Configuring the IBM Flex System Fabric EN4093 0Gb Scalable Switch
Prerequisites:
One IBM Flex System Enterprise Chassis and one IBM Flex System Fabric EN4093 0Gb Scalable
Switch installed in I/O module bay or 2.
An Ethernet network is already configured.
Steps:
Note: This process illustrates how to enable the switch ports through the Chassis Management Module
(CMM) command-line interface. For information about using the CMM interface, you can use the
“Configuring IBM Flex System Enterprise Chassis components” quick start guide. You can find that quick
start guide at this location:

the installed documentation, click Information Center from the IBM Flex System Manager Home page and then navigate to:

. Log on to the Chassis Management Module (CMM) CLI with an SSH application. The default IP
address is 92. 68.70. 00 and the default login/password is USERID/PASSW0RD. If necessary, obtain
the IP address and login of the CMM from your system administrator.
2. Set the environment to the bay where you installed the switch. Example for bay 2:
env -T system:switch[2]
3. Run the following command to enable external data ports:
ifconfig -ep enabled
External ports – 0 are now enabled for data throughput.

Activating additional keys:
If you have purchased additional keys, they need to be installed on the switch. Complete the following
steps to install additional keys using the ISCLI interface.
. To retrieve the key, navigate a browser to https://www.ibm.com/systems/x/fod/index.wss and
sign in with your ID and password.
2. Click Request activation key.
3. Enter the authorization code. The authorization code was supplied to you by email or on paper
as part of the ordering process.
4. Click Continue and follow the instructions and download the key file.
5. Log on to the EN4093 switch with an SSH application. The default IP addresses for the switch
through the CMM are as follows: 92. 68.70. 20 (bay ), 92. 68.70. 2 (bay 2),
92. 68.70. 22 (bay 3), 92. 68.70. 23 (bay 4). If necessary, obtain the IP address from your
system administrator.
6. Enter ena.
7. Enter software-key.
8. Enter enakey address <hostname or IP address> keyfile <file name>
protocol tftp mgt-port
Note: you must reset the switch to apply the key.
9. Reset the switch. Enter reload.
Repeat these steps for additional keys, if needed. The sequence of steps is shown here:
