OC-192c/STM-64c POS Optical Interface Boards
Overview
The Quidway®NetEngine 80E core router (“NE80E” hereinafter) is based on the 10G platform. It
provides 10G wire-speed OC-192c/STM-64c POS optical interface boards that may be plugged in
any service slots of the NE80E. The NE80E can provide 16 OC-192c/STM-64c POS interfaces. It
can be connected to the SDH transmission equipment or other equipment to provide transmission
channels of 10G bandwidth. Currently, the OC-192c/STM-64c POS interface is widely applied in
carriers' MANs, bearer networks and backbone networks.
CR52-POS/STM64-2KM
The OC-192c/STM-64c POS optical interface boards implement POS frame encapsulation/
decapsulation of data flows and SDH/SONET mapping/demapping of POS frames, provide external
optical interfaces at a rate of 10 Gbps, and provide such functions as loopback, environment
monitoring and information query.
They support hot plugging. The user may add or remove them as needed while the equipment is
powered on without affecting the services of the other interface boards. Depending on the optical
module types supported by the interface boards, the NE80E can provide two types of modules:
pluggable XFP optical module and fixed optical module, which may be selected depending upon
different networking requirements.
Specifications
Currently, the NE80E provides four types of OC-192c/STM-64c POS optical interface boards.
Among them, one type can have pluggable XFP optical modules while the other three types adopt
fixed optical modules. The following table lists the board specifications:
