Preface
This manual explains installation procedures for the ImageTracDS 1155 / 1210 scanner (hereinafter abbreviated as
"Scanner"). The target audience of this manual is maintenance personnel who work on those procedures.
This manual covers the installation procedure of the scanner and TWAIN driver software.
Before you begin the installation, make sure you carefully read this manual and fully understand the general description
of the Scanner as well as installation procedures and instructions for the Scanner.
The contents of this manual are carefully checked. Should you find any questions, errors, or missing information in this
manual, please contact ibml.

Precautions before starting work
•Maintenance work may be performed only trained and qualified personnel.
•Be sure to follow the instructions and directions in this manual when using the device.
•Personal danger or damage to the device may occur when any of the precautions are ignored.
•Be sure to follow the safety notices shown on the device or mentioned in the manual.
•If the label for safety-related is broken, replace a new label.
•If any abnormalities occurs (e.g. abnormal temperature, abnormal noise, unusual smell, or smoke
emission), stop using the device immediately, turn off the device, and unplug the power cable.
•Although the safety notices shown on the device or mentioned in the manual are carefully considered,

Common Safety Precautions
Caution for heavy components
•When lifting heavy components, use your leg muscles keeping your back straight not to injure your
spine or back muscles.
Caution for moving parts
•Do not power on without covers for moving parts.
•Keep loose clothing (e.g. ties, scarves or shirt sleeves) away from all moving parts.
Cover Removal
•Any person other than the service personnel must not remove the cover(s) in any case. There are
high-voltage components and rotating parts inside the device, which may cause an electric shock,
injury, or damage to the device
Caution for sharp edges of parts
•Be aware that some parts may have sharp edges.
Caution for glass or plastic parts
•There are glass or plastic parts in the device. If you use it with damaged or deformed parts, it’s very
dangerous. If you see damaged or deformed parts, replace the parts.
Caution for routing cables
•Route cables so that they do not catch your feet. If your feet are caught by cables and you fall over,
this may cause injury or damage the device.
Unstable place
•Do not put the device on an inclined, small, or unstable environment. The device may drop or fall
down and cause an injury.

Location
•This device weighs approximately 94 lbs (43 kg). At least 2 people are required to handle
the device. Take stable posture when installing the device.
•Be sure to hold the bottom of the device. If you hold input/output tray or other parts, the
device may break or drop.
•When placing the device on the floor, be careful not to catch your fingers between the
bottom of the device and the floor.
•Do not jar or drop the device.
•An earthquake may cause the device to drop. Be sure to put the device in the center of
the steady table.

•Caution for being caught.
When the Top Unit is open, hands and objects can be caught by the Top Unit if the Top Unit closes
unexpectedly, Make sure you hold the Top Unit with your free hand while you work. (Install 06-0030)
(Install 06-0040)
•Do not shake or disassemble ink cartridge. If you do, ink may be scattered, entering eyes and getting
on skin and clothes.
If ink should enter eyes or be swallowed by mistake, wash the eyes or gargle and contact the nearest
medical service. (Install 08-0020)

•Due to the transportation in winter, there might be dew condensation on the device. If you power on
just after unpack and install the device, glasses might be misted up and it may cause of read error.
In this case, turn off the power and after a few hours power on again.
•Do not turn the Scanner on yet.
•At this step turn the Scanner on. (Install 01-0000)
•If the host systems do not satisfy the requirement, it might cause the following problems.
Processor other than recommended ・・・ Degradation of scanning speed or throughput
Main Memory ・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・ Memory shortage error or other memory errors
Available Disk Volume ・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・ Unrecoverable error (Install 05-0000)
•Pay particular attention to the Grounding. (Install 06-0010)
•Do not turn the power on until installing the software in the PC.
•For an interface cable, use the bundled USB3.0 (SuperSpeed) cable.
If the device is operated with a USB2.0 host controller, it becomes the USB2.0(Hi-Speed) mode.

•Since the ink cartridge bundled with the DS 1210 equipped the back side imprinter(option) is used for
only printer check purpose at the device installation, the specifications of ink cartridge described in
documentations provided by ibml for the DS 1210 shall not applied to it. (Install 08-0020)

1 Scope
This manual is applied to the on-site installation of ImageTracDS 1155 / 1210 scanner. The scanner can be
operated by connecting to the host with the USB interface.
2 Installation Time
About 60 minutes
3 Procedure
NOTICE
Due to the transportation in winter, there might be dew condensation on the device.
If you power on just after unpack and install the device, glasses might be misted up
and it may cause of read error.
In this case, turn off the power and after a few hours power on again.

•Unpack the Image scanner container and set the device at the place
where customer specified.
•Check hardware and software of the host systems to set up the
Scanner Driver.
•Confirm the host systems since the Image scanner will not work with
the OS that does not support the USB interface.
•Check the components, appearance, and the power supply systems.
•Installation of the Image scanner hardware.
NOTICE
Do not turn the Scanner on yet.
•Install the Scanner driver to the PC.
NOTICE
At this step turn the Scanner on.
•Ensure the Image scanner can be operated properly by the host
systems.
•Request customer to confirm the installation work, explain how to
operate the device and safety precautions.
•Ensure all work has been completed.

5 Requirement for Host Systems
5.1 OS, Required Capacity of Memory and Disk
Prior to set up of the Scanner Driver, confirm whether the host systems meet the requirement below.
Device installation should be done after setting up the host systems that satisfy the requirement.

5.2 Requirement for USB Interface
Be sure to log on as a user with administrator privileges. In order to set up the scanner driver appropriately, the
USB port and the USB driver need to be operating correctly with the host system.

(2) Attach input tray according to following instructions.
2-1. Lift Hopper Plate so that Elevator Arm is under Hopper Plate.
2-2. Attach input tray securely with sheet stopper.
Note: If Input tray is not attached securely below it may cause malfunction.
(3) Close the Main Cover by pushing the area of the “PUSH” labels that are
both side of the Main cover.

the Top Unit with your hand while you work.
(2)Push the Top Latch Button to open the Top Cover.
(3)Attach the Output Tray-L (Stacker) to the Output Tray-L (Stacker) Bracket.
(4)Secure the Output Tray-L (Stacker) with attached 3 flat-head Phillips screws.
Note: Output Tray-U (Stacker) is same way.

Position
When the Top Unit is open, hands and objects can be caught by the
Top Unit if the Top Unit closes unexpectedly, Make sure you hold the
Top Unit with your free hand while you work.
(1) Push the Top Latch Button and the Top Cover will open.
(2) To open Cover (Imprint), push the ”PUSH OPEN”.
(3) Set the Tray to the “INSIDE or OUTSIDE” position.
INSIDE (W=21±1 mm)
OUTSIDE (W=11±1 mm)
(4) Close the Cover (Imprint) and also the Top Cover.

(1) Connect the bundled Power Cable to the inlet connector that is at the side of the device. The
other side of the cable should be connected to the power outlet whose voltage was measured at
No. 5.
(2) Connect the bundled USB cable to the USB port.
NOTICE
