Thank you for purchasing the Hunter Pro-HC Controller. This Quick Start Guide will help
you install and congure the Pro-HC Controller and connect to Wi-Fi. For support of the
Hydrawise™ cloud soware or help with your Hydrawise account, please visit

Your Pro-HC box contains:
• A Pro-HC Wi-Fi controller
• 24 VAC transformer (indoor model) or built-in transformer (outdoor model)
• Three screws and three wall anchors for wall mounting
• Three wire nuts for U.S. outdoor and one Terminal block for European outdoor models

INSTALLATION
Installing the Pro-HC Controller
Start by choosing a location with good Wi-Fi coverage. Wi-Fi coverage can be easily
tested using a smartphone. A signal strength of two or three bars is recommended.
Wi-Fi connectivity can also be tested on the Pro-HC itself (signal strength is shown
when you select a wireless network).
Mounting the controller to a wall
All necessary hardware is included for most installations.

Mounting the controller to a wall (continued)
1. Use the hole at the top of the controller as a reference and secure a 1" (25 mm) screw
into the wall. Note: Install screw anchors when attaching the controller to drywall or
masonry wall.
2. Align controller with the screw and slide the keyhole on top of the controller over
the screw.
3. Secure controller in place by installing screws in the other mounting holes.
For PHC-601-A, PHC1201-A, and PHC2401-A: If the supply cord is damaged,
it must be replaced by the manufacturer or service agent or a similarly qualied person
to avoid hazard.

CONNECTING AC POWER
Indoor cabinet
Route transformer cable through the hole on the bottom le side of the controller and
connect one yellow wire to each of the screws marked 24AC and the green wire to GND.
Note: The indoor Pro-HC is not water or weather resistant, and must be installed
indoors or in a protected area. This device is not intended for use by young children.
Never let children play with this device.

Outdoor cabinet
The outdoor model is water and weather resistant. Connecting the outdoor Pro-HC to the
primary power should be done by a licensed electrician following all local codes.

1. Route AC power cable and conduit
through the ½" (13 mm) conduit opening
on the le side of the bottom of the
cabinet.
2. Connect the wires to the transformer
wires located inside the junction box.
International units are supplied with a
built-in terminal strip. Always use a UL
listed conduit ½" (13 mm) male adapter
when installing the AC wiring.
3. Insert the adapter into the ½" (13 mm)
hole at the bottom of the controller.
Attach a nut to the adapter inside the
enclosure.
4. A battery is not required for this controller.
Watering will not occur without AC power.
Since this controller has non-volatile
memory, the program, clock, and calendar
will be retained during a power outage.
Note: To be performed by a licensed electrician only. Always use UL listed ½" (13 mm)
conduit with male adapter when installing AC wiring. Pro-HC controllers are
intended to be supplied AC power with an over-current protected device. Improper
installation could result in shock or re hazard. This device is not intended for use by
young children. Never let children play with this device.

CONNECTING STATION WIRES
1. Route valve wires between control valve
location and controller.
2. At valves, attach a common wire to
either solenoid wire of all valves. This is
most commonly a white-colored wire.
Attach a separate control wire to the
remaining wire of each valve. All wire
splice connections should be done using
waterproof connectors.
3. Route valve wires through the conduit
and attach conduit to one of the
openings on the bottom of the cabinet.
4. Strip ½" (13 mm) of insulation from ends
of all wires. Secure the valve common
wire to “COM” (Common) terminal.
Attach all individual valve control wires
to the appropriate station terminals.
Note: All wire connections should be done using waterproof connectors. Connect
each of the other individual wires to a dierent colored wire. Record zones against
wire color for later reference. Connect the common wire from the multicore cable
(usually white) to the terminals on the controller marked COM.

CONNECTING SENSORS OR FLOW METERS (OPTIONAL)
Pro-HC Controller supports most open/closed contact type of sensors, such as Hunter
rain and soil moisture sensors.
1. Connect one sensor wire to COMMON on the controller.
2. Connect the Normally Closed or Normally Open wire from the sensor to SEN-1 or
SEN-2 on the controller and congure in the Hydrawise app.
For full details, refer to the instructions
provided with your sensor, or ow meter.
Once you've wired your sensor, you must
congure it in your Hydrawise account.

Wiring for standard Hydrawise 0.75" (20 mm) or
1" (25 mm) ow meters is as follows:

CONNECTING TO A WI-FI NETWORK
When your controller is rst powered on, it will run a short wizard to connect it to your
wireless router.
If you’re not using the initial startup wizard, then go to the Wireless Settings section to
make changes. For support, please contact hunter.direct/prohchelp.
Using the wizard
1. Select your wireless network from the list shown on the controller display
and press the Conrm button on screen.
2. Enter your wireless password and press the OK button on keyboard.
When connecting to your wireless network, the Wi-Fi icon at the bottom right of the
controller screen will ash. Connecting takes about 30 seconds and when successfully
connected the Wi-Fi icon will stop ashing and stay on.
Note: If your network is not listed, check if the unit is
within wireless range.
Note: Make sure you press the OK button aer you’ve
entered your password. Pressing the Home or Back
buttons will not save your changes.

To connect the Pro-HC Controller to the Hydrawise app, follow these steps and then
follow the on-screen instructions.
Register for an Account Online
1. If you have not already done so, go to hydrawise.com and register for an account.
Log in to Your Account
2. If this is your rst time logging in, you will be guided through a setup wizard to help
you with initial conguration of your controller.

INSTALLATION DES PRO-HC STEUERGERÄTS
Installation des Pro-HC-Steuergeräts
Wählen Sie zunächst einen Standort mit guter Wi-Fi-Abdeckung aus. Die Wi-Fi-
Abdeckung können Sie ganz einfach mit Ihrem Smartphone testen. Wir empfehlen eine
Signalstärke von 2 oder 3 Balken. Sie können die W-Lan-Verbindung aber auch über das
HC direkt testen (die Signalstärke wird angezeigt, wenn Sie ein drahtloses Netzwerk
auswählen).
Wandmontage des Steuergeräts
Für die meisten Installationen ist das notwendige Material enthalten.

1. Verwenden Sie die Bohrung oben am Steuergerät als Bezugspunkt und befestigen Sie
eine 25 mm (1“) Schraube an der Wand. Hinweis: Bei der Montage an Leichtbauwänden
oder massivem Mauerwerk sind geeignete Dübel zu verwenden.
2. Schieben Sie die Schlüssellochönung an der Gehäuseoberseite über die Schraube.
3. Befestigen Sie nun das Steuergerät mit weiteren Schrauben durch die vorgesehenen
Bohrungen.
Für das PHC-601-A, PHC1201-A und PHC2401-A: Wenn das Netzkabel beschädigt ist, muss
es vom Hersteller, von der Kundendienstvertretung oder von gleichwertig qualiziertem
Fachpersonal ausgewechselt werden, um Risiken auszuschließen.

ANSCHLIESSEN DER NETZSTROMVERSORGUNG
Modelle für den Innenbetrieb
Führen Sie das Trafokabel durch die Önung unten links am Steuergerät und schließen
Sie die gelben Adern jeweils an einer der Klemmen an, die mit 24AC gekennzeichnet sind.
Schließen Sie die grüne Ader an der GND-Klemme an.
Hinweis: Das Pro-HC für Innenmontage ist weder wetter- noch wasserbeständig
und muss im Innenbereich, geschützt installiert werden. Das Gerät darf nicht von
Kindern verwendet werden. Lassen Sie Kinder nicht mit dem Gerät spielen.

Modelle für den Außenbetrieb
Das Außenmodell ist spritzwasser- und wetterfest. Der Netzanschluss darf nur von einem
zugelassenen Elektriker unter Beachtung der geltenden Vorschrien vorgenommen werden.

1. Führen Sie das AC-Netzstromkabel
und den Kabelkanal durch die 13 mm
(½“) Kabelkanalönung links unten am
Gehäuse.
2. Verbinden Sie die Adern mit den Adern
des Trafos, die sich in der Anschlussdose
benden. Internationale Modelle
werden mit eingebauter Anschlussleiste
geliefert. Verwenden Sie zum Verlegen
der AC-Netzkabel ausschließlich UL-
zertizierte 13 mm (½“) Kabelkanaladapter
mit Außengewinde.
3. Stecken Sie den Adapter in die 13 mm (½“)
Bohrung unten am Steuergerät. Sichern Sie
den Adapter im Gehäuse mit einer Mutter.
4. Für dieses Steuergerät ist keine
Batterie erforderlich. Die Beregnung
funktioniert jedoch nur mit Netzspannung.
Da das Steuergerät über einen
Permanentspeicher verfügt, werden
Programmuhr und Kalender während
eines Stromausfalls erhalten.
Hinweis: Der Netzanschluss darf nur von einem zugelassenen Elektriker vorgenommen
werden. Nur zugelassenes Installationsmaterial verwenden. Pro HC Steuergeräte sind
für den Anschluss an Zuleitungen mit ordnungsgemäßer Absicherung vorgesehen.
Fehlerhae Installationen können zu Elektroschlag oder Feuer führen. Das Gerät darf
nicht von Kindern verwendet werden. Lassen Sie Kinder nicht mit dem Gerät spielen.

VERBINDEN DER STATIONSADERN
1. Verlegen Sie die Ventiladern zwischen den
Magnetventilen und dem Steuergerät.
2. Verbinden Sie jeweils eine der beiden
von jedem Ventil abgehenden Adern
zur Verwendung als Masseleiter an eine
gemeinsame Ader. Diese ist zumeist
weiß. Schließen Sie eine separate
Steuerleitung an der verbleibenden
Ader von jedem Ventil an. Für
sämtliche Spleißverbindungen müssen
wasserdichte Verbindungshülsen
verwendet werden.
3. Führen Sie die Ventiladern durch den
Kabelkanal. Bringen Sie den Kabelkanal
an einer der Önungen unten am
Gehäuse an.
4. Entfernen Sie 13 mm (½“) der Isolierung
von den Enden aller Adern. Schließen Sie
die gemeinsame Masseleitung der Ventile
an der "COM”-Klemme (Masseleiter)
an. Schließen Sie die Steueradern der
einzelnen Ventile an die Klemmen für die
entsprechenden Stationen an.
Hinweis: Für sämtliche Adernanschlüsse müssen wasserdichte Anschlüsse
verwendet werden. Verbinden Sie jeden der anderen individuellen Drähte mit
einem andersfarbigen Draht. Notieren Sie sich die Zonen mit der entsprechenden
Drahtfarbe für den späteren Gebrauch. Verbinden Sie den gemeinsamen Draht
des mehradrigen Kabels (in der Regel weiß) mit einer der drei Klemmen des
Steuergeräts, die mit COMMON (Gemeinsam) beschriet sind.

VERBINDEN VON SENSOREN ODER
DURCHFLUSSMESSERN (OPTIONAL)
Das Pro-HC Steuergerät unterstützt die meisten oenen/geschlossenen
Kontaktsensoren, inklusive Hunter Regensensoren und Sensoren für die Bodenfeuchte.
1. Verbinden Sie einen Sensor mit COMMON des Steuergeräts.
2. Verbinden Sie den Arbeitskontakt oder Ruhekontakt des Sensors mit SEN-1 oder SEN-
2 auf dem Steuergerät und kongurieren Sie die Hydrawise App.

haben, sollten Sie daran denken, diesen

VERBINDUNG MIT EINEM W-LAN-NETZWERK
Wenn Sie das Steuergerät zum ersten Mal einschalten, wird ein Assistent gestartet, der
Ihr Steuergerät mit dem drahtlosen Router verbindet.
Falls Sie den Einrichtungsassistenten nicht verwenden, dann können Sie Ihre
Drahtloseinstellungen auch über den Abschnitt „Wireless Settings“ (Drahtloseinstellungen)
ändern. Weiteren Support erhalten Sie unter hunter.direct/prohchelp.
Den Assistenten verwenden
1. Wählen Sie Ihr Drahtlosnetzwerk aus der Liste im Display des Steuergeräts und
drücken Sie auf die Taste Conrm (Bestätigen).
2. Geben Sie Ihr Kennwort ein und drücken Sie auf die Taste „OK“ auf dem Tastenfeld.
Wenn Sie sich mit Ihrem Drahtlosnetzwerk verbinden, blinkt das W-Lan-Symbol
unten rechts auf dem Display des Steuergeräts auf. Der Verbindungsauau dauert ca.
30 Sekunden. Ist die Verbindung erfolgreich hergestellt, hört das W-Lan-Symbol
auf zu blinken und leuchtet konstant.
Hinweis: Sollte Ihr Netzwerk nicht in der Liste aufgeführt sein, dann
überprüfen Sie, ob sich das Gerät innerhalb der Netz-Reichweite bendet.
Hinweis: Denken Sie daran, die Taste „OK“ zu drücken, nachdem Sie Ihr
Kennwort eingegeben haben. Durch das Drücken der Tasten „Home“
(Start) oder „Back“ (Zurück) werden Ihre Änderungen nicht gespeichert.
