antenna must not be used in conjunction with
any other antenna or transmitting device.
• A minimum distance of 20 cm must be maintained between the
antenna and any person’s body.
• Please note that the content of a MicroSD card used for other
purposes may be deleted when it is inserted in this product.
To avoid environmental and health problems due to hazardous substances in
electrical and electronic goods, appliances marked with a crossed out wheeled
bin should not be placed into your household rubbish bin. Instead, when they
are unable to be re-used, they should be recycled. Your local authority will
be able to advise you on the location of the nearest recycling centre that is
authorised to accept this type of waste. Please recycle responsibly.
