Product description
Sand spreading bucket SB 1.0 is adapted for three-point
linkage. SB 1,0 (figure 5) can be used for spreading:
• sand with a diameter of 0-8mm
• crushed rock with a diameter of 2-8mm
• road salt
The sand spreading bucket is primarily intended for road
gritting in winter.
Standard model
The bucket is equipped with a rotating discharge roller,
powered by a hydraulic motor. The speed of the
discharge roller is regulated by a flow valve.
On the standard model, the valve is adjusted using a hand
wheel located on the hydraulic block inside the sliding
hatch cover on the left side of the bucket (see figure 3).
The position of the discharge opening is fixed and should
only be adjusted gradually as the rubber becomes worn.
Extra equipment
Mixer
As extra equipment, the sand spreading bucket can be
equipped with a mixer, which has a rocking motion that
minimises the risk of personal injury. The mixer crushes
any lumps and prevents blockages and pockets.
Speed cabling
The bucket can also be equipped with speed cabling (see
figure 4), located inside the operator’s cab. Control is via
an electric valve located on the hydraulic block.

Transport and storage
A full bucket should be transported in a horizontal
position so that the opening is facing upward.
Whentransportingabucketnotconnectedtoacarrier,the
bucket must always be lifted using the eye on the top side
(see figure 6).
In the event of storage and prolonged periods of
inactivity, the bucket must be cleaned and lubricated as
per instructions under “Service and maintenance” on
page 16.
Do not leave material in the bucket for prolonged
periods or if there is a risk of freezing.

Connection to carrier
Before connecting, check that the carrier is compatible
with the sand spreading bucket. See “Product date” on
page 9.
A hydraulic top link is required to connect the bucket to
the carrier.
1. 1.Connect the sand spreading bucket to the tractor's
three-point linkage . NB! The connection device can
be used in various positions to adapt the linkage to the
cylinder so that it is suitable for the carrier. See figure
8.
2. Connect the quick couplings on the drive hoses to the
third function hydraulic outlet.
3. Start the sand spreading bucket's discharge roller by
moving the lever for the third hydraulic function to its
locked position.
4. Check that the discharge roller is rotating in the right
direction (see figure 9). If the roller is rotating in the
wrong direction in the locked position, change the
locked position or loosen the lever lock and change
the hose couplings for the third hydraulic function..
Operating instructions
Operator settings
In order to achieve good spreading, the sand spreading
bucket'sdischarge opening should be around0.5m above
the ground.
Always check that the bucket is secured correctly.
Never stick your hands or feet into the bucket
when it is connected to a carrier.
Hydraulic jets at high pressure can pierce skin and
cause serious physical injury. If a hydraulic jet
pierces your skin, seek immediate medical
attention.
Hydraulic oil can cause allergic reactions. If you
get hydraulic oil on your skin, wash the area
immediately to remove all traces of the oil.

Material containing stones larger than 10 mm in diameter
should be avoided, as these can damage the spreader.
Avoid frozen or damp sand as well.
If the bucket contains frozen material, empty it out on the
ground and break it up using the bottom of the bucket.
Never leave material in the bucket if there is a risk of
freezing.

Calibration
If the sand spreading bucket is supplied with speed ca-
blingit has been calibrated. If you order speedcabling for
new installation, the bucket should be calibrated before
use.
Under the cover for the cabling valve connection is the
box for the speed controls. There are four screws on this,
se figure 12. Box location, see figure 11 on page 14.
1. Connect the speed cabling to the valve and power
supply. When the power is on, the LED lights up,
point 5 in figure 12.
2. Screw no. 2 regulates the max speed. Normal posi-
tion: max when the adjustment wheel is set to 100. To
raise the max speed, turn clockwise.
3. Screw no. 3 regulates the start position of the roller.
Normally the start position is around 25. Normal po-
sition: end position anticlockwise.
4. Screws no. 1 and 4 are never normally touched. If you
wish to perform further adjustments, please contact

Service and maintenance
After use:
• empty and clean the bucket if there is a risk of
freezing
• if sand mixed with salt has been used, empty the
bucket, rinse it out with water and dry indoors.
After washing with a high-pressure washer, the bucket
must be lubricated.
Every 20 operating hours
• Bucket without mixer:
Lubricate the bucket via the lubrication point (see
figure 14, lubricating nipple is under the protective
cover, see also “Adjusting roller cleaning brushes” on
page 18).
Bucket with mixer (extra equipment):
Lubricate the bucket via the five lubrication points
(see figure 15 and figure 16, the lubricating nipples
are under the protective covers, see also “Adjusting
roller cleaning brushes” on page 18).
A suitable lubricating grease in both cases is Shell
Alvania EP Grease II or similar.
• Inspect all hydraulic lines and hydraulic couplings,
and ensure that there are no leaks.
Always disconnect the bucket from the carrier
before carrying out maintenance.
Oncerepairs or maintenancehavebeen completed,
make sure that no tools or other objects have been
left inside the cover and that the transmission’s
protective cover is correctly fitted.
Hydraulic jets at high pressure can pierce skin and
cause serious physical injury. If a hydraulic jet
pierces your skin, seek immediate medical
attention.

The following must also be checked during each service.
• Wear and contact surface of rubber deflector (see
figure 17). The rubber must be adjusted with 2 to 4
mm play against the roller tube. It is essential for the
gap to be the same along the entire roller length,
otherwise the discharge volume will vary along the
roller. Adjust or replace as necessary (see “Adjusting/
replacing rubber deflector” on page 18).
• The roller’s end seals (see figure 18, there is a seal at
each end of the roller): check wear and contact
surface. The rubber must be adjusted against the
roller. Adjust or replace as necessary (see “Adjusting/
replacing end seal” on page 18).
• Wear and contact surface of the roller cleaning brush
(see figure 19). The brush must only touch the roller
with the brush end. Adjust as necessary (see
“Adjusting roller cleaning brushes” on page 18).
• There must be no loose screw joints.
