Introduction
This document provides instructions for configuring the HD3US(X) minidome camera
settings. These instructions are intended for system installers, administrators, and
operators. For information about installing the camera, refer to the HD3US(X) Ultra WDR
Indoor Minidome Camera Quick Installation Guide (800-13598).
Programming the Camera
The camera is programmed using the on-screen display (OSD) menus. You can connect a
portable monitor during installation using the supplied adapter cable.
To show the OSD main menu, press the OSD
controller joystick located on the camera
control board.
Move the joystick up or down to navigate
through the menu options. Move the joystick
right to change a menu setting.
When a menu option or setting is followed by
two dots (..), press the joystick to access the
next screen. To go back to the main menu,
select RETURN.., and then press the joystick.

Exposure Menu
EXPOSURE LENS
Select DC or MANUAL. Press the OSD controller joystick to set the lens FOCUS METER.
Set the FOCUS METER to the maximum value for a clear image.
DC:
DC GAIN adjusts iris speed (0–255). AI THOLD defines the gain level (-48–60).

EXPOSURE AE PREFERENCE
Set AE PREFERENCE to INDOOR or OUTDOOR depending on the camera environment.
EXPOSURE BLC (Backlight Compensation)
Set BLC to ON or OFF. When BLC is ON, adjust SHADOW GAIN as desired. A higher value
decreases foreground brightness; a lower value increases it.

EXPOSURE WDR (Wide Dynamic Range)
Set WDR to LOW, NORMAL, MEDIUM (default), HIGH, or CUSTOM.
CUSTOM mode lets you adjust BIAS and LIMIT as desired. BIAS defines the WDR level in
the range of LIMIT (-30–30). LIMIT defines the WDR level (0–36).

EXPOSURE AGC (Auto Gain Control)
Set AGC to LOW, MEDIUM, or HIGH (default). A high AGC setting produces a brighter
image in low light but also produces more noise.
EXPOSURE SENSE-UP
SENSE UP automatically activates slow shutter function when a scene is too dark. Select a
value from X2 to X64 to set the frame integration level. The default setting is X4.

EXPOSURE METER ZONE
Note For advanced users only.
METER ZONE defines the specific zone to which AE or WB is applied.
WHITE: Adjust the location of the zone.
GREEN: Reduce the zone area.
RED: Enlarge the zone area.
Press and hold down the joystick to exit.

Color Menu
COLOR WB MODE
Set WB MODE to AWC, ATW, PUSH LOCK, or MANUAL.
AWC Auto White Balance Control mode compensates for color temperature changes
between 2000 K and 18000 K.
ATW Auto Tracking White Balance mode compensates for color temperature
changes between 2500 K and 9500 K.
PUSH LOCK Push Lock mode fixes the white balance based on current lighting. For best
results, place a white surface (such as a piece of paper) in front of camera
during adjustment.
MANUAL Manual mode lets you manually adjust the color temperature (KELVIN
ADJUST) or the red gain and blue gain levels (R/B ADJUST) while monitoring
the color of the image.

COLOR COLOR GAIN
COLOR GAIN sets the color saturation of the image. Select a value between −8and 8.
The default setting is 0.

Day&Night Menu
DAY&NIGHT D&N MODE
Set D&N MODE to AUTO (default), COLOR, or BW.
AUTO Camera automatically switches between day and night mode depending on
the light level.
COLOR Camera remains in day mode, regardless of the light level.
BW Camera remains in night mode, regardless of the light level.

DAY&NIGHT BW BURST
Set BW BURST to ON or OFF depending on whether you want to activate a burst signal
when switching to night mode.
Note Some DVRs require a burst signal to detect a camera.

FUNCTION MIRROR
Set MIRROR to OFF, MIRROR, V-FLIP or ROTATE.
MIRROR The image is flipped horizontally.
V-FLIP The image is flipped vertically.
ROTATE The image is flipped both horizontally and vertically.

FUNCTION SHARPNESS
To adjust the image sharpness, select a value from −8to 8. The default setting is −4.
FUNCTION GAMMA
To adjust the gamma level, select a value from 0.25 to 1.0. The default setting is 0.45.
FUNCTION 3D DNR (Digital Noise Reduction)
Digital Noise Reduction reduces the noise/distortion on the screen in night mode, allowing
clear images in low light conditions. Set 3D DNR to OFF, LOW, MEDIUM, or HIGH. The
default setting is HIGH.
FUNCTION D_ZOOM (Digital Zoom)
D-ZOOM lets you adjust ZOOM, PAN, and TILT.
ZOOM Adjust amount of digital zoom. Select a value up to 8 (8X zoom).
PAN Pan left (−100) or right (100).
TILT Tilt up (−100) or down (100).

Motion Menu
MOTION MOTION
Set MOTION to ON or OFF. When MOTION is set to ON, an alarm notification is displayed
on the screen when movement is detected in the scene. You can adjust the sensitivity of the
motion detection by selecting a value for ACTIVITY THR from 0(least sensitive) to 255
(most sensitive). You can configure up to four motion detection zones.
WHITE: Adjust the location of the zone.
GREEN: Reduce the zone area.
RED: Enlarge the zone area.
Press and hold down the joystick to exit.

Privacy Menu
PRIVACY PRIVACY MASK
Set PRIVACY MASK to ON or OFF. You can create up to six privacy masks. Select ON or
OFF for each mask (AREA 1 through AREA 6). The mask can be white, black, or red.
Move the joystick left/right/up/down to
position the privacy mask on the screen.
Press the joystick and then move left/right/up/
down to resize the privacy mask.
Press and hold the joystick to return to the
previous screen.

Sync Menu
SYNC SYNC
Set SYNC to INT1, INT2, or LL. Select internal sync if the camera uses DC power or if line
lock (LL) is not required. Select line lock to synchronize video signals when two or more
cameras are using AC power in a switching system.

Setup Menu
SETUP PC CONTROL
Note PC CONTROL is not supported.
SETUP TITLE
Set TITLE to ON or OFF. When TITLE is set to ON, you can edit the camera name (TITLE)
and define where you want it to appear on the screen (ID POSITION).
SETUP LANGUAGE
Set the LANGUAGE of the on-screen display to one of the following: ENGLISH,
FRANCAIS, ITALIAN, ESPANOL, or DUTCH.
