2.1 Preface
ThankyouforselectingtheTIMOtherapychair.Wehavedesignedthishigh-qualityproducttomakeyourlifesaferand
easier,andwe’veincludedthismanualtohelpyouuseandcareforit.Pleasereadthefollowinginstructionstomakesure
youusethisproductasrecommended.Ifyouhaveanyfurtherquestions,orifyouhaveanyproblems,pleasecontactyour
healthcareprovider.WehopethatTIMOmeetsyourexpectations.
Wereservetechnicalmodicationsregardingthespeciedmodelinthismanual.Beforeusingthewheelchairthersttime,
thismanualhastobereadandunderstoodbypatientandsupportpersonnelinodertoensureasafehandlingwiththe
therapychair.
2.2Application
TheTIMO therapychairforchildrenisintendedforuseathome,kindergartenandschool.
Itserveschildrenandadolescentswithadecitintheareaofsittingpositioningandsupportsanuprightandactive
sittingposture.Thisisideallysupportedbyindividualadjustmentoptionsandtheadditionofvariousaccessories.
Assistancemayberequireddueto:
-Paralysis(paraplegia/tetraplegiaortetraparesis)
-Lossoflimbs(dysmelia/lowerlimbamputation)
-Infantile/spasticcerebralpalsy-SpinaBida-Muscleandnervedisorders

TheTIMOtherapychairisabletobeusedforfurtherservice.Forfurtherservicetheproducthastobecleanedand
sanitisedeciently.Afterwardstheproducthastobecheckedconcerningcondition,wearoutanddamagebyan
authorisedtechnician.Alldamagedandinapropptiatepartsneedtobechanged.Pleaseseealsotheservicemanual

Theproductshouldonlybeusedonsolidlevelground.
Useyourtherapychairasintendedbythemanufacturer.Forinstance,donotdrive
intoobstacles(includingsteps,curbs)withoutbraking.Donot„jump”thechairdown
fromhighersurfaces.
Payincreasedattentionwhendrivingoninclinesanddeclines.
Payparticularattentiontothechildfallingout,thetherapychairtippingoverandthe
therapychairrollingaway.
Onlyliftthetherapychairbyrmlyweldedorscrewedcomponentsandwithouta
child.
Thetherapychairshouldonlybeplacedonhorizontal,levelsurfaces.Ifitis
unavoidabletoparkitonanincline,pleaseensurethattheseatisbroughtintoan
uprightposition.Oninclines,theremaybeariskoftippingbackwardsinthelying
position.
Beforeleavingthetherapychairandbeforegettingintoandoutofit,alwayslockthe
wheellocks.
Makesurethatyourchilddoesnotleantoofaroutofthetherapychairwhengrabbing
objects(whichareinfront,tothesideorbehindthetherapychair),asthereisarisk
oftippingoverorrollingoverduetotheshiftinthecenterofgravity.
Pleasekeeppackagingmaterialawayfromchildren.Plasticpackagingpresentsthe
dangerofsuocation
HOGGIpointsout,thatanyusebesidethetypicalusecanbedangerous.The
wheelchairisnotsuitableforjogging,running,skatingorsimilaractivities.Inaddition,
thechairmaycorrodemorequicklywhenusedinswimmingpools,thechairmay
corrodemorequickly.Swivellingfrontwheelstendtowobbleathigherspeed,which
cancauseasuddenstopandtipoverofthetherapychair.
Pleasepushthethetherapychairatnormalwalkingspeedonly.Underno
circumstancesisitpermissibletoletgoofthetherapychairorpushitawayfromyou
whilepushingit.
Strapinyourchildatalltimes,whenitisinthetherapychair.

Neverleaveyourchildunattendedinthewheelchairevenwhentheyarestrappedin
andthebrakesengaged.
Staticstabilityis>10,5°inclination.Attachingheavybagsorotherweighttothepush
handlescanadverselyaectstability.
Whenadjustingthebackrestangle,theseatangleandthekneeanglewiththechild
intheseatunit,payparticularattentiontotheriskoftrappingthechildbyextending
armsorlegsintomovingparts.
ThemaximumloadfortheTIMO baseunitis60kg.
Accessoriesandadd-onsreducethemaximumloadproportionately.
Caution!Excessstrapendsonaccessoriesmaybetrappedinthetiltmechanismand
canavoidtheengagementofthelockingpins.Insuchacasetheseatcouldthen
adjusttheseatangleduringuse.Shortenexcessstrapendsonaccessoriessothat
theycannotbetrapped.Checkbypullingtheseatsharplythatthelockingpinsare
completelyengaged.
Don`tusethefootresttogetinoroutofthetherapychair!
Thetherapychairisapprovedforusebyonechildonly.
Disposalofwaste:Thepackagingmaterialasfarasmetal,aluminiumandplastic
partscanberecycled.Therecyclingmustbeoperatedaccordingtothenationaland
legalterms.
Therapytrayloadedwithamaximumof5kg.

Thetherapychairshouldalwaysbelockedbybrakingthe4castorstopreventitfrom
rollingawayunintentionally.
OnlyuseaccessoriesandsparepartsthathavebeenapprovedbyHOGGI.
Otherwiseyouendangerthesafetyofthechild.
Adjustmentsandsettingsontheproductoraccessoriesmayonlybemade
bypersonswhohavereceivedappropriateinstructionfromamedicalproduct
consultant.
Becarefulincaseofextremetemperatures.Thewheelchaircanheatupsignicantly
wheninthesunorinthesauna.Inextremecold,thereisariskofhypothermia.
Forpersonswithinsensitiveskin(iepersonswhocannotperceiveatemperature
increase)and/orwithskindamage,caremustbetakenthatmetalpartsdonot
reachtoohighatemperature.Inthesecases,itisimperativetowearappropriate
garmentstoprotecttheskin.
WheneveryouchangeanysettingsontheTIMOmakesurethatyourmlytighten
anyscrewsthathavebeenloosened.

packagingcarefully

• Instructionsandlistoftoolsrequired
Tounfoldpleaseproceedasfollows:
• Pulltheloopasshownuntilbothlockingboltsofthebackangle
adjustmentarereleased.
• Thebasebackcanthenbemovedtothedesiredbackangleposition.
• Makesurethatbothlockingboltsengageaudibly.
IfyourTIMOisequippedwiththeremovable
attachmentback,pleaseproceedasfollows:
• Inserttheguidesleeveintothecouplingpieceas

screwconnectionsintheslottedholes).
• Thisallowsyoutochangetheanchorpointofthefootrestand
thusalsothefootrestangle.Thefootrestanglecanbeadjusted
fromapprox.80°to100°
5.11 Armrests
•Thearmrestscanbeindividuallyadjustedinheight,depth,widthand
angle.

• Tightenthescrewconnectionagain,insertthearmrestbackintothe
bracketandtightentheextenderleverrmly.

• Removebotharmrestsfromtheholders.
• Loosenandremovebothmarkedscrews.
• Removethemarkedattachmentpartsandremovethearmrest
supportupwards.

ovaltube.

• Makesurethatthestraightsurfacesoftheaxisarealignedexactly
verticallysothattheyslidethroughtheentiretube.
• Securetheoppositesidewiththelensangescrewincombination
withthespringwasher.
•Inaddition,thearmrestcanalsobescrewedintwopositions.
•Insertbothbearingwashersinthelowerholeposition.Makesurethat
thewasherwiththe"ats"isinsertedonthecorrespondingsideand
thattheonthecorrespondingsideandthewasherwithout"ats"on
theoppositeside.
•Finally,inserttheclampingleverintothescrewpositionshown
(without"ats")andtightenitrmly.
Afteralladjustmentwork,retightenthepreviouslyloosened
tightenthescrewconnectionsagain.
