• Only use water to refill the clean water tank. Do not use any type of chemicals or additives
in the clean water tank.
• Do not open the water fill cap when using the Steam Mop.
• Do not add descaling, aromatic, alcoholic products, cleaning solutions, scented perfumes,
oils or any other chemicals to the water used in this appliance as this may damage the
unit or make it unsafe for use. While this Steam Mop is designed for tap water, to increase
effectiveness of the steam and to avoid build up of minerals, you may use distilled water
to fill Steam Mop.
• Do not use Steam Mop in an enclosed space filled with vapor given off by oil-based paint,
paint thinners, some moth proofing substances, flammable dust, or other explosive or
toxic vapors.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a
person responsible for their safety.
• Symbol IEC 60417-5597 (2002-10) is used on the unit to indicate danger of scalding.
• When in use, never turn the appliance over or use while on its side.
• Allow Steam Mop sufficient time to cool prior to removing the microfiber pad.
• Before cleaning the Steam Mop, unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet and
clean with a dry or damp cloth. Do not pour water or use alcohol, benzene or paint thinner
on the unit.
• Do not use in areas where flammable or combustible liquids, such as gasoline may
be present.
• Connect to a properly grounded outlet only. See Grounding Instructions.
• Do not use without microfiber pad properly attached to mophead.
• Do not clean over floor electrical outlets.
• Do not use the Steam Mop on leather, wax polished furniture or floors, synthetic fabrics,
velvet or other delicate, steam sensitive materials.
• Use only with Hoover® Multi-Purpose Disinfectant or Hoover® All-Purpose Cleaner.
• Do not operate Steam Mop without water in clean water tank.
• WARNING: Always switch off and unplug the steam cleaner from the electrical outlet
before assembling, opening or emptying the water container, or before connecting/
disconnecting the attachments.
• CAUTION: The steam cleaner is a very powerful unit. Before unplugging the cord into the
electrical outlet, make sure the switch is in the ‘off’ position. Hold the steam cleaner
firmly when starting and in use.
• IMPORTANT: We recommend the use of a Residual Current Device with a Residual
Current rating of 30mA or less.
• WARNING: Never leave the steam mop in one spot on any surface for an extended period
of time as this may damage the floor surface. Always return the mop back to the resting
pad when not in use or when not continuously moving across the floor.
• IMPORTANT: The steam mop may not be suitable for all floating floorboards - please
check with your floorboard manufacturer first prior to use.
