NOTE: Be sure merchandisers have
been leveled according to the installa-
tion instruction. Carefully unpack and
inspect the Multi-deck Frozen Food
Joint Kit, making sure there is no
breakage or damage. Be sure factory
installed nut retainers are in place.
See Figure 1.

Nut retainers are factory installed in the
right end of each merchandiser.

1A. Remove, bumpers, rails,
packing materials, splash-
guards and other packaged
items from the case.
B. Remove shelves.
C. Remove back panels by lift-
ing up and out near the bottom.
D. Remove display racks and
pans from end to be joined.
E. Remove top access cover.
See Figure 2.
2Level the case on top front rail in the horizontal position and on
the back exterior in the vertical
position. After the case is
properly shimmed and leveled
the gasket can be applied.
3Apply Gaskets (Items – 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6) as shown.
• Buttgaskets atlowercorners.
• Check that there are no gaps
between gasket and the
merchandiser.
• Do not stretch gasket,
especially around corners.
• Remove paper backing before
gasket is applied.
See Figure 3 and Detail A.

These two gaskets should
be 1 x 1/2 inch so they let
the fronts come together
with less pressure.
NOTE 1:
A second 1 x 1/2 inch gasket is
installed under the “D”gasket
on the plastic
extrusion to add insulation to
the plastic bottom and extru-
sion.
NOTE 2:
Bottom “D”gasket is
precut to a length of
42.8 inches with
mitered cut ends.

A, B and C.

4Snap a chalk line to use as a guide for positioning the front of
the cases. The front base frame
should be on the chalk line. Next,
move the second merchandiser
against first, mating with corre-
sponding holes; also mate the
alignment of the bumper joining
holes.
Push the cases together, then
level and shim the second case as
needed.
BOLTING THE CASES
TOGETHER
5First, fasten lower front and back of the case together at locations
A, B and Cusing
Cap Screw (Item – 7) with
FlatWashers (Item – 8),
LockWashers (Item – 9) and
Hex Nut (Item – 10).
Refer to Figure 4, Detail B.
Do not tighten fully.

position (C), join at the coil
by-pass baffle area using the
special bracket provided.
See Figure 5 for more detail
regarding this area of joining.
Next, fasten upper front and back
of the case together at locations
D, E and F using
Cap Screw (Item) – 7 with
FlatWashers (Item – 8) and
LockWashers (Item – 9)
Refer to Figure 4, Detail C.
Repeat this sequence tightening
screws fully until the cases
are joined with a snug fit and
gaskets are compressed.
Join Cases together at C location
using the bracket and fasteners
shown below in Figure 5.

6Apply ButylTape (Item – 11) across the bottom joint.Use field
supplied silicone in any gap
between front support brackets.
See Figure 6.
7INSTALLING SPLASH GUARDS AND BRACKETS.
After the merchandisers have
been leveled and joined and all
drip piping, electrical and refrig-
eration work has been completed,
the installation of
the splashguards may be
started.
A. First, check that the
Splashguard Retainers are
properly attached to the splash-
guard brackets and that the
brackets are level with the floor.
See Detail D.
B. Install the Splashguard
Brackets (Item – 12) using
screws provided. See Figure 7.
C. Install the Splashguard Joint
Support (Item – 13) using
Screws (Item – 14).
See Figure 8, Detail E.

can now be refrigerated and
brought down to temperature.

10 OFFSETTING BUMPERS
1. Locate 2-foot starter bumpers.
2. Remove factory installed top rails
and bumpers from cases. Be
careful not to lose the internal
joint trims on the bumpers.
3. Starting at the left end of the line
up, install the 2-foot starter
bumper section first. To install;
a. Position internal joint trims
so that the first is flush to the
left-end panel and the second
is centered between the
starter bumper and the full
length bumper as shown in
Figure 11.
b. Install Full Length Bumpers
and internal trims offset
across joints. Make sure
that no gaps exist between
sections. Continue installing
the bumpers the length of the
lineup.
c. Install the lower bumper
starter and full length
bumpers by pushing them
into place.
There are no internal joint
trims on the lower bumpers.
