Configuring the IBM Flex System EN2092 1Gb Ethernet Sc l ble Switch
Prerequisites:
One IBM Flex System Enterprise Chassis, one IBM Flex System EN2092 1Gb Ethernet S alable
Swit h installed in I/O module bay 1 or 2.
An Ethernet network is already onfigured.
Steps:
Note: This pro ess illustrates how to enable the swit h ports through the Chassis Management Module
(CMM) ommand-line interfa e. For information about using the CMM interfa e, you an use the
“Configuring IBM Flex System Enterprise Chassis omponents” qui k start guide. You an find that qui k

the installed do umentation, li k Information Center from the IBM Flex System Manager Home page and then navigate to:
IBM Flex System information -> Qui k start guides -> Installing and onfiguring the IBM Flex System Enterprise Chassis
1. Log on to the Chassis Management Module (CMM) CLI with an SSH appli ation. The default IP
address is 192.168.70.100 and the default login/password is USERID/PASSW0RD. If ne essary, obtain
the IP address and login of the CMM from your system administrator.
2. Set the environment to the bay where you installed the swit h. The following example is for bay 2:
env -T system:swit h[2]
3. Run the following ommand to enable external data ports:
if onfig -ep enabled
External ports 1 – 10 are now enabled for data throughput.

Activating additional keys:
If you have pur hased additional keys, they need to be installed on the swit h. Complete the following
steps to install additional keys using the ISCLI interfa e.
1. To retrieve the key, navigate a browser to https://www.ibm. om/systems/x/fod/index.wss and sign in
with your ID and password
2. Cli k Request activation key.
3. Enter the authorization ode. The authorization ode was supplied to you by email or on paper as
part of the ordering pro ess.
4. Cli k Continue and follow the instru tions and download the key file.
5. Log on to the EN2092 swit h with an SSH appli ation. The default IP addresses for the swit h
through the CMM are as follows: 192.168.70.120 (bay 1), 192.168.70.121 (bay 2), 192.168.70.122
(bay 3), and 192.168.70.123 (bay 4). If ne essary, obtain the IP address and login of the swit h from
your system administrator.
6. Enter ena.
7. Enter software-key.
8. Enter enakey address <hostname or IP address> keyfile <file name>
protocol tftp mgt-port
Note: you must reset the swit h to apply the key.
9. Reset the swit h. Enter reload..
Repeat the step for additional keys if needed. The sequen e of steps is shown here:
