Up to 12 hot-swap hard disk drives
(HDDs) provide up to 1.76TB1of
internal storage, offering the lowest
cost xSeries alternative for data cen-
ters requiring 4-way power. Two open
bays accommodate optional tape
backup for improved data protection.
Extreme reliability
The x255 is packed with features
such as IBM Director systems man-
agement software to improve system
uptime. Advanced IBM Enterprise
X-Architecture™ technologies such
as Light Path Diagnostics, Active™
PCI-X, redundant N+N power sup-
plies, hot-spare memory and memory
mirroring help increase system avail-
ability. Add an optional Remote
Supervisor Adapter along with
ServeRAID controllers to improve
