WARNING: Enable the throttle cut feature. Always engage throttle cut
before approaching the aircraft.
WARNING: Never assign Aux 2 to SAFE Select during transmitter setup
with any model transmitter. If SAFE Select is assigned to Aux 2, the
throttle channel/motor will reverse in ight once SAFE is enabled. Motor
reversing is assigned to Aux 2/channel 7 by default in the Smart ESC.
IMPORTANT: After you set up your model, always rebind the transmitter and
receiver to set the desired failsafe positions.
IMPORTANT: The included receiver has been programmed specically for
operation in this aircraft.
When using the recommended setup, the transmitter switch layout is as follows:
• Switch F controls the aileron dual rates
• Switch C controls the elevator dual rates
• Switch G controls the rudder dual rates
• Switch H controls the throttle cut
• Switch D controls the aps
The GEAR Channel (CH 5) controls the retractable landing gear.
The FLAP Channel (CH 6) controls the aps.
‡ For DX6e, DX6, and DX7 setups, The FLAP Channel (CH 6) can be used to toggle
SAFE Select. With the values listed in the radio setup table, it will turn SAFE ON
for half and full ap positions and AS3X will be ON for no aps position.To use the
ap channel for SAFE Select, the switch values must be set to +100 and -100
and the speed set to 0 temporarily to assign the SAFE switch in the ap system
menu. Then change the ap system values back to the listing in the Tx setup.
See the SAFE Select Switch Designation section of this manual to assign the
switch for SAFE Select.

Pre-Programmed Transmitter Setup Files
To save time when setting up your transmitter for this model, visit
www.SpektrumRC.com to download the latest pre-programmed transmitter setup
les. Locate the le for this model using the item number. Download the correct
model le and install it in your transmitter using an SD card.
1. Go to SpektrumRC.com
2. Hover over Support and click on Support Hub from the menu that appears.
3. Scroll and select your transmitter from the list.
4. Scroll to Quick Links and click on Manuals & Support.
5. Click on the Transmitter Preset Download link.
6. Follow preset model les import instruction for the preset model les.
Dual Rates
Low rate is recommended for the initial ights.
NOTICE: To ensure AS3X®technology functions properly, do not lower rate
values below 50%. If lower rates are desired, manually adjust the position of the
pushrods on the servo arm.
NOTICE: If oscillation occurs at high speed, refer to the Troubleshooting Guide
for more information.
Exponential
After rst ights, you may adjust exponential in your transmitter.
Transmitter Telemetry Setup
If the transmitter that you intend to use with this aircraft is not displaying
telemetry data, visit www.SpektrumRC.com and update your rmware. With the
latest rmware installed on your transmitter the telemetry option should now be
functional on your transmitter.
Transmitter Setup
DX Series Transmitter Setup
1. Power ON your transmitter, click on scroll wheel, roll to System Setup and click
the scroll wheel. When prompted to turn OFF RF, choose yes.Select
2. Go to Model Select and choose <Add New Model> at the bottom of the list.
The system asks if you want to create a new model, select Create.
3. Set Model Type: Select Airplane Model Type by choosing the airplane.
The system asks you to conrm model type, data will be reset. Select YES.
4. Set Model Name: Input a name for your model le.
5. Go to Aircraft Type and scroll to the Wing Selection, choose;
Wing: 1 Ail 1 Flap
Tail: Normal
6. Go to Servo Setup, select reverse, select GER
7. Select List to go back to Function List
8. Select <Main Screen>, Click the scroll wheel to enter the Function List
9. Go to D/R (Dual Rate) and Expo;
Channel: Aileron
Set Switch:Switch F
Set Switch Positions Oand 1:Rate 100%, Expo 10%
Set Switch Positions 2:Rate 70%, Expo 5%
10.Go to D/R (Dual Rate) and Expo;

NX Series Transmitter Setup
1. Power ON your transmitter, click on scroll wheel, roll to System Setup and
click the scroll wheel. Select YES.
2. Go to Model Select and choose Add New Model near the bottom of the list.
Select Airplane Model Type by choosing airplane image, select Create.
3. Set Model Name: Input a name for your model le.
4. Go to Aircraft Type and scroll to the Wing Selection, choose;
Wing: 1 Ail 1 Flap
Tail: Normal
5. Select Main Screen, Click the scroll wheel to enter the Function List.
6. Go to Servo Setup and select Reverse, select GER.
7. Go to D/R (Dual Rate) and Expo;
