Keyboard Operations

expressions and how to use the display commands to view the running status of the device.

1.1 display Commands
This section describes the functions of display commands and lists the display commands in
common use.
As an important means to maintain and troubleshoot a network, the display commands can be
used to collect current information about the version, device, and diagnosis of the S9300.
Table 1-1 lists the display commands in common use. For details, refer to the Quidway
S9300 Terabit Routing Switch - Command Reference.
CAUTION
You are disallowed to run the display diagnostic-information command simultaneously on
multiple terminals connected to the S9300. Otherwise, the CPU usage of the S9300 may
obviously rise and the network performance may be degraded.
Table 1-1 Common display commands
Command Description
display current-configuration Displays the parameters that take effect currently on the
S9300.
display device Displays information about the S9300.
display version Displays the version and boards information of the
S9300.
display this Displays valid configurations in the current view.
display diagnostic-information It is mainly used to collect information about the S9300
when a fault cannot be located or rectified. Then, you can
send the information to Huawei technical personnel for
fault analysis.
This command is not recommended for routine
troubleshooting.
display this interface Displays the current status of the interface.
1.2 Regular Expressions
The section describes the regulations of regular expression.
The regular expression specifies a rule of information matching. You can use the regular
expression to match the targets and filter information to be displayed.
To set up matching rules more flexibly, you can use metacharacters with special meanings in
the regular expression. Table 1-2 lists the metacharacters in common use.

. Matches any single character except "\n", including spaces.
* The character before it appears 0 times or multiple consecutive times in the target.
+ The character before it appears once or multiple consecutive times in the target.
| Matches either expression it separates.
^ The characters after it must appear at the beginning of the target.
$ The characters before it must appear at the end of the target.
[xyz] Matches any character in the square bracket.
[^xyz] Matches any character except those in the square brackets. The "^" is before the
characters.
[a-z] Matches any character within the specified range.
[^a-z] Matches any character out of the specified range.
{n} The "n" is a non-negative integer. It refers to repeating exactly n times.
{n,} The "n" is a non-negative integer. It refers to repeating at least n times.
{n,m} The "m" and "n" are both non-negative integers, and the "n" is equal to or smaller
than the "m". It refers to repeating the times ranging from "n" to "m". Note that
there is no space between n and comma, and between comma and m.

You can use regular expressions in the display commands to filter the information to be
displayed. To filter the terminal display of the display commands, you can choose one of the
three modes:
lbegin: displays all lines beginning with the character string that matches the specified
regular-expression.

lexclude: displays all lines without the character string that matches the specified regular-
expression.
linclude: displays all lines with the character string that matches the specified regular-
expression.

display information recorded in the log
buffer.
1.3.2 Specifying the Filtering Mode on a Split Screen
If a lot of information is displayed on a split screen after the display command is run, you can
enter the following escape characters and the corresponding character strings when "---- More
----" is prompted.
l"/": functions the same as begin.
l"-": functions the same as exclude.
l"+": functions the same as include.
For example, when running the display command to check the current configuration, you can
display all the lines that match the keyword interface.
