Safety Precautions

- All equipment shall be locked out or tagged out to protect against accidental or inad-

Machine Safety Features
This machine has been designed with safety in mind. Please understand these fea-
tures, and use them when operating the machine.
The machine is protected
by covers which prevent
your hands from reaching
any dangerous parts.
The machine includes a
key switch. Only an autho-
rized person should have
access to the key.
When this door is open,
the machine will not run.
When the safety cover is
open, the knife is locked
and the machine will not
run.
The machine will only start
cutting the sheets when
both cutting buttons are
pressed at the same time.
If one of the cutting button is
released while the machine is
cutting the sheets, the knife
automatically returns to the
starting position.
The safety cover is
locked while the ma-
chine is cutting the
sheets.
The machine is
equipped with a lever
which moves the cut
sheets forward.
The knife can be re-
placed without touching
it directly.

Machine Features
These LED's can be used to
check the machine opera-
tion. See page 1.
The illuminated cut line
conveniently indicates the
cutting position.
Sheets up to 17.08" wide
can be cut.
The counter is used to count
the number of cuts, and also
to tell when the knife should
be replaced.
This knob can be used to
adjust the back-gauge.
See page 5.
The knife can be replaced
easily because it is dispos-
able.

Operating Procedures
This section explains how to operate the machine.

Turn on the power switch.
Turn on the key switch.
Insert the key and turn it to the right.
The "Ready" LED lights.
If the knife is not at the starting position, the
"Cutting" LED will light.
See page 10 .
Set the back-gauge to the cutting
length.
The back-gauge can be moved forward or back
using the adjusting knob. Use the scale to set the
back-gauge.
Place the sheets.
Open the safety cover, and place the sheets so
that the edge of stack touches the back-gauge.
The sheets will be cut along the lighted cut line.
While the safety cover is open, the LED
will blink.

Dispose of the trim.
WARNING
If some trim is stuck to the
knife, remove it using a brush
to prevent your hands or
fingers from touching the
knife directly.
Remove the cut sheets.
Push the sheet pusher lever to the front. The cut
sheets will move forward so you can remove them.
WARNING
Do not touch the knife above
the cut sheet.
Close the safety cover.
If the cover remains open, the machine will not
run.
Once the cover is closed, the LED will
go out.
Cut the sheets.
Press the both cutting buttons at the same time
and keep pressing until the cutting is done.
- If one of the cutting button is released
while the machine is cutting, the cutting
will stop and the knife will automatically
return to the starting position.
- While the "Cutting" LED is lit, the
safety cover is locked and can not be
opened.

Close the safety cover.
Turn off the key switch.
Turn the key switch to the left and remove it.
Only authorized persons should have
access to the key.

Trouble-
shooting
Problem
The circuit breaker is tripped.
1) Turn off the key switch.
2) Wait for one minute.
3) Push in the circuit breaker.
4) Try to operate the machine again.
The motor was overloaded. If the machine was
running, wait several minutes and try to operate
again. If the knife is worn, the machine may need
excessive force to cut the sheets. If the breaker trips
repeatedly, replace the knife.

the LED is still turned on and the buzzer does
not stop after you press both cutting buttons, please
call your local dealer.

1) Turn off the key switch.
2) Wait for one minute.

stop after you turn on the key switch, please call your

This section explains how to maintain the PC-S43 to keep it in good condition.
Replacing the Cut Stick
WARNING
- Turn off the power switch
and key switch before chang-
ing or replacing the cutting
stick.
- Be careful not to touch the
knife above the stick.
1 Replacing the Cut Stick
When the groove in the cut stick gets too deep, the last few sheets may not be cut, or may not
separate completely. Rotate the cut stick or replace the stick.
Remove the cut stick
Turn off the power switch and key
switch.
Remove the cut stick
1)Insert the Allen wrench (supplied) into the cutout
and lift the cut stick by moving the wrench in the
direction shown by the arrow.
2)Remove the cut stick by prying up from the right
side to the left side.
Remove any dust in the groove.

One cut stick can provide eight working
lines on the four faces.
