USE
The handheld transmier is part of the PEHA Easyclick wireless system. The system is based on transmiers and receivers
with a frequency of 868.3 MHz. This enables the wireless control of appliances by radio signal. With the touch of a
buon on the handheld transmier (radio transmier), devices such as lights, roller shuers, blind motors and enre
groups of appliances can be switched on and o. Users must use the appropriate receivers.

HANDHELD TRANSMITTER FUNCTIONS

• 128 radio channels to control receivers (switching, dimming and roller shuer control)
• Visualisaon funcons (e.g. display window open or closed)
• Programming of 32 applicaon-specic or user-dened funcons
• Programming of 32 switching mes
• PIN code-protected sengs
• Restore factory sengs
Selected funcons may be assigned to 8 shortcut keys to increase ease of operaon. If special bidireconal radio receivers
(45x FU-EBIM) with energy measurement are used, a graphic can be displayed which shows energy consumpon over
the past 24 hours or the past week. This funcon is displayed as a “histogram”.
SERVICE TOOL
The service tool (EnOcean service) is only required by the engineer. The tool enables users to idenfy whether a
transmier is sending a telegram and which addresses are present in the system, or to programme new funcons into
an exisng system. The EnOcean service funcons are not relevant for the handheld transmier end user. These should
not be tested without the correct experse, as it could result in funconal disrupons to the system. They are intended
solely for the EnOcean radio technology engineer.

• EnOcean monitor to record telegrams sent by mulple or one of the ltered radio transmiers.
• Remote management to search, idenfy and locally assign receivers.
• Repeater test and RadioLinkTest (measurement and evaluaon of the transmission path)
SECURITY
The device must be used for the intended purpose only. Unauthorised conversion or modicaon is prohibited! It must
not be used with other devices that could be hazardous to humans, animals or property.

• Device operang instrucons.
• The operang instrucons can only refer to general provisions, and must be viewed in the context of a specic system.
• The service tool is required by the engineer only, and is for the engineer’s exclusive use.

RADIO RANGE
Radio signals are electromagnec waves. The eld strength at the receiver decreases proporonately with an increasing
distance from the transmier. The wireless range is therefore limited. The wireless range is further reduced by various
materials or sources of interference in the transmission direcon of the radio signals. The wireless range can be increased
using Easyclick repeaters (radio ampliers).

 In order that the channel switching funcons of the handheld
transmier can be carried out, the channels must be assigned to
a receiver. If required, you can adjust the receiver funcon and the
relevant parameters (see receiver operang instrucons).
START SCREEN
In standby mode, the display is dark. Press the Enter I buon to switch on. The following start screen then appears which
is idencal to the screen once the baeries have been inserted:
If no buon is pressed, the background lighng will be switched o aer 5-60 sec (to set me see page 15).
If the USB cable is not connected, power-saving mode is acvated aer 30 sec.

INITIAL OPERATION
INSERTING BATTERIES
For the inial operaon, insert the AAA / NiMH, 800mAh low self-discharge (LSD) baeries supplied
into the baery compartment of the handheld transmier.
868.3 MHz
WARNING
If the baeries are discharged or removed, the me and date can no longer be saved!! The me and date then need
to be reset!
– Use only AAA / NiMH 800mAh rechargeable baeries with a low self-discharge (type: LSD).
– Do not reverse the polarity of the baeries! Place the baeries as shown in the baery compartment.
– Do not insert new and old baeries together into the same device.
– Do not insert any other type of baeries (e.g. NiMH or NiCd).
CHARGING BATTERIES
First connect the USB cable at the boom of the handheld transmier. Then, to charge the baeries, connect the USB
cable to a USB interface (e.g. PC) or plug the adapter supplied with the device into a socket. The baery charging status
appears in the display on the top right during charging:
 
The baeries are fully charged (100%).
The baery power is almost depleted, the device may turn itself o at any me (< 5%)
The handheld transmier is connected to the power supply via USB, the baery is being charged.
NOTE The baery charging status will be displayed in the on-state and power-saving mode. The charging cycles depend
on how oen and how long you use your handheld transmier.
DEEP DISCHARGE OF THE BATTERY
Once you have connected the USB cable to charge the baeries, a deep discharge of the baeries is taking place if no
image appears on the display aer the background lighng has been switched on. A specic charging procedure must
then be carried out to charge the baeries (e.g. if the handheld transmier has been stored for a long period):
First, remove the baeries from the handheld transmier. The USB cable is then connected for charging. The discharged
baeries are then inserted into the baery compartment. The charging process will now begin.

ASSIGN THE CHANNEL OF THE HANDHELD TRANSMITTER TO A RECEIVER
– Use the Menu buon on the start screen of the handheld transmier to display the Sengs menu.
– Select the “Channels” menu item in the Sengs menu, and acvate using the Enter I buon.
– Use the cursor buon or to select a channel from the channel list.
– Acvate the receiver learning mode (see receiver operang instrucons).
– Use the Menu buon to assign the channel to the receiver (page 12).
– If required, adjust the funcons and parameters of the receiver (see receiver operang instrucons).
NOTEPress the buon several mes to alternately assign the channel to the receiver or delete it. If no list of
channels is displayed, channels must rst be created using the switch funcon. More detailed informaon on channels

  Menu buon abc is used to switch from upper/lower case and
numbers/characters 012 . Select a character with the cursor buons to enter a name.
Then use the Enter I buon to conrm the characters you have selected. A maximum of
17 characters is permied.
Use the  buon to save, and then return to the Timer menu. The name will now
appear in the top line. Then enter the function.
 Use the , cursor button to switch the timer function to active 
or inactive . This can be used to select whether the clock should be assigned to a
“Channel” or a “”.
Under “Channel”, use the cursor buttons to set the function of the channel and timers (1)
and (2) (timer = on, off, down, up).
Under “”, the mer funcons (1) and (2) can be set with the cursor buons
(timer = start or stop of the user function).
Save with the  button, and then return to the Timer menu. The switching times and
activated weekdays will be displayed in the lower part of the display.
 Timer (1) 20:00 SMTWTFS; timer (2) 07:00 SMTWTFS.
 Under (1) and (2) , you can use the cursor buons to set the timer
switching times on/off. To set the days of the week, the corresponding weekdays are
displayed with the button, and hidden with the button.
Use to turn the switching times on/off. Use the  button to save and return
to the timer menu.
  Use this command to delete the timer. Press the Enter I button to
prompt the message: “Really delete xx timer?”.
If you press Menu button  then the timer will be deleted. If the Menu button 
is pressed, the user will return to the menu with no changes applied.

CHANNELS
If the user selects Channels in the Sengs menu, an exisng channel name will appear or the “Lighng” channel will
created by default. A maximum of 128 channels is available.
 A channel describes the basic funconality or connecon to
a receiver or user funcon. The channel will then only be linked in all addional funcons
in the handheld transmier. Deleng a channel will remove all the connecons and links.

For bidireconal receivers a message is displayed, while standard receivers require users to check the
correct programming on the receiver. A * before the channel name means that a default name, and not a specic
name, is sll assigned to a receiver. A before the channel name denotes: bidireconal connecon, the receiver
has not yet been congured.


 Conrm using the Enter I buon. First, an address is entered between 1
and 128. To do this, use the , cursor buons. The system will automacally propose

 In group lists, channels with switch funcons will be created as a group. This is
praccal for rooms (e.g. living room, kitchen, bathroom, etc.) or funcons (e.g. panic
buon, central switching o, etc.).
If “Group lists” is selected in the Sengs menu, exisng group lists are displayed that
can be edited.

List names are automacally created (List 01, List 02, etc.). A personalised
name can be assigned here. To do so, select the characters to enter a name using the
cursor buons. Then use the Enter I buon to conrm the characters you have selected.
A maximum of 17 characters is permied. Use the

buon to save and return to the
Group list. The name then appears on the top line.
 Conrm using the Enter I buon. A list of all the exisng channels
now appears. Use the cursor buons to select the channels to be added, and conrm
them with the Enter I buon. A triangle then appears to the le of the accepted channels.
This enables users to quickly see which channels have been accepted. Select a previously
selected channel and press the Enter I buon to remove the channel from the list again,
and the triangle disappears. The number of accepted channels appears in the centre of
the lower part of the display. Use the Menu buon
+
to accept this list, and the menu
for this list will be displayed again.
 Conrm with the Enter I buon. A list of all the exisng channels
now appears. Use the cursor buons to select the channel you wish to move. This then
appears with a triangle to the le. Use the ,  Menu buons to now move the
selected channel to the required posion. Use the le Menu buon  to accept this
seng, and the menu for this list will be displayed again.
 Conrm with the Enter I buon. A list of all the exisng channels
now appears. You can then use the cursor buons to select the channel you wish to delete.
Conrm using the Enter I buon. A triangle will then appear to the le. Use the Menu
buon

to delete the channel, and the menu for this list will be displayed again.
 Use this order to delete a group list. Press the Enter I buon and the “Really
delete xx list?” prompt appears. If the Menu buon

is pressed, the list is then
deleted. If the Menu button  is pressed, the user will return to the menu with no
changes applied.

 If a channel is assigned to a shortcut key, the channel will be assigned to a receiver using a shortcut key.
If this is not the case, no funcon will be listed! This is not required if the channel has already been assigned to the
relevant receiver in the channel sengs!

DISPLAY
 Lighng and contrast (0-100%) can be adjusted under “Display”. The period of
me before the handheld transmier enters standby mode can be set from 5 sec to
120 sec. The lighng is switched o aer half of the set me has elapsed. Popups to
display status changes can be enabled/disabled using shortcuts.



 If a PIN code has been set, the sengs are locked for eding. The sengs are
only unlocked once the PIN code is entered.

TEMPERATURE MEASUREMENT
This funcon measures the ambient temperature at the lower part of the handheld transmier which is then shown in
the display. This depends on the locaon of the handheld transmier and may therefore deviate from the actual room
temperature. The deviaon can be oset by seng the temperature oset funcon (-8 to +8°). The factory seng for
the temperature display is °C.



the point of use! If the handheld transmier is inuenced by a heat source (e.g. heang,
sun, etc.), this will aect the precise temperature measurement and heang regulaon!

CONSUMPTION DATA HISTOGRAM
The “histogram” funcon provides a graphic display of the consumpon data of a selected channel over the past
24 hours, the past week or in a group list. The total consumpon of all the receivers in the list is displayed. The handheld
transmier retrieves the total of all the values of the receivers and displays the values graphically. The lower display area
shows the total consumpon of the past 24 hours or 7 days, and the corresponding consumpon costs.
 The funcon can only be carried out using bidireconal Easyclick receivers with the energy measurement funcon.
It is not possible to measure consumpon with Easyclick blind and roller shuer receivers!

The EnOcean monitor can be used to analyse the transmier radio signal. The eld strength, quality and type of the
radio signal are measured and displayed. Each transmier has a xed transmier ID that can be used to clearly idenfy
it! If repeaters (radio ampliers) are used, the signal they emit is also displayed.

The me and date are shown in the top line, and also when the telegram was received. The transmier ID address that
sent the telegram is displayed below this. The signal strength is displayed in the rst segment bar “O” (original telegram).
The quality of the 1-level repeater is displayed in the second segment bar “R1”. The quality of the 2-level repeater
is displayed in the third segment bar “R2”. Two bars are considered sucient telegram strength. If no repeaters are
available, the segment bars will be empty.
Several transmiers can be acvated almost simultaneously in larger systems. This makes it dicult to analyse the radio
signal of a single transmier. You can therefore use the buon to lter out the relevant transmier and transmier
ID and to analyse this specic transmier at various distances.

RADIOLINKTEST
The EnOcean RadioLinkTest is a range test of a radio signal between two handheld transmiers or between a bidireconal
receiver and a handheld transmier. The handheld transmier analysing the signal must be congured as the master
and the second device as a slave. Bidireconal receivers are always congured as slaves.
The start and connecon setup of the range test between two handheld transmiers is iniated with the  buon on
the master and slave. The master carries out the range test analysis.
