Pump Troubleshooting
Pump does not run or hum
1. Linecircuitbreakermaybeoff,orfusemaybe
blownorloose.
2. Waterlevelinsumpmaybetoolow.Ad
morewater.Turn-onlevelisasindicatedin
installationdrawing.
3. Pumpcordmaynotbemakingcontact
inreceptacle.
4. Floatmaybestuck.Itshouldoperatefreely
inbasin.
5. IfallsystemscheckOK,motorwindingmay
beopen.
Pump runs but does not deliver water
1. Checkvalvemaybeinstalledbackward.Arrowon
valveshouldpointindirectionofflow.
2. Dischargeshut-offvalve(ifused)maybeclosed.
3. Pumpmaybeairlocked.Startandstopseveral
timesbypluggingandunpluggingcord.Checkfor
cloggedventholeindischarge.
4. Impellerorvoluteopeningsmaybefullyor
partiallyclogged.Removepumpandclean.
5. Inletholesinpumpbasemaybeclogged.Remove
pumpandcleantheopenings.
6. Pumpheadmaybetoohigh.Pumpcan’tdeliver
waterover22feetvertical.Horizontaldistance
