parties,orcausedamagetothedeviceorotherequipmentdu-
ring use. Use the device only in perfect condition, and intended,
safetyandtheriskofdanger,incompliancewiththeinstruction
manual! Do immediately eliminate particular disorders, which

is carried out by an electronics specialist! Since this

lation side!
4 Notes on cleaning and maintenance
Thedeviceismostlymaintenance-free.Bypoorcoinacceptan-
ce,thecoinrunwayoftheelectronicmultiplecointestercanbe
cleanedwithadampclothorbrushto remove any dustor de-
posits. The metal casing can be cleaned with a damp cloth or
a cleaning agent which can be dissolved in water. Do not use
underanycircumstances, thinners, petrol,acetoneorscouring
cleaning agents.
2 Warranty
Onthefunctionofthedeviceisgrantedforaperiodof12months.
Thewarrantyislimitedsolelytotechnicaldefectsoftheunit,it
can´tbeacceptedfurtherclaims.Furtherapplyourgeneralterms
and conditions, stand of June 2011, for products and services of
theelectricalindustry(ZVEI)-alsoseewebsite:www.holtkamp.
de.
Anyliabilityextinguishedbythemanipulationofthedevice.
Doprovideforthesafeandenvironmentallyfriendlydisposalof
plasticpartsandelectronicreplacementparts!
Themanufacturerisnotliablefordamagecausedbyimproper
use.Theuserbears therisk.Intendeduse alsoincludescom-
pliancewiththeoperatinginstructionsandcompliancewiththe
inspectionandmaintenanceconditions.
4.1 Change battery
The MAXI has a battery type CR 2032 for the storage of stati-
stics, which should be changed every 2 years.
Ifthisdoesnothappen,thelossofthestatisticsmustbeexpec-
ted.
Method:
The battery must only be replaced by an electrician!
Switcho󰀨theelectricalvoltageattheMAXI. Removethefront
panel. Solder the old battery and replace it with a new battery.
Make sure that the new battery is properly soldered and that no
are produced solder joints. It is important to switch the device
on again after replacing the battery. If this does not, the battery
emptieswithinafewdays!
IftheDIPpointsash,calluptheaccountingstatisticsmenuat
once to delete this error.



restoretheelectricalplug-and-socketconnectiontothefront
 plate.Fittingthefrontplateandboltittogether.Insertthe
 coinbox,ttingthecoinremoveandboltwiththelock.
8 Installation
8.1 Installation notes
Throughhighqualitymicro-electronicsisthedeviceabletoreach
a high standard of reliability in the daily use. Only if the installati-
on has been professionally carried out can the device be guaran-
teed. Please note during the installation, ...
● Onlyauthorizedandqualiedelectricianscarryoutthein-
 stallationcomplyingwiththevalidVDE–regulations.
● Thattheoorcoveringisanti-staticandconductorcapable,
 to ensure a minimum of static change and so redu-
cing the danger to the electronics.
● Amalfunctionorbreakdownofthedevicecanbecaused
by the switching sparks of the relay contacts. To reduce these
 sparksappropriatesuppressioncombinationsmustbein-
 cludedparalleltotheprotectioncontacts.RCcombinations
 forsparksreducingareonlya󰀨ectivebydirectparallelswit-
ching of the relay contacts.
●That the screened control and data cable are laid separa-
 telyfrommainscables.
● Thatthefeedlineareused,whichisfromabigcrosssec-
tiontosupplyboththeMAXIandtheattachedelectricconsu-
 mer.Itshouldbeusedancrosssectionfrom1,5mm²atthe
 minimum.
8.2 Mounting notes
● Thisdevicemayonlybemountedonasuitablesurface.
● Thedevicemustbesu󰀩cientlysecured,takeintoconsi-
derationtheweightoftheinsertedcoins.Thereare3holesin
 thebackofthecasingtoaccomplishthemountingprocess.
Screws and dowels are included by delivery.
● The device must be mounted horizontally and verti-
 callytoguaranteeaawlessfunctionofthecoinreceiver.
 Thatmeanstheangleofthedevicecanonlybemaximum
2 º, sloping forward or backward, as well as to the right or
the left.
● Theinputcablesarexedbythreedrilledholesintherear
 wallorbythreebigdrilledholesinthecasingbottom.There
 arettingswithmetricthread(M20)necessary,ifthedevice
 cablingaremadethroughthedevicebottom.Theseare
not include by delivery.
● Choosethecablecross-sectionofthefeedlinebigenough!
Attend thereby the connected electrical load. At-
tend to the VDE guidelines.
8.3 Monting instructions
● TheMAXIisconformwiththetypeofprotectionIP20and
 maybeappliedindryroomsonly.
● Theelectriccurrentsupplymustbeswitchedo󰀨bythrowof
the correspondent disconnecting switch, fuse or through
 activatingoftheFIprotectiveswitch.
● Openthelockofthecoinremoveandgetito󰀨.
● Unxthetwoscrewsofthefrontplateandlifto󰀨sofar,that
the electrical plug-and-socket connection can be deduc-
 ted.Deductedtheplug-and-socketconnectionandremove
 thefrontplatecompletely.
●The wall plate horizontal and vertically align with the help
of a level.
The tilt angle can only be 2° now mark the drilled holes.


8.4 Electrical connection
The electrical connection can only be carried out by
 authorizedandqualiedpersonnel!
The electrical connection has to be carried out by the local VDE
regulations.Withapermanentconnection,anallpolemainsse-
paratorwithatleast3mmcontactgapmustbeused.
Beforestartingtheelectricthecorrespondingcircuitmustbedis-
connected. Shut down the mains input by activating the sepa-
rator switch, remove the fuse or release the main safety fuse.
Mainsandlowvoltagecablemustbespacedapart.Lowvoltage
cables should be generally spaced as screened cables.

8.5 Operatingthersttime
IftheMAXIisinstalledcompletely,youcantakeintooperationby
switching on the circuit.
As soon as the circuit is activated, appears in the display an
information about the operation mode of you MAXI and about
the used software. After that appears in the display a zero. The
MAXIisnowreadyforoperationandcannowbeprogrammedas
youlike.Toensure,thattheprogramminghasbeencorrect,you
shouldmakeadetailedtestrun.
After this test run all counters should be deleted to receive a
correct account.

cally made according to the regulations above with re-
commended shutdown.

ans,thatanemergencystoptimeriscontrolledbyathirdrelay
onthePCB.Itguaranteestheswitchingo󰀨ofthesunbed,ifthe
mainrelayisnotswitchingo󰀨once,aftertheexpiredtime.
8.6 The function run
-Insertcoins,tillthecompletepriceispaid.Theamount,which
mustbepaid,appearsinthedisplaybackwardsrunning.
-Thepre-runtimeruns.Inthedisplayappearsthemaintime.
-Assoonasthepre-runtimeisrunoutortheremotestarthas
beenactivated,themaintimebegins.Thisisshownwithaas-
hing point in the display.
-Ifthemaintimehasrun,therun-outtimebegins(coolingdown
phase). In the display appears a bar.
-Afterendoftherun-outtimetheMAXIisfreeforthenextpay-
ment.Inthedisplayappears:

11.1 Method of programming
1. Takeo󰀨thecoinremove.
2. Push in the general card in the card slot with the buttons
upwards.
3. Press PROG buttonatonce.Youarenowintheprogram-
 mingmode(Time/Pricemenu).
4. LeavethroughtheprogrammingpositionswithNEXTbut-
ton (press the button longer for backwards)
5. Atrstthepositionnumberwillbeshownforashorttime,
 thanthevalue,whichhastobeprogrammed.

Main time
The main time 1 is the operating time of connected device. It
canbe adjusted inminutesstepsto max. 9hours59minutes,
beneath10minutesinsecondsteps(only,ifthiswasactivatedin
theassembly-congurationmenu).DisplayformatseeA2(Main
timerepresentation:hoursorminutes).
11.2 Time/price menu
Intheprogrammingmodetheprogrammingpositionswillappear
inthedisplaythroughnumberandlettercombinations.

Pre-run time
Thepre-runtimeisthedelaytimefrompaymenttostartofthe
connecteddevice.Themaximumis9minutes59seconds,ad-
justableinsecondsteps.Theexpirationofthepre-runtimecan
benishedwithactivationoftheremotestart.

issetonlowerthen“0”.Inthiscasetheleadtimewasendedby
pressingtheremotestartandthemain-timestartsimmediately.
In the second case the lead time is set on = “0”. In this case
beginsthemain-time,rst,afteractivatingtheremotestart.This
canbecalledasaforcedremotestart.Ifthefullpricewaspaid,
itisnotpossibletopayadditionalmaintimeforsecurityreasons,
afternishpre-runtime(intanningsector).Shouldaconnected
devicebeoperatedwithoutdelayandactivatingtheremotestart,
thejumperFSmustbeactivatedon“0”.
The remote start has to be carried out, basically, poten-
tial free to the external tester on the sun bed.
Maximum time
Themaximumtimeisthelimitofthemaintime.Itisadjustable
inminutestepstomax.9hours59minutes,beneath10minutes
insecondsteps(only,ifinthecongurationmenuthepoint"SE"
wasactivatedwith"1").
The max. allowed tanning time, which the producer of
sun beds has declared, must be adjusted in the maxi-
mum time. Attention! Danger of burning!
If it is adjusted "0" minutes, this function is deactivated
and it can be paid any main time.
Price setting
Thepriceo󰀨ersthepossibilitytoprogramtheamount,payable
foreachmaintime.Itisadjustablefrom0,1to99,9in0,1-steps.
Thefullpricemustbepaidtobuyeachmaintime.Unless,the
shorttimesaleisactivated(seeshorttimesale).
Service interval
The service interval 1 o󰀨ers the possibility to note operating
hours. When the service hours counter reaches the operating
hours,thedisplayisashingandtheservicedateappears.The
serviceintervalisadjustabletomax.999hoursinsecondsteps.
If it is adjusted "0" hours, this function is deactivated.
 Theashingcanbestoppedbydeletingoftheservice
hour counter reading.
Rest price indication
The rest price indication o󰀨ers the possibility, to show in the
displaytheremainderpricethatneedstobepaidafterinsertof
minimumonecoin.Thedisplayshows"0",theremainderprice
indication is deactivated.
Thedisplayshows"1",theremainderpriceindicationisactiva-
ted.
After full payment appears in the display the purchased main
time.


The main time presentation o󰀨ers the possibility, to show the
maintimeinminutesorinhoursandminutes.

sale, must be paid the full price to get the adjusted main
time. The same is true for additional purchase from time.
If the main time will be paid once, it must be paid the full
priceforanytime.

takes place with the NEXT button, the changing of the adjust-

Channel value
The adjustment of the channel values o󰀨ers the possibility, to
determinethevalueoftheinsertedcoinfortheMAXIindividual.
For security reasons the modication of the facto-
ry-made adjusted channel values is only possible, if the
jumper "LöFrei" will be stucked on the PCB.
The following positions E2-E6 appears only by a MAXI with
 electronicmulticointester(EMP).
