IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be followed,
including the following:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS APPLIANCE.
WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE,
ELECTRIC SHOCK OR INJURY:
• Fully assemble before operating.
• Operate Steamer only at voltage specified on data label on back of cleaner.
• Do not leave appliance when plugged in. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before
cleaning or servicing.
• Do not use or store outdoors. Store in a dry place.
• Do not use for space heating purposes.
• Do not immerse in water.
• Do not allow to be used as a toy. Not intended for use by children age 12 and under.
Close supervision is necessary when used near children. To avoid injury, burn, or damage,
keep children away from product, and do not allow children to touch appliance while
in use or before completely cool, or to place fingers or other objects into any openings.
• Do not use any extension cord with this product.
• Do not handle the plug, or the Steam Mop with wet hands. Do not operate the Steam Mop
without footwear.
• Do not place hands or feet under the Steam Mop while it is in operation as the unit gets
very hot and may create a burn hazard.
• Use only on flat, horizontal surfaces. Do not use the Steam Mop on walls, counter tops
or windows.
• To protect against a risk of electric shock, do not immerse the Steam Mop into water or
any other liquids.
• Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer’s recommended attachments
and products.
• Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If appliance is not working as it should, has been
dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, take it to a service center prior
to continuing use.
• Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around
sharp edges or corners. Do not place product on cord. Do not run appliance over cord.
Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
• Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
• Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
• Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked.
• Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings.
• Turn off all controls before unplugging.
• Use extra care when cleaning on stairs. When not in use do not place cleaner on stairs
or furniture, as it may result in injury or damage.
• To avoid burn or injury, do not apply steam directly to any person or animal.

• Only use water to refill the clean water tank. Do not use any type of chemicals or additives
in the clean water tank.
• Do not open the water fill cap when using the Steam Mop.
• Do not add descaling, aromatic, alcoholic products, cleaning solutions, scented perfumes,
oils or any other chemicals to the water used in this appliance as this may damage the
unit or make it unsafe for use. While this Steam Mop is designed for tap water, to increase
effectiveness of the steam and to avoid build up of minerals, you may use distilled water
to fill Steam Mop.
• Do not use Steam Mop in an enclosed space filled with vapor given off by oil-based paint,
paint thinners, some moth proofing substances, flammable dust, or other explosive or
toxic vapors.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a
person responsible for their safety.
• Symbol IEC 60417-5597 (2002-10) is used on the unit to indicate danger of scalding.
• When in use, never turn the appliance over or use while on its side.
• Allow Steam Mop sufficient time to cool prior to removing the microfiber pad.
• Before cleaning the Steam Mop, unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet and
clean with a dry or damp cloth. Do not pour water or use alcohol, benzene or paint thinner
on the unit.
• Do not use in areas where flammable or combustible liquids, such as gasoline may
be present.
• Connect to a properly grounded outlet only. See Grounding Instructions.
• Do not use without microfiber pad properly attached to mophead.
• Do not clean over floor electrical outlets.
• Do not use the Steam Mop on leather, wax polished furniture or floors, synthetic fabrics,
velvet or other delicate, steam sensitive materials.
• Use only with Hoover® Multi-Purpose Disinfectant or Hoover® All-Purpose Cleaner.
• Do not operate Steam Mop without water in clean water tank.
• WARNING: Always switch off and unplug the steam cleaner from the electrical outlet
before assembling, opening or emptying the water container, or before connecting/
disconnecting the attachments.
• CAUTION: The steam cleaner is a very powerful unit. Before unplugging the cord into the
electrical outlet, make sure the switch is in the ‘off’ position. Hold the steam cleaner
firmly when starting and in use.
• IMPORTANT: We recommend the use of a Residual Current Device with a Residual
Current rating of 30mA or less.
• WARNING: Never leave the steam mop in one spot on any surface for an extended period
of time as this may damage the floor surface. Always return the mop back to the resting
pad when not in use or when not continuously moving across the floor.
• IMPORTANT: The steam mop may not be suitable for all floating floorboards - please
check with your floorboard manufacturer first prior to use.

■ Remove the clean water tank (2.2) on the
FRONT of the Steam Mop.
■ Twist the cap counter clockwise to remove (2.3).
■ Fill the water tank with 500ml of water.
Replace the water cap and twist clockwise until
tightly secure.
■ Ensure hard water filter is in place (see page 13).
■ Slide the clean water tank down and snap
into place (2.5).
For Disinfecting
■ For optimal disinfecting benefits, use the “Hard
Floor Microfiber Pad,” which contains the cut
outs in it (2.6).
■ Place the “Hard Floor Microfiber Pad” on the
floor (white side up).
■ Place the product on top of the pad making sure
the mop head covers the entire pad (2.6). Hook
and loop feature on the bottom of the mop head
will hold the pad in place.
For General Cleaning
■ Use the “Multi-Surface Microfiber Pad” (2.7).
■ Place the “Multi-Surface Microfiber Pad” on the
floor (white side up).
■ Place the product on top of the pad making sure
the mop head covers the entire pad (2.7). Hook
and loop feature on the bottom of the mop head
will hold the pad in place.






WARNING

Only use recommended Hoover® Multi-Purpose
Disinfectant or Hoover® Multi-Purpose Cleaner.
■ Remove the solution tank from the BACK of the
steam cleaner (2.8)
■ Twist the cap counter-clockwise to remove (2.9)
■ DO NOT MIX HOOVER® MULTI-PURPOSE
DISINFECTANT OR HOOVER® MULTIPURPOSE
CLEANER WITH ANY OTHER CLEANING
SOLUTION
■ Fill the tank with 300ml of recommended
Hoover® Multi-Purpose Disinfectant or Hoover®
Multi-Purpose Cleaner. Replace cap and twist
clockwise (2.10) until tightly secure.
■ Slide the solution tank down and snap into
place (2.11).
■ You can now disinfect or clean on demand by
turning the Clean Control dial (2.12) to the
desired setting, which will automatically dispense
the disinfectant or cleaner when pressing the
trigger. Turn to the “off” position if no Hoover®
Mutli-Purpose Disinfectant or Hoover®
Multi-Purpose Cleaner is desired.


■ Attach Microfiber pad. Plug in and press the
power button on the steamer (2.13).
■ The unit will take roughly 30 seconds to be
ready to produce steam. Once steam is ready to
be produced, the green “steam ready” indicator
will illuminate.
■ To recline the steamer place foot on floor head
and tilt handle (2.14).
■ To produce steam squeeze the trigger (2.15).
■ Move the Steam Mop slowly backwards and
forwards across the floor (2.16) paying particular
attention to high traffic areas.
For Disinfecting
■ Turn Clean Control dial to HIGH.
■ Follow directions for steam cleaning hard floors.
■ Run a minimum of 4 strokes at a medium pace
across same area and allow to air dry.
WARNING
!!
Never leave the Steam Mop in one spot on any
surface for an extended period of time with a
damp or wet Microfiber pad attached as this
may damage the floor surface.
Your Steam Mop should only be used on tiles,
linoleum or sealed wood flooring. If used on wax
flooring, you may experience loss of glossiness.
This steam mop may not be suitable for all
floating floorboards – please check with your
floorboard manufacturer prior to use.
To reduce the risk of personal injury, unplug the

• IMPORTANT •
When using on carpets, always ensure the
Microfiber pad is properly attached to the
floor head.
■ Attach Multi-Surface Microfiber Pad. Plug in and
press the power button on the steamer.
■ The unit will take roughly 30 seconds to be
ready to produce steam. Once steam is ready to
be produced, the green “steam ready” indicator

■ Place the steamer into the carpet glider (2.17).
■ To recline the steamer place foot on floor head
and tilt handle (2.18).
■ To produce steam squeeze the trigger (2.19).
■ Move the Steam Mop slowly backwards and
forwards across the floor (2.20) paying particular
attention to high traffic areas.
■ It is not recommended to use solution on carpet
surface. Simply use the steam on it’s own with
no solution.
■ After using Steam Mop and to avoid damage to
your floors, unplug and place Steam Mop in
cooling base (2.21) until product cools. Once
steamer is cooled, remove steam pad and follow
“how to clean” instructions in Microfiber pad
section on page 12 to avoid mold and mildew.


How to Empty
■ Remove the clean water tank located on the
front side of Steam Mop (3.1).
■ Twist the cap counter-clockwise to remove (3.2).
■ Empty any excess water into the sink, allow to
air dry and replace water cap and return to the
Steam Mop (3.3).

use a detergent.

When to Replace
■ To locate hard water filter, remove clean water tank on FRONT of Steam Mop.
■ Your machine is fitted with a hard water filter. If you live in an area of hard water the filter will discolour/
darken over time. Depending on water hardness and/or frequency of use the filter should be changed
every 12 months (3.5). Contact a HOOVER® customer service representative at 1300 360 845 for
replacement details: Part #440001633.
■ Unplug the power cord and disconnect the power supply.
■ Place steamer in cooling base and allow to cool.
■ Empty the residual water in the tank and clean the external surface with a dry cloth. Allow to dry.
■ Re-install water tank, replace in cooling base to prevent damage to floor and store in upright position.
■ Leaving unused solution in solution tank will not affect performance.
• IMPORTANT •
The condition of the filter affects the performance
of your machine.
Check and change filter (depending on level of use).
Do not operate Steam Mop without hard water
filter in place.

USE TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE AS A FIRST STEP TO RESOLVE ANY PROBLEMS YOU MAY BE
EXPERIENCING.

There is a small opening towards the bottom of the trim that goes around the
perimeter of the back of the steamer. This opening is a steam exhaust vent (5.1),
should the primary steam path become blocked. If steam starts to escape from
this opening you should:
■ Turn the steamer off, and unplug.
■ Let it cool completely.
■ Remove the microfiber pad and inspect the steam port on the bottom of the
nozzle for blockages. If a blockage can be seen, use a small thin object such
as a paperclip to try to free the blockage (5.2).
■ If the steam path is still blocked, then remove the screw on the back of the
tube (5.3, A) that runs down to the nozzle.
■ Once the screw is removed, the nozzle can be removed by pulling straight
downward away from the main body of the steamer.
■ After the nozzle is removed, examine the small hole on the end of the tube
extending from the steamer. Using a thin object such as a paperclip, attempt
to remove the blockage (5.3, B).
■ If the steam path is still blocked, take the product to an authorized Hoover
Service representative. Call 1300 360 845.
